I had dislocated my shoulder and needed surgery and everyone at Tria, from the radiologists to surgeons to the physical therapy team were all amazing. There was never any waiting past appointment times and everyone was super cool, my surgeon even checked on me after the surgery, when I hear a lot of them go home afterwards. The facilities are great and the physical therapy team has a whole slew of machines and weights to train and recover on. Great place! read more

The doctors and nurse practitioner I saw spent no more than 3 minutes of time with me. They do not listen. I was in debilitating pain, unable to walk. Even trying to transfer my records to Mayo Clinic took multiple phone calls and hours on waiting online. If you are in pain, sorry. Real Pain is no joke. Go somewhere else.! read more

I have used Tria Ortho Urgent Care 3-4 times in the last 3-4 years for injuries and recently for a chronic ortho problem that suddenly became worse. Tria is SO efficient, if that's your thing like me. Every MD I have seen has been professional. Listening and observing in their assessments and explains what they see. they Ordered test or performed a treatment, with follow up as necessary or Referral. Your orthopedic physician are racist!! If they find out or think your injury is about litigation and you're a person of color they'll make sure your diagnose does not reflect the accident so you're not compensated by the insurance company who's responsible for the injury. Dr. Mark C. Wilczynski and Dr Nancy Moore and the worst unprofessional physician I've ever met and this is coming from an asthmatic person. Followed my practitioner here from another local multisite practice, & it's been NOTHING BUT Traumatizing. NEVER a nurse or other staff in visits, hence practitioner is often delayed in charting & sending orders. I've NEVER had a visit here or in TRIAs Hand Surgery or related Rehabilitative departments that EVER gave me enough information to allow me to provide Informed Consent. ESPECIALLY BAD are TRIA Rehab "specialists" who pretty much WITHOUT EXCEPTION fail to provide detailed information for injections and DMEs that insurance providers fail to cover in full OR part, leaving MANY patients appearing to staff as NonCompliant on the day of receipt of such things,when they're suddenly overwhelmed and coerced into accepting treatments they realize they can't afford. Went into TRIA 9 months ago for knee pain, 1 surgery and over $10k out of pocket expenses, all I have to show for it is a ruined knee and lots of questions: Why did it take two months to diagnose a meniscus tear, despite classic symptoms? You'd think someone hopping into your clinic on one leg and saying the" pain is so bad I can't walk" might be a clue... Why the hell recommend a repair over TKR for a 65 yo because they don't have enough arthritis, only to tell me 5 months after the surgery that my knee arthritis is so bad that I can't do the recovery PT for surgery? Recovery was brutal, and I do mean brutal: 3 months of on and off pain just as bad as original injury pain, so bad I was only getting 2-4 hours of sleep, I call clinic for help and their suggestion was "take some tylenol". GREAT PAIN MANAGEMENT THERE! At three months post-op, still using crutches because I couldn't walk without pain, I was told, "well, sometimes the surgery doesn't work, but don't worry we won't just leave you like this", but in fact they have just left me like this. Now at six months, the only thing they have to offer is a cortisone shot which would provide about 1-2 months of pain relief, and more PT that doesn't help ($100 a pop). I guess I'd summarize this place as a meat grinder designed to separate you from as much of your money as possible, whether you are still able to walk after they're finished with you is not their concern. read more

Had to go to TRIA for an MRI - after a 50 minute wait, Dr walked in and said 'You need an MRI.' and the assistant gave me a phone number to call and make an appointment for an MRI!!! The visit was less than 30 seconds and they charged me for a full visit. When I said I wasn't going to pay for a full visit to get told something I already knew, I got the run around and then my account was sent to collections. read more

Today (Nov 30, 2021) I had my second Total Knee Replacement, this time left; my right was April 16, 2021. I was so excited to do this because my left knee had become excruciatingly painful these past couple of months and I wanted it over. I love having these procedures as an outpatient. TRIA works with you to set up preop and postop PT and checkup appointments; you're responsible to set up a PCR COVID test prior to surgery. They provide a thick packet of info with literally everything you need to know, including a checklist that's very handy. TRIA has now partnered with Capsule, a drug delivery service, so Capsule calls ahead and discusses all your ordered postop meds are ready and waiting. Super convenient! My knee surgeon, Dr Christine Pui, is the best! I have a thin scar from my April replacement that is already fading. I showed up at ten, completed some paperwork, was put into a hospital gown that puffs up with warm air, surgery at noon and home at four! What a way to go! read more

