Tri-County misdiagnosed my water pressure problem in my home and recommended replacing my main water line which would have been a very costly job. Charged me $392 for this so called service. Replacing the main water line would have cost $5-6,000. I brought in another plumber recommended by a friend and he was able to isolate the real problem immediately which was a water logged pressure tank. The pressure tank was replaced and the water pressure problem in the house was solved. Tri-County would not even consider refunding any of my money and continued to insist that I still had a problem with my main water line. Whether I did or not didn't really concern me as all I was concerned with was the water pressure in the house. I will never deal with this company again. And I am not one to leave bad reviews; in fact this is the first time I have done so but their lack of customer service so irritated me. Follow up to my initial review: (01/04/2017) After submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, Tri County offered to come to my house to conduct another pressure test. This test showed once again that there was a leak in my main water line somewhere, probably close to where the water line enters the well casing. The leak, however (and this is a critical point), did not affect the water flow into the house. The only thing that was affecting this was the faulty pressure tank which after it was replaced solved the water pressure problem. I am not disputing that there may be a leak in my main water line. However, it is important to note that even with this leak, my water pressure and flow are perfectly fine after the pressure tank was replaced. I maintain that Tri County should have at a minimum, offered me an opportunity to repair the immediate problem even if it was only a temporary fix, as they maintain. The faulty pressure tank was the cause of the water pressure problems that I was having in the house and this was ignored by Tri-County. If they had identified the pressure tank as the problem and changed it out during their initial visit, we wouldn't be having this disagreement. In my view, the fact that there is a small leak in my main water line is something that I will keep an eye on but is totally irrelevant to the problems that I was having. For this reason, I am demanding a refund of at least a portion of the $392 that I paid to Tri County on November 4 for what turned out to be an erroneous or at least a misdirected diagnosis of my immediate water pressure problems. And to add insult to injury, I just received a letter from a lawyer representing Tri-County threatening me with civil action in the Frederick Circuit Court. I personally was not a customer. But this company was hired for a neighbor and the companys driver knocked down my fence in closure for two of my goats. All caught on camera. The driver just kept on driving didn't care that he damaged others property and let goats out. And when I called them they didn't apologize or anything they said the goats knocked it over because there was no damage to the truck ...I will never recommend this company because they damaged my property and than lied about it. Called for an appointment then had to cancel due to emergency.and move to the next week. They showed up anyway! When they were supposed to show up I got a call with all kinds of excuses about a broken truck and employees calling in sick...REALLY? is this the way to do business? UNRELIABLE PERIOD. read more

Can't say enough good things. They installed a whole-house filtration system and have been diligent about its maintenance over the last two years. They are always on time, do stellar work, and answer all our questions. If you have ANY plumbing, septic or filtration needs, you won't find a better company than Tri Country! Their prices are very reasonable and they don't try to sell you things that you don't need (which is more than I can say for the Culligan people). read more

In a word.. Disappointing. What started off as a promising relationship quickly turned sour. I purchased a home in January and hired Tri County to inspect the septic. We found the approximate location of the septic tank, but couldn't pinpoint the exact location. I was told that they would have to bring a backhoe to dig in one week. I requested that they install a baffle on their next visit for easier service next time. After a week, another technician came with a backhoe and drove in circles all over the property - in places that were nowhere near the septic tank - resulting in deep ruts and uprooted grass throughout the backyard. When I questioned this, they stated that they had to drive around to locate the tank. They also left without installing the baffle - resulting in another appointment (for additional fee + backhoe costs), which they rescheduled three times at the last minute, and had to bring another backhoe to the property to excavate again. Against my better judgment, I called again in July because I lost water pressure. They told me over the phone that they would charge $95 for the site visit to diagnose. They determined that the well pump died and would have to be replaced. We scheduled work to be performed on the following day; however, they tried charging $180 for the initial visit which we refused to pay. They stated that they charge $95 for the visit, and $85 for each additional hour spent (this was never explained over the phone). The following morning (still without water), I stayed home from work to be present for the pump replacement; however, I received a phone-call from the manager stating that they decided not to come, because they felt slighted from the day before when we refused to pay the additional $85. Bear in mind, our pump replacement (with replacement wires at $1.85 per foot) was resulting in $2,700.00 which we were going to pay them. This place is a joke. Called to have them come over to give me a quote on replacing my old water softener system and installing a UV light, thinking this would be a free quote, ended up costing me over 200 dollars!! When I had initially called to schedule the appointment it was never mentioned that there would be a fee for this service, then on top of the fee they had the nerve to charge me overtime fees because the tech was late getting over, (I had a morning appointment that was push back by them til after 3:00). I don't expect to get things for free and agreed to pay the $75 service charge but that wasn't good enough for them, (to be fair they did take $30 off my bill, so for the 30 minutes the tech was there it cost me $183!!) They lost a potential long term customer over their greed. The next day I called another well service company to install my UV light, $200 cheaper for the exact same model with no hidden fees. Take my advice and look elsewhere there are other companies around that won't take advantage. read more

When the power went out, our well system would not send water to the faucets and such... so we called Tri-county. The first set of guys that came out seemed to have little experience and didn't know anything about the well filtration system. They stated that their only knowledge was in well pumps. They were able to bypass my filtration system and get the water running again, but it was unfiltered. A few weeks later, another technician came to have a look at it, made some recommendations but did not have the parts to complete the job, so returned two weeks later. The well is now fixed but it was very expensive for the little work that was done. All in all, a small part ($150) was replaced and some pipes were bypassed, but I had to pay for two service calls ($120/each) which did not include any labor or materials and for four hours of work... at $95/hour. Very UNPROFESSIONAL and UNACCEPTABLE customer service. When buying a house, scheduling a septic inspection should be the LEAST of your worries. The false and inaccurate information that was given to us was completely unnecessary. Our inspection was not completed on the day it was scheduled and Tri County never notified us, but instead took it upon themselves to schedule another appointment for the following week to dig up the yard resulting in fees more than double what we were originally quoted. Again, with no mention or confirmation that this needed to be done. We were only aware that the inspection was not done when we called the following week to obtain the reports. Luckily, we called and got this information before they were able to go back and have rescheduled our inspection with a more notable company. The employees at Tri County continuously told us lies about what was going on, trying to put the blame on the seller. They took no responsibility for their inaccuracies and never once apologized to me for the immense inconvenience this has caused us in the process. We sent multiple emails and left voice message with no response or returned call, however they were still planning to go on the new scheduled day to dig up the yard. Unfortunately, in today's marketplace, customer service and professional integrity are often lacking in many businesses. I am happy to say this is not the case with Tri County Pump Services. Our well pump had failed, and we had been out of water for several days while I tried desperately to find someone to come look at the problem. When I called Tri County, they immediately scheduled me service, even though they had an extremely busy schedule that day. When my technicians arrived (Jeff and Cody) they quickly found the problem, explained what was wrong and offered me a few solutions for repairs. Thy did not pressure me into buying something more than what I needed, however, they did offer me some very practical advice based on my needs and financial situation. They didn't do anything until I understood the situation, was comfortable with the solution, and had all my questions and concerns addressed. While they performed the repairs, they were both polite and personable, and respected both myself and my property. These young men are a refreshing example of what real customer service should be like. The final cost was exactly what I was quoted, and based on previous repairs with other companies, was more than fair for the job I had done. I have other repairs needed on my hot water heater and other plumbing concerns and have schedule then to return next week for another service call. I appreciate the attention to detail, pride taken in their work, polite-friendly staff, and quality of the repairs. read more
