I know. Why am I rating these guys 4 stars. Is this a FLELP? Obviously he didn't get towed by them. I did. I'm not an incredibly smart man, but I am intelligent enough to know what direction my finger should be pointed towards. That finger. It's not towards these guys. Having said that, calling them on one of the busiest nights miami has to offer wasn't bad. The 'operator' was courteous and very very patient. I was on hold for a few short seconds while they were figuring out if they had my car or not. That's really unexpected when you're dealing with a slimeball business like towing. These guys act like its just a job they do day in and day out only with humanity towards the car owners. Plus they charge some dollars less than the other towing company a few blocks south, and those guys were apparently douche-y. By no means is this review a "Yay! I'm a fan.", but they helped me out good enough and courteous enough to know these guys aren't the ones to blame. Getting towed when your car breaks down is a necessity and I appreciate the tow truck and driver for being available. Getting towed when you overstay paid parking by several minutes is a big pain - lost time, money and effort. Be careful where you park in Miami Beach. And be very wary of lots where flaggers in yellow vests are stationed. These can be predatory towing lots with the flaggers working with towing companies. I parked at Bank of America lot at 930 Washington Street on 12/31/2017 where there was a flagger. My thought was "Hey, a flagger so someone will be there to prevent theft." WRONG. I paid to park for 3 hours and came back early to add another 2 hours - that's $50 for 5 hours. Had I been able to ADD time to the parking via an app it would have expired at 7:10 PM. The time expired at 6:49 PM on the receipt. I showed up at 7:15 PM and the car was already gone. It takes at least 10 minutes to pull a vehicle out of the tight parking slot. The time on the tow receipt that the vehicle arrived at the Tremont impound lot says 7:25 PM - ten minutes after I showed up. Tremont charged $281 to tow the car less than 2 miles. There is only one way for Tremont to arrive within 10 minutes of the time expiring and that is by having a deal with the flaggers to contact them when time expires. Fortunately for me, I managed to find the person who leases the parking lot at 930 Washington Street. I explained the situation and he stated he had a "strict grace period for the towing companies." I sent him my meter tickets and tow receipt. He agreed that Tremont towed too soon and told them to refund me the $281. I got the full refund in cash from Tremont but wasted a lot of time and effort on a tow that never should have happened. read more

They have an F by the BBB for a reason. Absolutely horrendous people. Never park at pay by phone location 330445. They scout out in the rain to take cars while people are running trying to get back. They towed our car 3 minutes after the payment expired because we were running through the pouring rain. When we called they said they had literally just picked up our car and we had to walk through the storm to get to the lot. The car hadn't even gotten to the lot yet and it cost $240!!! Their adress is WRONG and they do NOT answer their phone - which means at 4 AM on freaking Thursday I had to coerce my friends to drive up and down Bay Rd looking for this place for A FREAKING HOUR before they even answered the phone to give us the right adress. Turns out, they didn't have my car, but instead Beach Towing did - but the geniuses who work their weren't so good at the checking-if-a-silver-volvo-was-parked-in-their-lot thing. After checking the Google maps street view, it APPEARS that this company has moved it's location only as of recently - just so you know, they are NOW LOCATED AT: 1861 Bay Rd. These guys are always screaming around the neighborhood in their trucks, pretending that they are police, running red lights and screeching around the corners. If you live around the west end of Lincoln, you know what I mean. I keep saying to myself, one of these days, one of these Tremont guys is going to kill someone. I guess, if they haven't already. And their towing isn't like AAA-helping-motorists-in-distress. This is more of the kind where they grab cars from lots all over the place and haul them back to Sunset Harbor and hold them hostage, just because you parked in the parking lot of the bank that closed six hours ago for ten minutes while you ran into some store to pick something up. But man -- when I see them speeding all over the place in those big heavy trucks, running stop signs and doing full-speed rights-on-reds, it really makes me scared for the walkers, joggers, scooter riders and bicyclists in the neighborhood. Right away want to mention lots of banks around the corners where you can withdrawal cash with no fees, their ATM charge $6 per each $100 so when you already pay $300 - walking. Had my car towed lots of times, but this one was the worst and very unpleasant. Beware. Always check your car after they tow it, for some reason 2 of my friends got their cars scratched soo badly that the repair costed more than their $281 fee. Same happened to me, I got towed in the place where it doesn't have any signs of illegal parking, but lets continue to the biggest point.... When I came - they said to show my id which is in the car and when I came inside their lot, knowing my car signs of use I got shocked from the front scratch on the bumper which was totally fresh made, it costed me a lot. Of course you can't prove now anything like in my country, I don't feel like I am in USA no more with such a rude and irresponsible people who cares just about money and don't care if