Adequate but definitely nothing special. There are better choices in town. Our room was in building 4 near the indoor pool and felt like a dungeon. The room itself was clean when we arrived but the front entrance way and our room's patio were dirty. Small dresser for two people, four hangers on rack, nowhere to place luggage, very small trash can. Indoor pool area was uninviting, water looked unappealing, related bathroom disgusting. Outdoor pools did look fine. Disappointed front desk is not manned 24 hours a day for a facility of this size. Hotel parking tags are given out that include your room number. If someone knows your car and is looking for you, they will find you! Be careful. read more

We had such a great stay at Tremont Lodge & Resort! If you're looking for a peaceful spot near the Smoky Mountains, this place is a gem. First of all, omg the bed! The pillows and mattress were AMAZING. I'm very particular about sleep, and we both knocked out instantly. After long days working, coming back to that level of comfort made the trip even better. The property itself is really nice and well kept. I loved the open outdoor areas, it feels spacious, relaxed, and surrounded by nature instead of crowded like some other mountain stays. It has that calm, tucked-away vibe while still being super convenient. One of my favorite little details was the fire pit area and the s'mores kits. Such a thoughtful touch! This motel is conveniently located in Townsend and the outdoor seating and pool areas are decent. The rooms are small but clean with a TV. The room I had smelled like it had been smoked in which wrecked havoc on my sinuses. It smelled very bad. Also the mattress was uncomfortable and felt like it was very old. The sheets were rough and itchy so I slept in pants, but the air conditioner in the room kept it a good temp. Overall I wouldn't stay here again but in Townsend there are not a lot of motel options. Good pricing with good accommodations. Beds were comfy and suite was spacious. Amenities were nice, there is an outdoor movie theater but I was not able to locate a schedule or what movies would be playing or when. There is a secret "speakeasy" which was neat. The bads tho; we rented a suite with a sofa bed for people that needed to sleep on it. There was absolutely no bedding. There was no one working at the lodge all day because it was a holiday. I get maybe limited staff but every hotel that's open at least has someone. I messaged and was told that this would be a top priority first thing in the morning. Three days later as we are checking out, there is still no bedding. Some priority! The tub also held water so you're taking a shower in inches of water which I most certainly did not enjoy. There was also an almost constant clicking noise reminiscent of a leaky dripping faucet but we could not find what it was that made noise all day and all night. Would I stay here again despite this? Maybe. Because the room was nice with no bugs and the lodge grounds and amenities are nice. read more

This hotel has gone through massive renos (that's what we in biz call "renovations"). Kidding, I'm not in any biz. Anyhow the newly remodeled hotel is awesome. For those of us who think we're still athletes but risk pulling a hammy, they have pickleball courts. My favorite touch was the speakeasy. I went in there speaking hard and quickly got corrected (get it, it's a speakEASY). The password to get in is you have to say "everybody" then the bartender says "yeah, yeah" then you say "rock your body" then the bartender says "yeah yeah". This place is too expensive for the quality of stay. Make no mistake by the term "resort" this is a run of the mill motel. We stayed for 3 nights in October for a little over $400 thinking it would be a decently nice place. The property seems to have been newly redone, but very cheaply. The room seemed clean but felt kind of run down. No bed bugs but some stains on the sheets. The corners of the particle board furniture are all rubbed off, and the handle on the shower water controller wobbled so much it felt like you could easily tear it off. About half of the lamps didn't work in our room, the A/C couldn't keep up, and the hot water was out for an entire day. If this was $80 a night, it would feel more appropriate for the quality. The location was super convenient to cades cove and the rest of Townsend. read more

We have stayed at the Tremont several times in the last few months as we love to visit Cade's Cove often. We stayed there 3 weeks ago and are going back for Valentine's Day. We have stayed in older rooms and updated rooms and to be honest, we did not have a problem with the older room. It was very clean and spacious. The bed was great. We had a very nice size sofa with a separate living room. This particular room is the first room on the right when you walk into the building that has the indoor pool. It is currently being renovated, and I can't wait to see it after it is finished. You cannot beat opening your hotel room door to an indoor pool and hot tub! Our children are adults but I imagine the building with the indoor pool is a hit with people with children. Three weeks ago, we stayed in one of the renovated rooms and it was great as well. The staff has always been very friendly and nice to us. As a matter of fact, they went out of their way three weeks ago to give us a refund on one of our nights when we had to leave early when it started snowing. They have some rooms that are pet friendly if you travel with your pets. They have a great free breakfast bar with many things to choose from and their orange juice actually tastes like orange juice! My husband and I love the Treemont and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to stay while in Townsend. read more

