Employees are really friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great selection of sports gear. Exactly what I was looking for.

They do have a good reward system and military discount the knowledge of most of the employees is very minimum but they seem to be addressing the problem. Mark in the gun area is by far one of the most knowledgeable employees willing to share every tip He has to offer as of the rest of the kids back there they don't know anything about most of the stuff they are selling except possible one specific area. read more

I love this place! They offer a variety of items from clothing, shoes, camping, books, kitchen, hardware, etc. New to Tristate, and the area. Have shopped here twice. They offer some quality and name brand items, which tend to more expensive, but not everything in the store is. My second visit was to pick up a doorknob. They had the best price in town and a nice selection. I called first and they gave prices over the phone. When I went in I was helped extensively picking out the right one. Outstanding customer service. Both times I've visited staff was helpful and friendly. It was obvious the employees like where they work. That says a lot about a store. I I was given a pair of shoes from a friend from tri state outfitters. In 2 and a half weeks the soles separated and fell off the shoe. By the time I returned to the store I was 34 days past purchase. The store policy for the show is 30 days. i Was informed by an employee the warranty for the identical shoe is one year at REI. They finally agreed to return the shoes after I cleaned the shoe of the dirt on them. I walked into the restroom with my daughter who needed to use the facility and while she was going to the bathroom I cleaned the shoes off. The lady manager walked right in the mens bathroom while my daughter was using the facility and asked me to leave. Other employees were appalled at the poor behavior. I asked her for a little pricacy and she stood there until we left. after this they would only give in store credit even though they had the receipt and they would t stand by their own product. Happy to have this store in town. Good selection of outdoor gear, clothing and the attached hardware store is a plus. Some prices are higher on some things than you might expect but most are the same as REI with prices at MSRP. Ammo and gun transfer fees are high though. Bring back the community bulletin board and popcorn machine!! read more

It's like REI meets a Cabela's and also smashed into a hardware store and a Macy's kitchen department. It's pretty much got everything you could possibly need! I've bought shoes, baking trays, clothes, paint, shovels and bug spray here. I'd prefer to shop here rather than WalMart. What I'm a huge fan of is the kitchen section. I have a background working in a bakery and I have to say I'm very impressed with their kitchen section. They have items that I have a hard time finding in big cities and speciality shops. Tri-State Outfitters - So many shoes - Shoe Stores Near Me - Moscow, Idaho

I had a great experience with the shoe sales associate whom first helped me but once I had to return to the store to pick up the item that was ordered it went all down hill. I ordered a pair of insoles that were out of stock but on sale. They said they were able to honor the sales price when I came to pick up and pay for the item. Well, once the insoles came in they were no longer willing to honor that sale price because the company had updated a few things including packaging. The best they could do was 10% off which was no where as good as a deal as the sale. I was upset and left without purchasing the insoles. read more

I agree with the reviews about Tri-State, it's like REI and then more.... Some products are a bit on the high price, but the product speaks for the quality and the warranty, (depending on the product purchased though..). I enjoy going to Tri-State, to window shop on the kitchen items, camping items, high quality sports gears and smelling the popcorn (sorry can't have any popcorn). We finally purchased a sports shoe with Tige... what a phenomenal guy!!! He knows his products well.... he could sell us the whole store!! On a serious note, he really does know his shoe product really well and other products in the store.. from the form fitting to the way one's feet walk (supination, pronation, overpronation, underpronation... bla bla bla)... he knows what shoes to recommend and why. He is very good with customers in the way he conduct himself very professionally, with confidence, I appreciate how he treated my boyfriend and me, even though I was there for my boyfriend. Tige is excellent when it comes to customer service. I also like the other side of the store, it has varieties of chocolates, seasonings that are locally made in Idaho or the Palouse area, candles, the kitchen Items and the little unique gadgets, fun to window shop for now and I may purchase later. Good job Tri-State with your customer service, as I do come back to a store based on how I am treated, the quality of products and not so much the price. I'm not in Moscow, Idaho very often, but next time I venture back, you'll be certain I'm visiting Tri-State for another go round. This place has got everything! As I was checking out with my new pair of sandals/shoes and Nalgene bottle, I noticed the guy in front of me was buying bullets and a bag of M&Ms and the girl behind me buying diapers and some freshly made keys. Now doesn't that sound like a place you'd like to shop at? This place has it all and then some, and I loved every minute of it. My only wish would be for it to be closer to Seattle. read more

Decent overall store, but definitively not an REI as others have stated. Shoe/boot selection is lacking, some merrell Hiking shoes they only have one or 2 left. Inside manager was extremely polite, but when a customer says to a cashier " thank you have a great day " and they just look t you and don't care to reply as others have mentioned WTH? is going on??? read more