Dr. Muench saw me. Didn't even evaluate me and told me to go to the ER for my shoulder pain. I said "really?" And he said they could not help me there. I was in no distress. Just wanted to rule out a muscle concern. I got sent a bill for $94. For nothing. The doctor didn't touch me or exam me. I wouldn't set foot in here unless you're having surgery. It's apparent they don't want to see patients unless they can make money off of them from elective surgery. read more

I hate to be so negative, but my experience here was far and away the worst experience I've ever had with the health care system. An enormously long wait time, despite the fact that there were only a few people in the waiting room with me. When I actually did get to see a doctor-- I came to speak with a PT and rehab specialist, but they made me see some GP first-- all he did was tell me to start taking steroids, and not give me any actual treatment, but because of how long I had waited to see that useless guy, they told me I would need to reschedule to see the specialist I had actually come to see. Worst of all though, the intake officer/receptionist had me fill out my insurance form, and I guess since I didn't sign in a certain spot (my mistake, fair enough, but why did they not double-check?) they charged me directly instead of the insurance. Eventually we got that all sorted out, but it ended up being a huge hassle and I really didn't ever get the treatment I needed. For sure every step of the way gave me that feeling of being "just a number" as other reviews here have mentioned, and the "treatment" itself, which was literally like 30 seconds: the doctor saying "where does it hurt? Ok, here's a prescription for steroids." took absolutely no consideration of what I wanted, what I was looking for, what I had tried to that point. Seriously a rotten experience. So, now that I turn 50 I seem to be falling apart! No worries, my minor outpatient surgery went really smoothly! I had some tendon lumps on a digit I needed removed. The whole process went smoothly meeting with the surgeon, getting approved for surgery, making appointments, and getting directions all went well. Everyone was very reassuring and listened to my needs. They even let me stay awake for my surgery and watch it on a monitor! For asking at the last minute, I was super impressed by that option. The surgeon even talked me through what he was doing and what parts were what. Thankful it was straightforward and everyone was so supportive. I'm not sure if it's because it was minor, or because I've been lucky enough not to have many surgeries, but I felt like I needed more aftercare appointments. Fortunately, they were super nice the two separate times I showed up to the urgent care concerned about my digit. Granted, they of course were correct and it was all more or less fine and healing pretty well. I found they still were very open to listening to my needs and questions and helping me navigate this new process I had not experienced before. I would highly recommend this location for any of your ortho needs. read more

-A TRIA orthopedic provider billed for services that I did not request. -I requested that the provider NOT perform anything that would require additional billing codes, without giving me the codes in advance to contact the insurance prior to those services. -They billed for the sameservices/exercises every visit for 5 visits in a row without my consent or knowledge -The delay in the billing system did not give me the opportunity to prevent these overcharges. -They appear to have a new billing practice to add additional billing codes that significantly increase their revenue for each visit, with no regard to the impact on the patient financially, as these additional billing codes are often restricted or not acceptable my insurance companies. -I have tried to handle this dispute with TRIA over the last 9months and their response was to send me to collections read more

Had my left hip replaced after year of pain. It was a life changer!!! Thank you Dr. Moore! I no longer have pain and sleep much better.

I had double carpal tunnel surgery and it was terrible from the beginning to the end. The doctors were horrid. The first attempt was by Dr. Mark C Wilczynski who had rude cold bedside manner. I began crying and having a bad reaction so he with obvious disdain did not complete the procedure. The next surgery by Dr. Yvonne M Grierson would not give adequate pain medication and discriminated due to my 6 years of sobriety status which I have no history or issue with opioids . Lastly a stitch was left in my hand which I removed myself. I will not name that person because she was so kind and did her best with me bawling and completely beside myself. I told the managers and they claimed they would help and make sure I was taken care of but did not follow through. The doctor finally prescribed me codeine and Tylenol and I had a terrible allergic reaction to the codeine. Most of the staff seem unhappy and burned out with a few exceptions. I could write 10 pages on the mistreatment but fear they would punish the wrong people for this terrible experience. The one start is for the 3 kind and helpful employees I encountered. read more

I suppose that if you have to endure two total knee replacements, 2020 i s the year to get them done! I was fortunate to have the left knee done on February 10th, and I'm currently rehabbing the right knee from a November 11th surgery. I'm in excellent health (for a 63-year old with arthritic knees at least), so I easily qualified to take advantage of the Hilton Stay option in lieu of an overnight stay in the hospital. What a great program: Cheaper for Tria and a heck of a lot more comfortable for the patient. My surgeon was Dr. Kirk Aadalen, who has been doing knee replacements for 18 years. He opted to put in an additional support (a "stubby") given that I was younger and physically active. I came home 30 hours after each surgery, and the first rehab went swimmingly (thanks in large part to Park Nicollet Physical Therapy and my prior level of fitness). While I may no longer be able to get back to competitive soccer, I hope to see you on the bike paths and golf courses next spring! read more