If you are looking for a low cost place to stay while staying in Townsend, Tennessee; this is the place. It's clean, the staff are very friendly, the rooms are newly renovated. It's an old property, that the owners are taking and breathing new life into. The more business they get, I hope they'll spend on continuance upgrading. Our room was very nice, with only a few things that would make it better. We needed an extra two curtain panels on the front window, the ones there did not quite fit all the way the bathroom is small but clean. This area could use some improve improvements, simply because the bathrooms are very small. The indoor pool building is OK, but it has a tired old look to it. They serve a continental breakfast at the main lodge building every morning. They also have a lounge upstairs that has a pool table and a television. They also have an outdoor pool with a waterfall, which is very inviting. The outside grounds are beautiful. There is plenty of parking throughout the property that spans over 10 acres. It is a very convenient location to other restaurants and shops in Townsend. This is a great area if you want a place that is slower than going to Gatlinburg or pigeon Forge, which is only about an hour away driving through the cove. I gave the lodge three stars, because of them need to continue updating and upgrading the rooms and the property. But five star is warranted because of the staff who are so friendly. It is a pet friendly property which is a plus we got a chance to meet Butch inside the main building a very sweet dog. I spoke to the front desk Clark as I was leaving and she said you will get a better rate booking directly with her than using a third-party booking site. read more

The property was purchased six months ago, so we chose to make a reservation to support the new owners. We checked in on Friday to stay for three days and the room we were given was dirty. Towels and sheets in the floor, garbage cans full, bathtub and toilet dirty. We requested a new room and when we went to that one, it also was dirty and had not been cleaned. We requested a refund and were told they did not give refunds. I had received an email from the owner earlier welcoming us so I emailed him directly and asked for a phone call but did not receive one. We informed the front desk clerk that we expected a full refund. She spoke with management and said they would refund but we would be charged a fee. After several back-and-forth phone calls, they refunded our total amount. I sent an email to the new owner explaining what had happened and it has been 24 hours with no response. read more

We loved staying when it's just two of us. But we decided to bring our MIL & a friend this time so we rented the family room. It was supposed to come with queen beds and a pull out couch. Unfortunately there was no mattress on the couch beds. We complained they moved us apologized and said maintenance would look at it. Nope same thing in the new room. Needless to say my husband got a crappy nights sleep. No offer of a discount just oh sorry well look into it. No don't offer a couch bed and there is no mattress. Who can sleep on a metal box spring? Be honest and take "couch bed" out of the listing. I doubt we'll stay again. read more

We reserved our room for an event in Townsend there back In Jan and booked our stay for end of April. We got a call about a week and a half before coming down that they had overbooked and was doing renovations and wouldn't have a room available, but offered our money back. we had to get real redneck with them and let them know we would be there to have a place to sleep wherever they could put us because the booking was done 4 months in advance. The poor girl called her boss and poof, we had a room. We got to the hotel and as we were checking in got behind someone else that they were doing the same thing to, but they had made the drive. I prayed we had a room and we didn't make a trip without having a place. We had no issue, thank God! I will say the rooms were nice and clean, everything functioned like it should and they were doing renovations to be fair, but you just don't do that to people. We also had a free continental breakfast and it was good with lots of options. If the first struggle hadn't happened, it would have been a 5 star review. read more

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding. With the exception of the bath tub which had some wear and tear, our room was recently remodeled (freshly painted walls, new bed, furniture, etc...) the room had everything I would look for in a hotel. Workers were nice and the rooms were cleaned well. The hotel is located in a nice area just outside of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the breakfast was basic. read more