We stopped at Tri-State to get bug juice and take a look at their shoes. As a city boy, I was VERY impressed by their selection of shoes. Forget the fancy pants outlets of REI or Eastern Mountain Sports, Tri State has shoes! Not only did they have a huge selection, they actual maintained a selection of sizes in most of their shoes, too. I was particularly impressed by the selection of low rise, multi-function trail shoes. In a small town like Moscow, perhaps it is the community's most interesting store. I'm a fan! read more

Always great to find locally owned private businesses doing well. Enjoyed walking through the store and picked up some great sunglasses. I really like seeing businesses like this thriving in an Amazon world. Hopefully they can continue for many years to come. This particular Tri-State has unparalleled customer service I go in there and every single time they help me find what I'm looking for without problems. The store has a really good selection especially regarding camping or anything outdoors. The building is clean, well lit, and organized. The other shoppers seem to be kind and it isn't too crowded in the building. The management is superb - they do a really good job with their employees and their organization. As I stated before all the employees are quick to help you and they don't seem to have a drop of arrogance. Parking outside is usually not a problem. The only con is the ludicrous mark-up they instill on all of their products. I usually come here before an item or two regarding outdoor activities or camping, however because of the price I don't load my cart here. Most of their goods are high quality and usually have warranties when applicable. I also believe that they have some kind of customer rewards program if you're into that sort of thing. read more

Really? I'm surprised at all the raving reviews. If this is Idaho's most interesting store, Idaho is a very boring place. Sure, Tri-State has some interesting little things, and some fun kitchenware, but overall the store is.. dull. Dull and pricey are the two words I have for it. Interesting, not really. This is truly Idaho's most interesting store. Ever since Macy's went out of business it's the only spot to go to for some clothes that's not a thrift shop, walmart, or the consignment shop (which is pretty awesome). Where else can you go pick up a hammer, some jeans, a gun, and chaco sandals? Probably walmart, but Tri-State is local and has much better quality. I love this place and it will always be my go-to while in Moscow! read more

Nice people. I have purchased everything from guns and ammo to clothing with them, and price was always good if not great and the quality is there. Think REI quality brands at much lower prices. Heck, I got a pistol from them after shopping around and it cost me $125 less there PLUS free scope mounting and boresight. I live in Boise now, but when I purchase guns I'll make that 6 hour drive. I have friends I can visit there anyway, and between the savings and the people behind the counter at Tri State, I don't think I would even feel comfortable shopping for guns elsewhere. read more

These cashiers seem to very much dislike their jobs or maybe the fact they are employed and having to work weekends? No smiles, no greeting, slow, slow, slow! Prices typically reflect the quality of the product, but they do have great sales too-- just bought a fabulous-quality daypack for cheaper than pricing through online stores. Went into Tri State for the first time in over a year. Walked to the 'gun shop' counter where I stood for ten minutes. No help. No employees. Nothing. Very disappointed. Left store for Wal-Mart. Was met at the gun counter by 'Dan' and he helped me immediately. Checked me out and away I went. I had read a review about Tri State the morning I went in the store(I was looking for the store hours on line) and was sadly proven wrong. Customer service is not on their list of priorities. If you want to buy camping gear, a new toaster, a gift for your mom, and some "just add beer pancake mix", all at the same time, then you have come to the right place. Actually I bought some of said pancake mix and it was really good, I put some of the dark chocolate maple syrup I bought here on them...Mm Mm Good. I agree with all the reviews on here. When going to Tri-State for the first time, I would allow a few hours to peruse everything. The kitchen supplies are a bit spendy, but great. There is a full ACE hardware store within it as well. Lots of good outdoorsy or just plain northwesty clothes including North Face, Columbia, etc. You can always find a pair of shoes you want as well. Oh I almost forgot about all the camping, hunting, fishing and outdoor rec gear, plus free coffee. The only flaw I can possibly think of is that the restrooms aren't very nice. Other than that, this place is a true gem and no visit to Moscow is complete without a stop to Tri-State. read more

Horrible Overpriced Business!!! Especially considering that the other sporting goods and hardware stores in the area have a much larger selection and much lower prices. They have lousy customer service, they have no Better Business Bureau accreditation, and they do not take care of their customers. They have misleading sales people that will tell you whatever you want to hear. read more

My 9 year old grandson constantly walks down the block to the Lewiston Tri-State Outfitters store as there are not any children in the neighborhood for him to play with when he stays with me on the weekends. The staff there have ALWAYS been friendly to this lonely little boy and know him by name. He tends to be very articulate and inquisitive and they have always answered his questions and let him browse the store by himself. He has grown to respect and care for the staff there. They have always treated him as a "little customer" and never shoo him out of the store. Today they gave him a helmet as their #1 Customer of the Year and he could not have been happier. Thank you for being so kind to my grandson and giving him a helmet he will actually use! I can't say enough about this store and their staff and my shopping experiences have always been outstanding.
