I went here for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't very crowded. The mushroom salsa that they brought out with our chips was so delicious! I had the chicken sopes and my husband had the pollo rellanos and both were so good. Also, the michelados are now my favorite in town. I've been to other restaurants where the chicken tastes dry, but their chicken was moist and seasoned well. I definitely will be coming back here again. read more

Only open one month when we came, and we are so glad we did. They bring a mushroom salsa with the traditional chips and salsa at the start of the meal. So Amazing! We ordered sopes, and the molcajete traditional. Both had fantastic flavors. The fire roasted jalapeño on the molcajete was probably the hottest thing I have eaten in in my life.... danger! Very Good food, and attentive staff! I'll start by saying I am from Texas and I eat Mexican food at least half of my meals. I am an enchilada lover, and a salsa critic to Say the least. This place did not disappoint! Red enchilada sauce was very good with a light earthy undertone, but not a ton of spice (heat). The tortillas were rolled perfectly, and were soft, but not mushy. The cheese enchilada had the perfect amount of cheese and was melted to perfection. The beef enchilada was correctly assembled and had a great flavor also. The ground beef crispy taco stole the show, as this was a truly Perfect taco shell (both in flavor and crisp texture), and the taco meat was very well Seasoned. Beans were tasty as well As The rice. The red salsa had a good flavor to accompany the great basket of chips (cooked perfectly also). The mushroom salsa was interesting, but I must admit it was pretty good also! Beans are the 3rd item served as an appetizer and they were good (same as my entree beans). I highly recommend this place over any other Mexican food I have Ever eaten in the state of Colorado, or within 400 miles of Cheyanne for that matter! We are locals and went to the Del range location. The steak in my fajitas was as tough as my shoe and tasted like old beef. Someone else on yelp mentioned that about the steak too and I wished I had listened! My husband's meal, the chicken burritos was delicious! Nachos were standard, but good. Would go again, but will only order items with chicken. read more

This restaurant is a bit out of the way in west Cheyenne on LincolnWay near the I-25 ramp. We were seated for lunch promptly, and a server arrived with warm bean dip, a conventional salsa and their unique mushroom salsa. I confess, I did not do very well sharing the mushroom salsa; it was very good. Our orders were taken promptly, soft drinks served, and then our scrumptious dishes. My wife had two enchiladas, and I had a combination with a chimichanga and a Chile relleno. Both entrees were served with frijoles refritos, seasoned white rice and salad. The portions were large; we each took home part of our meals for later. I feel that this is the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Cheyenne, eclipsing both Guadalajara restaurants and the Tortilla Factory. Sure, you could discount me as being a Wyoming native not capable of making such a judgment. However, I have dined up and down US-99 in California from Bakersfield to Reedley. Food was fast. Unfortunately too fast. The quote time was 10-15 minutes arrived at 15minutes. Food was ice cold honestly I'm concerned the queso was so cold it didn't move In the cup. Tried colored burrito cold. Taco salad meat also cold. Worried about food safety issues here and I didn't eat. We will see if I wake up sick from the little I attempted to eat. Yikes!!! Delicious Mexican food at the western edge of Cheyenne. My wife had the Chicken Fajitas, which were very good with generous portions. The tamales were excellent, clearly made fresh by an expert, and the carne asada was really good. There's something for just about everyone, including good drink choices. Delicious! Loved the cheese enchiladas, sauce was a bit extra tomato in flavor but a tasty. Chips, salsa, rice & beans perfect. The mushroom salsa bright with lots of lime, very nice. My husband ordered the el Pastor and said it was very good, he likes the meat a little bit more crispy but the seasoning was spot on. Terrible worst so called Mexican food ever. Tiny over priced portions and drinks. What Mexican restaurant doesn't have fried taco ill I got was a tint taco with a grocery store hard taco shell. Ordered what they called a cheese crisp uugh no tint tortilla with beans and cheese tortilla burnt couldn't eat it and waitress was not interested I couldn't eat it never offered a replacement or anything just left Never again wasted money Tortilla Factory is way better. Finally, a decent Mexican restaurant in Cheyenne! Actually there are two locations now. Great salsas and sauces for the traditional Mexican dishes including a unique take on pork green chili. The Lincoln Way location is a little out of the way but it is clean with great service on the multiple occasions I have visited. The menu is large and includes the Molcajete. Not many US based Mex restaurants offer this authentic dish and Tres Amigos does it pretty well. I would only ask that they add some nopalitos and charizo to the dish. The margaritas are a little sweet for me and the micheiladas are just Ok (hold the ice). I'm being a bit critical of some minor things but all-in-all this place is pretty good and I will continue to dine here. Recommended! read more