they damaged your car. Horrible people! Just won a court case against them for the damage they did to my car. They try to drag it out and make you keep coming to court. Then they bring their thugs to testify that your car was "already like that." They lie under oath! And the Miami Beach police are in on it. They have a pre-written pad of police reports just for Tremont Towing. And Miami Beach gets some of the money from the towing. Its a racket! The police write you a ticket and call the tow company right away to tow you. And they go so fast they damage your car. But they do not care. They just deny it and drag it out and hope you go away. They write up a report that shows your car has scratches ALL over it so that you cannot "prove" they did it. However when the towtruck drops your car at their lot, a forklift moves your car into neat rows. I paid the meter at this rip-off parking lot "1248 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL" I ran a little over my limit and they towed my car for $241....I find this amount absolutely ridiculous. How does this company or any other company get allowed to charge someone so much?? Is there no regulation on Miami Beach?? Even though I went over my time limit the most common thing is to receive a ticket, but the asshole guy who was managing this parking lot decided to tow everyone - whether you paid or not. Car got towed from private property, I called the same day it was towed and they told me my total was $240.00 CASH ONLY (which is a lie) the next morning, I called before arriving at the lot to double check the amount my total was up to $318.00 - both phone calls were made under 24hrs after they picked up my car. Had I not thought too seek out a legal opinion I would have paid the $318.00 learn the Miami Beach Towing Bill of rights, ask questions.. After I asked three important questions all the sudden my total went down to $210.00. Tremont Towing- Everyone in our building has had a guest deal with these A-Holes! I was doing laundry and had a bathrobe on, went to check on my boyfriends clothes and I happened to see that they were towing a car, when I look down from the balcony, I see that they have my boyfriends motorcycle. I screamed wait, and the A-HOLE said, come down and talk to me about it, I said " I am not dressed." I run down the stairs with only a bathrobe on (mind you, soaking wet hair and its 55 degrees and windy). I tell the guy, "Please stop I live here, and that's my boyfriends motorcycle. We aren't parked illegally, just please put it back down- he is going to leave now." A-HOLE replies, "sure for $150.00, it will cost you $250.00 to get it once it's off the truck." WOW- Really can you say EXTORTION!!! So I run up and tell my boyfriend, he runs out with his underwear on and clothes in hand ( that I just got from the dryer) Next thing you know its midnight, i am getting dressed and A-HOLE is taking us to the bank in his tow truck. I had paid for parking in the lot of the Shoppes at West Avenue, which houses a Starbucks. I was visiting someone, who lives in the condo building across, and was told that was where visitors were to park, as there is no garage attached to the condo building. It was late at night and I paid as much money on the meter as it would allow. The garage had plenty of empty spaces, so although the machine would not accept more money, considering it is a public city-owned garage, and not someone's reserved spot, I did not think towing would ever be an issue, there were plenty of empty spots and to reiterate, the machine would not accept more money, so what was I to do? Lucky me though, a few minutes after the ticket expired, I went to my car and of course, my car was gone. I rubbed my eyes, checked once, twice, and yes, that was the spot where my car was parked, and now, it was empty. Literally, within 10 minutes of the ticket expiring. I was going to try to put in more money into the meter to see if it would allow me to do so this time, but I never got the chance. More than 80% of the lot was empty, and at that time, no business in the area was open, so really, what need was there to do this? None. It's all a corrupt money-making scheme. I have never been towed. I once got a parking ticket and expected that if anything, I would get one this time and I had no issue paying the $20 for a parking violation and arguing about the machine's issues, but instead, I was slapped with a $280 retrieval fee from this company, ruining my holiday gift-giving. They would not listen about the machine experiencing technical difficulties and I had to inconvenience someone in the wee hours of the morning to take me to their yard. To make matters worse, my car's door handle was scratched. It is incredibly sad to see that there is no solution to avoiding these thieves, and if I could, I'd give them 0 stars. My mother told me to report them to the police, but considering the whole City of Miami Beach is a corrupt mess, as is the whole county (and the rest of South Florida, for that matter), I know I won't get anywhere. The crooks are all in bed together. So yes, thanks for ruining my holidays, Tremont. We parked in an area with a pay-to-park meter. Paid the meter. After coming back to our car within the allotted amount of time we had to park, the truck was gone. Someone working at a business nearby approached and asked if we were the Ford F-150, to which we responded yes, and he said he saw the truck towed himself. All in all, cost $240 to get the truck back. We're from Texas so of course we have a Texas license plate, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it, but if someone wants to give us a heads up as to what to do differently next time, that'd be super helpful.
