We got a courtesy reminder the day before the technicians were scheduled to come. Zach and Tevin arrived on time and were friendly, courteous and professional. They were also very good-natured about our barky dogs! The result is better than we ever expected- so beautiful and realistic. You would never think it was an after-market insert. I've been looking for a company to replace my existing wood burning fireplace with a new gas insert…read moreas I was tired of dealing with the mess of wood and ash, so I sent a request to California Mantel & Fireplace and was promptly put in touch with Sam (sales rep) who scheduled some time to come out and see what they could do. Sam was great to speak with and he answered all of my questions and gave me what I thought was a reasonable quote (given all the increased taxes and tariffs due to the Trump administration ripping off Americans!!) and scheduled time for them to come and install a new gas insert. The installers were quick and professional and did a good job installing the new gas insert, everything looks great and the fire is warm. :)

Chris and his crew arrived right on time and were professional, clean, and extremely knowledgeable about the unit, including how to use it and maintain it going forward. The installation looks great and everything was done with attention to detail. One tip for anyone choosing the Green Start technology: ask Chris to cut back the sheetrock with a Dremel tool so the box cover plate sits perfectly flush with the wall - it makes a big difference with the finished look. Communication was timely and thorough. When unforeseen issues did arise, our decisions were easy to make. Changed orders were not overpriced. Working with the team was stress free. CF quickly jumped on it and we hadn't had any problems since. Then, a few weeks ago, our remote seemed not to work not to mention the unit itself unit was filthy. CF's tech, Will Nuezca, showed up right on time and within minutes had us up, running and with a clean unit that looks and runs like new. As an added benefit, Will took a chatty but professional approach to his task explaining what he was doing and why as he went along. Worth every nickel we spent.