We're just passing through and staying at La Quinta next door. We knew we needed to find supper and decided to try Tres Amigos. We're happy we did because it was delicious! Everything was very fresh and all the flavors were bright. I had the carne asada and my son had tri colored enchiladas. The chips came with a salsa, a bean dip and something we had never had, a mushroom salsa I guess you'd call it. Whatever it's called, it was a hit with us both! Our server was friendly and attentive. Amazing veggie fajitas. No cheese, no sour cream. The sauce on these fajita veggies was like nothing I've ever had before and I was so bummed I couldn't finish (great portions) because I visited while driving through. I was a little nervous as when I went in to pickup the food, the inside looked a little run down. I was worried it wouldn't be sanitary. When people were leaving the restaurant (lots of older customers) they all talked about how amazing the food they just ate was. I was the thrilled. Only con was part of the rice was a tiny bit stale maybe, could have been another factor. One other thing was one of the customers had to get up and go get their own silverware as the waiter didn't seem quick at all, so can't vouch as service. Food was amazing. read more

Tres Amigos - Amazing veggie fajitas. No cheese, no sour cream - Mexican Near Me - Cheyenne, Wyoming

I should probably preface this by saying I have lived in central Mexico and the Texas border. This wasn't authentic to either place. The queso fundido is made with Monterrey Jack (it shouldn't be), the tacos Al carbon tasted like Guadalajara's and is not what a taco Al carbon should be. The queso fresco in the description wasn't queso fresco, i think it was Monterrey Jack. Carbon means grilled meat, it wasn't. The seafood soup tasted like watered down tomato soup. The flauta wasn't crispy. The carnitas was the best thing on the table. Tender, slow cooked. They were a little skimpy with the quantity, but according to my son probably the best in town. The sauces ( a warm habenero sauce and the sauce on the torta) are weird, thick and goopy. Like there is flour in them. The mushroom salsa was good and the red salsa they brought with the chips was good. Over all the food was very similar to Guadalajara's, and we pretty much decided we prefer Guadalajara (actually, my kitchen is better than both of them). I doubt we will be back, It wasn't for us. A lot of people seem to like it though. Service was slow. Drinks weren't refilled and I finally went to the counter to pay. To replicate that mushroom salsa: chop mushrooms and onions, squeeze on a little lime and salt and stir to coat. The lime will "cook" the mushrooms and onion. The longer you let it sit the softer it will be. Add cilantro and you have it. This is actually quite common in central Mexico but it is used as a filling for empanadas. This is the first time I ever saw it in a bowl and used as a salsa. read more

Went for late lunch. Ordered a taco and enchilada off the lunch combo menu. Taco came with a large piece of metal that was about dime size. It looked like it was off the end of a roll of ground beef. It was cooked with the meat since there was ground beef embedded into the center of it. I could have broken a tooth or swallowed it. Showed it to the waitress who took it somewhere. No offer to compensate me. We were sitting where I could see into the kitchen, quite a mess and a toddler was sitting on a counter. Highly recommend for excellent Mexican food. Everything here is awesome. Service is top notch. I frequent the location on Dell Range. Staff is super friendly, food comes out quick but fresh and piping hot. Salsa is among the best I've ever had and this food compares to the quality and flavor of something you'd get on the Mexican border in Southern California.