I can't say enough good things about TRIA SURGERY CENTER after having surgery on my hand. Dr Husband, my surgeon, was very informative and told me everything I should expect. I was given to option of watching the surgery or taking a nap (which I chose). The moment I walked in the door I was greeted by a friendly receptionist. I was moved into the preop area, where each nurse had their job. Everybody was super friendly and they put me completely at ease! Each nurse introduced themselves by their first name and explained exactly what was going to happen and asked me if I had any questions. I was called the next day to make sure I was doing OK. The week after I was sent a card signed by every nurse that took care of me thanking me for choosing TRIA. This experience was so much better than being in the hospital! read more

I've had hand surgery done for both hands and have nothing but positive things to say about both experiences. The pre-appointments were scheduled well. I was given paperwork on who to call, what I needed to do pre-op and for aftercare. The doctor and staff were friendly, but efficient. The physical therapists were knowledgeable and caring. I received excellent care from Courtney Scott PA-C. She is professional, knowledgeable and outstanding in her field. I have been under her care for several things, including a serious head-on collision going 60 mph with neck and back fractures. She gave me outstanding care and hope during my recovery, and I would recommend her to anyone seeking phenomenal care! It was easy getting prompt appointments, wait time on the phone was minimal, and other doctors and staff at Tria are the best. When I had shoulder surgery, their Surgery Department is also excellent. Have been trying to schedule an appointment for an RFA L4 L5 S1S2 with Tria Pain Clinic since August 2022. My calls are returned weeks later and I am not able to contact anyone directly. When they finally submitted the procedure to my insurance provider, it was wrong and denied. I am still waiting for them to correct the error and schedule the procedure. read more

Went here for a second opinion on my left knee, which has been causing me pain off and on for 4 years. After moving back home to MN from out of state, where I was actually scheduled to have knee replacement surgery, but couldn't get it done due to the timing of our move, I sought out a surgeon here. He told me the X-rays from 5 months ago (not taken there) looked "fine". Told me to ride a bike or do knee exercises. Moved my knee around and pushed on it side to side, but never bent it to hear and feel the grinding cartilage and popping and cracking sounds it makes. Never even looked at both knees to compare the two side by side. I have a considerable amount of swelling on my bad knee. Even a child could see this knee doesn't look good. I'm 54 years old, and told him I felt very limited to what I can do, which isn't much these days. I was an avid runner for more than 2 decades and fitness instructor for more than a decade, so exercise isn't foreign to me. Since I've been so limited to what I can still do physically, I've gained weight and fallen out of shape considerably. He told me I wouldn't be able to run, jump, or pivot with a knee replacement anyway, even though I personally know a couple people with bionic knees who run and are avid pickleball players!!! Pretty depressing to hear this. Doctors should want happy patients, wanting them to be able to live full lives by speaking life into them, not give them last resort options at 54. I then had to ask HIM what my options were. He offered me cortisone (which I previously tried with zero results). He seemed surprised. My knee since then has gotten progressively worse, to the point I can barely walk on it. Complete waste of time. So you're 54 and feel 84? At least you're still breathing. Deal with it. Still I show up an hour early for each appt. and watch everyone go ahead of me. Wow!! I have been here now about 10 times and never once was I checked in early very sad!!! It is super frustrating watching a whole room of people empty and fill 2 times and you still are not let in on time. Really need to do something about this..... I feel punished for showing up early!! Now today 25 minutes late. The Staffing team is just so darn good in Maple Grove that I had to change my rating in post another five. It's just astronomically sad that they can't get the early appointment individuals in early especially when you're an hour early please work on that. read more