We stayed three nights and slept wonderfully every night. The room has been beautifully redone with the trendy black metal curtain rods and plumbing fixtures. Even the full-sized refrigerator is a gleaming (and spotless) black, as is the stove (sticky at the controls with a clock that won't set), and microwave. I loved the full-sized leatherette sofa. We also had a fireplace that we didn't use. Our room also had a wrap-around balcony (Building 8) with three chairs. Our view to the front was not appealing as it looked directly into the awning, but pull the chairs around to the side (which faces the road) and you can watch cars and look out onto the mountains). If you are energetic, drag your chairs to the back where you have more room and views of trees. The kitchen area has a lot of cabinets that are mostly empty, but they provide essentials for cooking and eating. The large kitchen sink also doubles as your bathroom sink. Since the lighting is dim by the sink, it makes shaving an interesting activity. There is another mirror in the kitchen. Kudos to having daily maid service! That is so rare these days! It was greatly appreciated because there are two tiny garbage cans, one in the living room and one in the bathroom. The property is large and construction is taking place. We had no issues with the construction as it was far from us. Since the property is large, we were advised to drive our car back for the breakfast. We did. The breakfast room is small, but it was never a problem. This clean, bright space offers a basic breakfast to get you going. On the weekend, hot food was offered along with the daily waffle, cereal, breads, etc. Regarding negatives, I would say add more lights to the room. The two nightstand lights were barely enough for reading, and even with the one standing lamp, the room is dim at night. I would also suggest replacing the bathroom door as it sticks and has a dent in it. The hinges are rusty. The owners painted it bright white, so it looks clean, but everything suggests it is old. The shower stall is also old and has multiple paint blotches from many years' worth of paint. I understand they are expensive to replace, but so much money is being poured into this resort to make it nice, that overlooking the bathroom seems remiss. Finally, find a way to clean the paint out of the grout in the bathroom. It looks sloppy. While we loved the bed, it is one of those really tall ones. I know my father who has mobility issues would not be able to get into the bed. If you have issues with tall beds, call to see if all the beds are this tall. Again, we didn't have any issues with it. Would we stay here again? Absolutely! Great sheets, soft towels, friendly people, beautiful property, excellent night's sleep, spacious and clean room, and great location. read more

Bathroom is very basic but no problems . could use a little more lighting in room, But that's my personal preference . Everything worked well ...except WiFi!! Tried to watch tv after long day on the road but WiFi kept going in and out. Frustrating ! Finally switched over to using my phone as a hotspot to stream. There's no phone in the room, and no phone # to the Front Desk so you have to walk to the front office if you need anything. I would say this is a major problem. Other than that, just keep in mind there's no elevator to the second floor. It's a beautiful location and free Breakfast was very good.. Staff was friendly and very helpful when we needed them. I'm not sure we'd stay again . Maybe. other than the Wi-Fi thing and having to walk to the front desk for any needs, I can't see any downside. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! NON-EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. NASTY! Floors are nasty. Walked through in white socks that in one trip are now black. Tub still had hair and bugs in it. Toilet seat is not even attached. Heater kicks on and off every 30 seconds because the curtains block the air. It's raining and water is puddled at our door. Tv is cheap and picture sucks. Hairdryer base attached with one screw and not secured so when drying hair the whole base comes off the wall. While the water is hot the shower head sucks. Pillows are pathetic. Keurig is beyond NASTY! Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Why do we pay a "cleaning fee" when it doesn't appear cleaning has been done? And ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! No one at the front desk after 10pm. It's now 10:20am and still no one at the front desk or has anyone returned our calls after leaving a message with the office. read more

We rented a deluxe king room with fireplace and in room hot tub. There were no instructions given at check in for use of the fireplace. It appears to be a true wood burning fireplace. I would be nervous to use it though....and it's not like they said, "The firewood is located...." When was the chimney last cleaned? It just seemed like a lot. The hot tub drain plug was stripped so the tub didn't hold water. Needless to say, we spent one night and then left. Wouldn't waste the money on any "upgraded" room here because they upgrades are not functional. The area is pretty and the bike/walking paths were lovely. It's a pretty dead area past 8:00 pm. Didn't disappoint us, as we aren't into much night life. They appear to be trying to make improvements and renovations to the property but as with any kind of project, schedules be damned. Probably wouldn't stay here again. ***edit: to add insult to injury, they internet is no longer working. There's nobody to call to reset it either because the front desk staff leaves at 8 pm. Table in family room broke, hair in bathroom, sink would not drain, toilet was so lose, and visible stains on white bedding that i have to cover up with. Great service and very clean. It would not be a problem for most but we were unaware that the room we would be in was only accessible by stairs. One of us has severe arthritis and a meniscus tear so the stairs were unforgiving. Our room was also inside where the indoor pool was and there were people in the pool making noises until close to midnight. It didn't bother us because we were awake but it could have potentially bothered someone else. We actually loved our room it was just inconvenient to access. If there could have been a pathway that accessed the outside door near our room that could have been helpful. Everyone we encountered was extremely friendly. My mother had been booking her driver a room there when traveling for years but there had been some rudeness the last time. So glad the new owner seems to be fixing that problem and doing some great new updates. read more

We had been there before not good but gave it a second try! Room had supposedly been renovated ! At first looked nice but they have not fully redone the bathroom area. The down part is the upkeep! Housekeeper is bad. We found dirty towels on bathroom door, mice droppings behind bathroom door, and broken toilet seat (which was replaced first night). Doors to patio would stay shut or locked! It's sad because grounds are beautiful they are adding more but they are doing theirs selves an injustice by not totally carrying through on renovations and making sure their crews clean properly.
