They cleaned the tables off as soon as people left. I attended a birthday party and the birthday room was the perfect size. Our party room attendant was a super sweetest young man. He was so patient with everyone and did not seem annoyed by all of the screaming and excited kids running in his way while he was doing his job. He brought us everything we asked for with a smile. They are extremely organized. I love the colored wristband method. A child did get hurt while we were there and the employees rushed to help her. They were organized, they weren't frantic or freaking out at all. They had clear communication with each other. Because they were so organized and professional it kept the parents from freaking out and they kept the child relaxed until the ambulance arrived. You could totally tell this was not their first rodeo. My family came here to visit not knowing what to expect. It was a great experience learning how Forestiere built these tunnels so intentionally and with innovation. The guided tour is about 60 minutes and includes a lot of walking with some stairs, so be prepared with comfy shoes. However, there's also benches in the tunnels if you need a quick seat. The tour ends in the grand ballroom which connects to the gift shop. There you can find citrus sorbet made from the fruits of this garden. I had to give that a taste and it was sweet and zesty. I went home with some postcards to send to friends too. This place is also California State National Landmark No. 916! You must add it to your bucket list of adventures.

This meant we had to choose between watching our kids (ages 4-7) or eating cake together, since we couldn't do both at once. This raises a real safety concern: if parents are forced to step away from the play area just to eat cake, who's responsible if something happens to a child while no adult is watching? That's a serious liability question the venue doesn't seem to have thought through. When we tried to bring the cake out to the supervision area, a staff member confronted us about it in a way that felt unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful. As grown adults, we were made to feel like we were in trouble for doing something wrong, simply for trying to watch our kids while having a slice of cake. There are better ways to enforce a policy than coming at customers like that, especially in front of kids. It left a bad taste and made an otherwise fun birthday feel stressful. Would not recommend unless they revisit both the policy and how staff communicate with guests and rethink a rule that puts kids' safety at risk.

It certainly is beginning to look a lot like christmas and its not even Thanksgiving yet, especially at the old town clovis with its exclusive once a year event known as "One Enchanted Evening" thats completely FREE of charge , this year it was on Nov 19th from 5pm to 8pm. This event feels like walking through the main street of Disneyland without leaking $150 of course Its almost like a best kept secret, since many people in the city of Fresno and Clovis seems unaware that it is an annual tradition that has been running for 12 years, even I was almost unaware of it, but thankfully my friend Dave reminded me. The old town Clovis transforms into a christmas galore with glitzy light luminously lighting its historic streets, christmas song's like mariah carey's 'all I want for christmas playing in the background, smell of hot chocolates in the air, lit horse drawn carriages making its headway down the street, and colorful and shiny christmas decor prominent everywhere, it certainly feels christmasy, warm and fuzzy. There is of course opportunity to visit the adorable antique stores and get the christmas shopping started. And not to forget is the classic collection of old cars from the early 1800 century to the late 1920's all parked on the street and ready for an Instagram moment. One Enchanted Evening is held exclusively by the participating businesses in Old Town Clovis who open their doors for hospitality and good cheer by offering complimentary drinks and mini snacks while we shopped through their amazing antiquities, engulf in their beautifully decorated display window, and walk through the beautifully lit streets of old town clovis lined with lights and christmas decorations . Its also the opportune time to enjoy a complimentary horse-drawn carriage ride through the beautifully decorated streets of Old Town Clovis and a time for me to drag my younger siblings here too, since I heard Santa would be here collecting data on who's naughty and nice. There was even carolers all dressed up in victorian styles clothing singing some christmas tunes. Parking was not much an issue for me, because there were plenty of Free street parking available. I would however advise future patrons to come as early as 5.30 am to enjoy the caroling, which I missed. The time spent here can be varied, but it took me about 30-45 minutes to slowly stroll, visit shops and sip some free hot chocolate and not to forget to bring the best cameras at home, because the sights and window set up is so beautiful and must be captured in photos before its all gone. Its an experience everyone should experience at least once a year !

Wow! Wow! Wow! Coming to Roger Rocka's Dinner Theatre as a child, then decades later, getting to…read morebring my own son for the first time, along with my mom- and it was everything and more... perfection! We got to go to a phenomenal performance of The Buddy Holly Story on a Saturday Night, and we were thoroughly entertained! Seriously...our lil' group-a preteen boy, a lady in her 40's, and one in her 80's- all equally sitting and enjoying a memorable night! That's just magic! We were honored to see Daniel Montgomery's Roger Rocka's Debut, as we have enjoyed seeing him in Bear Stage Productions. My son even got to talk with super talented, Danny after the show! He was Buddy Holly in every sense. Tremendous singing and guitar playing! The entire cast, with musical, dancing, and acting was committed 100% to the characters, and drew the audience in. It moved me. I smiled, laughed, sang along, tapped my feet, shimmied my shoulders, and even teared up. Kudos to the director, Mark Standriff, who I also got the pleasure to meet and talk with following the show. Okay, let's talk the food and service- top notch! The bread and salads were fresh and plentiful! The bruschetta was like a party in your mouth, and the entrees were delicious! In our group we ordered the Grilled Flat Iron Steaks and the Vegetarian Zucchini Rollatini. Ample portions, fantastic textures, and flavors were on point! (See the attached pictures for the full effect). Our table service was flawless, and all the servers were accommodating and attentive! One of the best moments was at the start when our table was surprised by the announcement of us being there- it was my son's first time, and the spotlight shone on him. He has such a love for theatre and had even gotten the chance to be in an production with Buddy Holly himself, Danny, in the Wizard of Oz. The night meant the world to our son, and the talents of all were entertaining and inspiring. The visit as a whole was beautiful, and I highly recommend not just seeing this production, but also coming here for future ones! We ended up spending $300 with dinner for two plus the dessert and two drinks (each). We also had 2 extra cocktail and an upcharge for getting a filet mignon vs the skirt steak or other options available. The cocktails were amazing and definitely the best thing we had. The dessert and appetizer tied for second, followed by the entree. Unfortunately both of our steaks (along with the table next to us) were way overcooked. This is a catered dinner so nothing is cooked to order- you should know that as well. That means everything is warm vs hot and not as fresh as we may prefer it. Blackbeards definitely needs a facelift and general renovations, specifically regarding the arcade and food offerings. I also found the $35 wristband price to be high given the current selection of available attractions. While the miniature golf course remains in good condition, it is disappointing that the water slides are no longer operational. The pool area still looks sparkling clean and well-maintained, yet it remains inaccessible to guests. I discussed this with the workers and they stated that there are no plans to reopen the slides. If so, I suggest utilizing that space for something new to better serve their visitors. Blackbeards has a great deal of potential, and I look forward to seeing the improvements that could take place in the coming years.
