I would not recommend Trees on the Move. My experience has been that they bait the consumer and then say they can't do the job unless you agree to do more work, which means pay more money than you planned. Very unethical. Unless of course you agree up front to pay much more than you thought the job was worth. My advice is to try another company. You will save money and aggravation. read more

We paid over $2k for two bushes and a tree back on Mother's Day. We were told the trees we had to pay 100% upfront plus a $55 gas surcharge would be installed in 4 to 6 weeks per Daniel S. but when we showed some concern about the timeline before signing the contract, he said it would most likely be 4 weeks. This was my wife's Mother's Day gift that turned into a nightmare thanks to this company. About a week after Mother's Day, we had a visit from the diggers hotline people to plant the flags in our yard. Then, after four weeks passed, I called to inquire about the installation date to see if we were on schedule. Daniel S. stated it would be another two to three weeks. When I asked about why, he was condescending and said it is what it is. I have spoken to friendlier people at the DMV. Two weeks go by and I call again. Daniel S. once again in his condescending tone states it will be another two to three weeks. Two week go by and we had a 4th of July party planned and hoped to have our trees and bushes installed by this time, so my wife called this time and once again was transferred to Daniel S. Guess What!? Daniel tells my wife it could be another two to three weeks and he can't guarantee anything! My wife asks if the trees haven't been installed by the contracted date can we get our over $2,000.00 back. Daniel S. in his rude and condescending tone tells her NO. The following week I call and for the first time I'm transferred to Sue (owner's wife) instead of Daniel S. At this point, I'm ready to submit a BBB complaint etc. Sue blames me for not asking to talk to a manager sooner! Wow! Now, Sue tells me we were to get our tree and bushes installed this week, and it was tempting to just go ahead and have them finally install the tree and bushes, but my gut told me to dump this company and get our money back and run. I don't trust them to do the install right and I don't trust they will support the warranty from reading other countless negative reviews all over the place. I also told Sue I would write a review and she stated that most of the negative reviews were BOTS and fake! She also said go ahead they have 100's of customers! Well, I can confirm I am not a BOT but a very disappointed customer who will never ever do business with this company again and I will do my best to warn others in every way possible. We just built a home, and quite arguably received the worst rough grade ever from our builder. Trees on the Move went above and beyond to make our yard beautiful. I can't begin to explain how much rock they had to remove, and how much top soil had to be brought in just to make the yard resemble something that could grow grass. We're now only 10 days post-seeding, and we saw grass poking through on day 6! The owner personally has stopped by twice to check trees, and the project manager came by the night after the work was complete to help us set up watering. Highly recommend! read more

After the Sale Customer Service is very poor. A project to sod back yard, plant some trees and improve drainage in early summer of 2018 was successfully completed. However, as the summer went on I had questions about whether I was watering the sod too much or not enough. Called and asked for someone to stop by my house to check the grass, even spoke with the president, Gary personally. After reluctantly agreeing to stop by he never showed. I called to set up an estimate for a stone patio, which I was told nobody was in the office right now and they would call to schedule one with me. Nobody called so after a week I emailed them, and I received a response of "what's your address? i'll stop by". I responded with "well I am at work, what time were you thinking?" of which I still to this day one month later have never received a response. I am not calling them again. Why even have a business if you don't return calls and send half-assed emails? If they can't even handle sales calls, how can you expect them to do a proper job? read more

