I used this bus to and from LA to TJ about 2 years ago. Everything was all good. So I'm super surprised to see the bad ratings. I had a hard time remembering the name of this bus line and now that I have, I feel a little afraid to book since I need to be in TJ at a very specific time for an appointment. Bus interior not maintained. Drivers taking pay offs for side stops not in route. Risking the safety of passengers. Customer service does not properly inform passengers of boarding processes and luggage loading. Passengers are sold seats for their children over 3 years and are not guaranteed a seat. Inexpensive. However they're all run down buses. We took a bus down to TJ and back to avoid taking our car and it was quite the experience! We stopped at a dozens locations which made the trip super long. There were people getting on and off the bus selling trinkets and sodas and snacks. It felt like we were waiting to cross the border but we were only in Santa Ana.! You get way you pay for. All these people complaining about riding a bus to Texas are plain dumb. Y'all charge your Gucci bags and LV belts to a credit card, why not a flight to see your love ones ? Furthermore, if y'all worried about a time schedule, why not drive to TJ? Or catch an earlier bus ride to the boarder. But typical Hispanics, we wait till the last minutes for stuff. Thankfully for me, this company was there. I flew from LAS to SD to catch a game. I needed a ride back to LA the following day. Uber would of been above $200, this company charged me $20. Do not use this bus!! I traveled from el Paso Texas to los Angeles , bus broke down 30 min into our destination , replacement bus took 1 1/2 to get there . driver was very rude to me when I asked a question . Bathrooms on both buses have no toilet paper .. They smell and have no light if ur traveling at night . Driver was speeding above 90 miles per hour trying to get back to schedule.. Mind me I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant .. There were kids in the bus.. It was veryyyyyy scary .. Specially since it was during the night . driver wouldn't even slow down in turns . Everyone seems to hate TEO (except for the low prices) but I've never had a real problem. I use them for runs from L.A. to the Mexican border. Just $30 RT. Yes the buses can be a little dingy (and so can many of Greyhound's fleet) but for a short 3 hour or so trip, I can deal with it. And yes, punctuality is not a TEO strength. If you're a stickler to a schedule, forget it. They often run late. But usually I'll grab a 9:30 am bus to the border and it arrives before 1 p.m. A little longer than Greyhound because they spend a while stopped at Huntington Park where most of the riders board. Never had a problem with the drivers since I never need to interact with them. They get me there and back. That's all that's important to me. Greyhound has plenty flaws also, so what's the point of ragging? read more

I witnessed extremely dangerous speed for a bus, especially on a highway with curves and some hills. Not only was I in fear for any possible passengers, I was greatly in fear for everyone on the highway. I crept back to a snail's pace anticipating it toppled over in the many miles ahead. It looked like it was very top heavy swaying and traveling at about 80+mph, exceeding the normal speed. I wish no ill on the company, but please practice safe driving. read more

This is the worst service ever, and I'll explain why. Going to T.J. The bus makes 1 stop at Fontana and the bus driver announced that he would be waiting for 10 min for people to use the restroom. I got off and used the restroom( I took 5 min at the most, I just needed to wash my hands) when I came out the restroom the bus was gone with my stuff!!! I called the Huntington park station (because that's where I caught the bus) and all they told me is the next bus MIGHT let me on and that my stuff would be waiting for me at Sanisidro. Needless to say my things where all gone. And I had to but a whole another picket. This is absolutely the worst service I had ever had, my advice to anyone thinking about even using this company is go Greyhound instead. Next time I think I'll walk to my destination. read more

Once the radiator got messed up, another time a wheel popped and we were late, next old bus had no a.c. and it was so hot on the bus. These buses need a lot of maintenance and the company knows it and will still drive them like that. My sister took a bus from LA to EL Paso with her little daughter. Once she got there she was one of the last people to get off and when she did her luggage was gone. The bus driver and the employees did not help her or guarantee her money back or a free ticket not any sort of reenbursment they didnt even apologize. 100 round trip from l.a to El Paso for adult and 70 for child but with their services it's not even worth it. read more

