Appointment was rescheduled for the afternoon of 11/18 and unfortunately there was a fuel truck rollover that closed I95N and congested other routes to the salon that prevented my wife from making it to her appointment. After the salon canceled the original appointment with less than 24 hours notice you might have thought that they would be accommodating of a long time client that couldn't get to the appointment on time due to the road closure. This business has been here for twenty years and will probably continue for many more. It is a clean comfortable environment with good spacious seating and services for hair styling and nails. Maria is the owner and takes running her salon seriously. She is often there when I get my hair cut and is overseeing all that goes on there, and cuts hair as well. Michelle, has been my hairdresser for years. I have had a couple of hair styles and color changes, and have been satisfied with each one (Not easy to find someone like that). She is personable, efficient and accommodating. Morgan usually answers the phone, does scheduling and checks you out for payment. She has always been very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, in the Charlestown/Westerly area Yelp hasn't really taken off on anything but restaurants, and even that's debatable. So, I finally stumbled on some older reviews on FourSquare and decided to make an appointment with Paula. Paula is great! She's super friendly and makes you feel very comfortable during a situation which could be considered rather awkward. This wasn't my first Brazilian, however I can see how Paula would be great at helping you feel comfortable and walking you through the process if you are debating getting your first. I was also happy to find out that by rebooking (she suggests every 3 weeks) you're entitled to a reduced rate since it's considered maintenance versus a full on Brazilian. (I do enjoy saving money, however I also know not to go cheapo when it comes to Brazilians. My first experience was horrific, but I guess that's what I get for going to a salon that only charges $29...) I've already booked my next appointment with Paula and highly recommend you do the same!
