I have a high spicy tolerance and they brought out a special salsa, peppers and a sauce for me. Orders: El Gordo Special ($13.25): grilled shrimp, roasted red peppers, lettuce, avocado, rice. The shrimp was plump and grilled well. Chori Pollo ($13): grilled marinated chicken topped with cheese dip and Mexican sausage, served with rice, guacamole salad and tortillas. This was pretty good! The Mexican sausage paired well with the chicken. Chimichanga with beef ($4.25). The size and amount of meat? This was a steal. I am that person who can find something wrong anywhere I go...that being said I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The interior is beautiful with vibrant color everywhere...very inviting and quick service after entering. The drinks came out quickly, along with very good chips and salsa. The meals are huge, no way you are leaving hungry here and they were also brought out very fast...but not too fast if you know what I mean... We've been going to Tres Toritos for about 10 years, it's the place that we can depend on to have great food and equally great service. The owners serve you, cook and do the cashier work as well, they are very nice people. The restaurant is generally packed so we go early so we can get a parking spot and not have to wait for a table. You have families, groups and a wide variety of customers that frequent Tres Toritos. We will continue to go here for wonderful Mexican food and lots of it. Yesterday I got the Fajita Supreme, it's very tasty with a large portion. I had to bring home half of it. My wife got the Chimichanga with steak. She was pleased with the choice. We went for dinner and it took forever just for us to get drinks. Not even just to get them but also for a server to come up and just take our order. Food came out cold and the thing is you'd be more understanding about things like this if the service wasn't so terrible. Waitresses were so rude and clearly had attitude problems. There isn't many options in St. Clair to begin with, but on the way home today I stopped in with 3 of my daughters to eat. it was around 2:30, so we missed the crowd. We walked in and was told we could set wherever we wanted. There were 2 nice flat screens with different football games. Nice touch for a Mexican restaurant. Our waitress took our drink orders and gave us the menu. Pretty typical Mexican restaurant menu. I asked for some cheese dip along with our chips. It was quickly brought to the table and had a little extra kick to the typical white cheese. Good stuff! My girls ordered a burrito, and I had a combination platter that included a burrito, taco, enchilada and chili relleno. Although my expectation walking in was to blow me away. How lucky we spotted Tres Toritos Mexican restaurant, right off I44 and old route 66. I had the amazing tacos. They were loaded with shredded white meat chicken, delicious queso blanco and lettuce. We were on the road back to Texas and decided to get dinner from this little spot and we are SO happy we did. Fresh delicious flavor even for a take out order. The red sauce was probably the best I've ever had and there was a good amount of chicken in both the quesadilla and enchilada.