Should of read comments before using this company because the comments are very useful. My mom and sister were traveling to Guadalajara through this company. It was supposed to be a straight road trip to Guadalajara. This bus company gave them a set time and date, The day before the trip the bus company called to reschedule them for the following day with the excuse the bus company hadn't sold enough seats and was not a full bus (I wonder why) when on their recording they say buses leave every half our to TJ, and after rescheduling the bus company called three different times to switch the time of departure, finally after several re-scheduling they got to leave. When they finally got to TJ they told my mom and sister their bus won't leave from TJ till 10pm to Guadalajara remember when they sold us the tickets the never said they were going to switch buses in Tijuana. When I tried to talk to a supervisor and try to fix the issue The representative in TJ said that this bus line ESTRELLA DE ORO never communicated with them. My Mom and sister were stuck in Tijuana's bus terminal waiting for their next bus the following day at 10 pm When I called to complain and ask to talk to a supervisor a person named Cecilia came to the phone I asked how come my family still waiting for another bus when I thought it was a straight trip to Guadalajara, I asked how she was going to fix the problem and she said they give me a discount on your next trip. I have experienced a great delay to my destination. When I traveled from El Paso, TX to Los Angeles. I arrives at 10:00AM not 6:30AM-7AM. The reason they took longer is because we had to pick up other people from the other bus that broke down in the middle of the freeway. My dad experience something worse. He said that last time he travel with TEO the tired got flat and they arrived to El Paso 20 hrs later. From the reviews only 1 person out of 10 gave a good review. Sad. read more

Horrible service employees are unaware of bus schedules they say one time but when you get there its not even the time they had told you initially. There is no such thing of good customer service the girls that work there have the worst attitude ever they try to look down at customers. Also, i was given a price over the phone from Anaheim to Tj airport of 24.00 but when i was ready to pay the girl said she had done a mistake on giving the price and that it was 32 i strongly believe that the ticktes are 24 and they just keep the difference. NO its no good. The service is crap and the drivers have no professional mannerism. My daughter took their bus only because it was cheap. Remember, you get what you paid for so thats her fault too for choosing them. She has never traveled before and didnt know where she was. She was asleep when they reached her stop at four in the morning and the dummy driver didnt wake her up. So, right now we are trying to find them. Not much money on them except to eat for the trip. Absolutely worst dependability ever! Several years ago my mom traveled from Los Angeles to El Paso she was told departure would be at 7pm and arrival approximately 8:30/9am the following morning the bus broke down and no one was available to help them...no substitute bus was available...my mom arrived at 6pm the following day from when she arrived...due to the delay mom missed an important family event. In 2013 my dad traveled with them for the same route due to a family emergency we couldn't afford to fly...he too was promised departure at 7pm and arrival about 12hrs later...my father did not reach Texas until 8pm the following day....no apology from the company whatsoever...due to the delay my father missed my grandfathers last breath and could not be with him when he most would of wanted to....tres estrellas is very sketchy....their buses are not reliable due to maintenance issues...people travel with them because they think they'll be safer than driving on their own and honestly I don't think that's the case...be weary... read more

Do not recommend this bus line as a method of transportation to anyone! SAVE YOUR TIME, SAVE YOUR MONEY, DO NOT USE TEO. Very bad customer service; they lie about departure times, and will not refund your ticket for any reason, even if it's a valid one. I bought my ticket at the Tijuana airport to Anaheim, CA, and was told that I would be able to board a bus once I crossed the border (they supposedly leave every hour). Once I crossed the border, the buses for the next 2HRS were already booked! I tried getting a hold of a supervisor, but none were reachable ( seriously?!? Not showing up to work til noon?!?). Finally got a hold of someone and they didn't help at all, and blamed the people in TJ for not telling me the situation and overselling tickets! As if they're not part of the same company, the supervisor did not want to take responsibility for the situation. Very bad experience! And told me my luggage would be on the next bus; however I waited hours! Called the terminals and no one knew anything. They refused to take responsibility. I missed my flight & my luggage is lost. This bus transportation so called business is horrible! I took a bus at 7PM from LA to El Paso TX a Monday night .... Expecting to arrive Tuesday morning. Well the bus broke down in Phoenix at 3:30am .... And the bus driver knowing something was wrong with the bus way before and still drove it like that...we waited there in Phoenix over 12 hours for another bus! The other bus got there around 4PM! Keeping clear elder people and children were in the bus and the heat was intense..we arrived to our destination until 11PM .. and FYI the customer service is horrible..worst experience ever .... I only have one star because it will not let you leave 0.This company has very poor service. We were suppose to leave tj at 4:00pm and did not leave until 4:30. We had to walk a cross the border and got to the other side to find out that you have re-register for another bus and that the next one would not be available for 2 hours. Shitty service all all around. They should explain how things work ahead of time. Better option is taking a taxi to the border and walking across. Then you can decide what bus is leaving and buy your ticket then. read more