Buyer Beware! Customer service after the sale is seriously poor. Responsiveness to telephone calls and e-mails is relatively non-existent. So many frustrations in this 15K landscaping project, but suffice it to say for this review that, in the end, the verbal promise to replace some of our trees was not honored. To make matters worse, they were not going to tell us about the change in decision. We had to leave multiple messages to ultimately find out that they were not going to follow through with the agreed upon strategy. If I could put 0 stars I would have. Gary has to be the most arrogant, BS'er sales person we've ever experienced! I wouldn't spend a dime with them unless you are happy with lower than expected results, zero communication and not honoring what was discussed! We spent over $5,000 with them in November, 2012 with the understanding that 2012 was a bad year for trees and that these 18 trees/evergreens we bought should be fine BUT if they aren't, they would be covered. Yeah, right!!! We started calling in March or April because we wanted to start another project that they were keen on quoting. It's December 8th and the amount of phone calls, complete lack of communication not only with us but with Gary and his employees has been a complete joke! And yes....as another reviewer wrote....they don't listen to what you want anyway! Gary completely 'dissed' our deck that we designed and built by saying 'the improvements that we wanted to do for the landscaping didn't match the quality of the deck.' Also, we like contemporary designs and 'that sorta thing isn't done in Wisconsin!' Are you kidding me?!!! As a sales rep, if I EVER treated my customers like this, I wouldn't have any at all! We currently have about 6 trees that are dead.....Gary & Ziggy both have been out to our house on numerous occasions this year to look at the trees. And no, Gary (the owner) still hasn't put something in writing that he told my husband he would do 2 MONTHS AGO stating that WE would pay $125 per tree if they were still dead next spring. And why WE should have to pay anything is beyond me BUT we can't find the warranty information even though we had a verbal agreement with Gary. Gary is only concerned about his big commercial accounts like Harley, SC Johnson, Taco Bell etc. There's always an excuse for everything from Gary. What a complete joke! Don't waste your time OR your money and if you do decide to do business with them after all of these 1 stars, get EVERYTHING in writing and don't just believe his BS! read more

They did not live up to the terms of their contract as far as when the work was done. They did not send me an invoice for 6 weeks and then acted like I wasn't returning their phone calls (which I did, asking for an invoice). They had to come back to finish work that they missed in the contract and widened a flower bed that I asked them not to touch. I had to make multiple phone calls to get the work started and every time they said it was going to be a week it was 2 or three weeks, but they sure cashed my deposit check fast enough. read more

The visit to Trees on the Move was excellent with a lot of personal attention in the selection of a tree. The transplanting process was done quickly and professionally with no mess on our property. Cannot recommend as scheduled one appointment resulted in a no show no call . Contacted them as I know stuff happens. SHOCKED to get same response. Most hilarious part of story. We had a sales person out to give us their ideas and a bid for our home landscaping. Our project was a sizeable one, or so I thought. After a 20 minute walk around we were told we'd get their bid in a week or so. NOTHING. I even emailed him after 2 weeks asking if they were going to send a bid. NO REPLY. After reading other reviews, I remembered that when I asked our salesperson if he had an approximate idea of the possible cost he replied "Well it's NOT a $20,000 job" Maybe it wasn't worth their while, but at least have the simple common COURTESY to tell us if you aren't interested. read more

If I could give them a ZERO I would!!! DO NOT do business with them! Such a negative experience, extremely poor customer service. I called them several times throughout 4yrs to ask them to come out and look at the tree they planted. Not only did they never come out, but told us to keep fertilizing it, which we did. We recently had a certified arborist come out and look at the tree and it was explained to us that the way Trees on the Move pruned the tree flush with the trunk when it was young is more than likely causing the center of the tree to die. Hence the tree progressively getting worse throughout the years. In addition they did an extremely poor planting job (it's slanted), which trees on the move just tied a rope to a pole per their workers "to make it grow straight". We purchased ONE tree from them and it is the ONLY tree that is not doing well in our yard, we have spent thousands on other trees and shrubs that had been purchased from other nursery's that are thriving, clearly it is not due to our negligence. When I called I was blown off and told that she (the owner's wife) doesn't have time for this and since the tree has been in our possession for years that they are not responsible for it. Even after I explain that I have called them several times and was told to keep fertilizing it. I asked why she was not backing their product and she said because it's been years and that they cannot warranty the tree for it's entire life. The tree is less than 5yrs old. I would never expect a company to warranty a tree for it's whole life, but a tree that is that young should be thriving at this point, not slowly dying. Do not do business with them unless you want to be given the run around so that your warranty runs out and are left with dead trees/shrubs. read more