I accessed The Tria Bloomington location shortly after Thanksgiving with severe back pain. This was determined to be associated with a bulging disk in my lower back L3-L4. I was ultimately given a steroid injection in my back on 12/8. Dr. Bugbee is the doctor in charge of my care during this time and currently. He recommended this injection which I agreed with given that I had the same thing occur 5 years ago. However, this time the pain briefly improved over a 48hr period and then progressively get worse since, and is now on par with the pain I have had prior to the injection. I was told that it can take up to 10 days to get the maximum benefit from the injection. I would expect that after the fast acting local pain injection wears off in a few hours to then get to the bottom of the pain levels and see some sort of improvement day to day up to that 10-day target. Certainly this is not the case. I am currently following the alternating use of Tylenol and Ibuprofen to manage the pain as best I can. I am also performing the stretching exercises that I had performed around my last procedures to strengthen my back and help alignment of the problem disk. My problems are multiple. First, I asked for a call with Dr. Bugbee to determine if he reviewed the injection procedure done by others and also determine what else I can be doing. After two calls to/from his nurse group, on 12/11, they told me that "Dr. Bugbee does not have time to call me and that I should go to the Urgent Care". Since he works in Urgent Care and the same day I am calling, should I have to go to Urgent Care and end up seeing whoever is available? I would have thought he could make that phone call with me. Sadly disappointed in how I am being handled. My future appointments for care including the Spine Clinic and PT are in January. I was told that people are taking PTO and the best option are these January dates. Frustrating that I have to wait for additional weeks for care dealing with this level of pain. Certainly I can go to Urgent Care and exhaust more time and money to only have them point to my schedule in January. I have gone to Tria for a number of years with various injuries (more than a normal person) and always got great care and results. Disappointed to be treated this way and being forced to look elsewhere for care. read more

I was seen by Dr.Greer in 2020 for ankle pain and was misdiagnosed, leading to a year and a half of failed treatment and pain. I saw three other doctors (not through Healthpartners), and one of them finally diagnosed me correctly with a noticeable ailment that was present on both my MRI from 2020 as well as my MRI from 2021. I sent TRIA a message notifying them how disappointed I was that it wasn't caught earlier, and they never replied. I would not recommend this place. Find a doctor that's really going to take the time to look at your scans and care about your pain and treatment. read more

I went to Tria's urgent care in Maplewood. This place is a joke. Urgent care takes patients and people that need imaging. Unless an urgent care patient is are screaming in total pain, or has bones protruding through their skin, Tria prioritize imaging patients first. A Tria nurse informed me of this when she tried to get me to make a future appointment. That is a fact. I had to wait 3 hours to be seen when imaging patient after imaging patient was seen in Urgent care. Next I needed an MRI. By the time I got the MRI my knee was almost better. I called to get the Doctors interpretation of the MRI. He would not tell me unless I came in for an appointment even though I could read the results myself from the radiologist. I just wanted a more layman interpretation. Finally I convinced him to let me have a tele appointment where I was charged 88 dollars and told there was no obvious reason for the knee pain. It is outrageous and I will never use Tria again. read more

An acute knee injury brought us to Tria recently. Having been here before we knew the drill. Check-in for walk in clinic and wait until the pager goes off. The place is spotless, the staff professional and the wait time for us to see an orthopedist is always minimal. My critique of the organization is the lack of discharge teaching and follow-up. When DH was evaluated and prescribed medication, the discharging staff had no idea what drug class the doctor had prescribed stating "well, it's not a narcotic". Better education of staff is definitely needed to make sure patients have a good outcome and don't need to return or jam up the phone lines because someone dropped the ball on the discharge plan. read more

I have had multiple surgeries here (Ankle/Wrist) and other care for years. Now that Health Partners has taken over they have SUNK any quality customer service that used to exist. You will be unable to follow up via email or phone, you will not be able reach anyone that matters should a problem arise, and when you are trying to schedule something specific, you will wait, thinking "they will get back to me", not so. TRIA calls itself world class orthopedic center. In my opinion, it is certainly not "world class". It lacks the personal attention that patients expect to get in a world class place. I was supposed to get a call from a nurse a day or two prior to my surgery at Tria. It did not happen. I was supposed to get a call from a nurse today, on Monday, following surgery that I had on Friday at Tria. It did not happen. I am frustrated that the questions that I had before the surgery were not answered. I am frustrated that the questions that I have now after surgery have not been answered. If you do decided to go to Tria, do not expect them to live up to their word. I have discovered that this does not happen. read more

I recently had an acute heel injury and went into the 7 day urgent care. Met with Dr Alexander and got great care. He gave me great advice and treatment that enabled me to run my marathon a month later. He also is responsive to email should you have follow up questions after your appointment, saving a trip in. Wish my primary care physician did the same. The facilities are modern, clean, and they do a lot of tests/treatment on site. The support staff is young, energetic (no crabby nurses here). The nurse and doctors have been wonderful. I had ankle surgery and my husband is currently having his second rotator cuff surgery. The lady at the surgery reception desk is HORRIBLE. I can tell you that this is my first yelp review in forever because I usually let things go way too fast..but she is awful. I can hardly walk and in a boot and I was told they would call me when he was 30 min from being done and it would be a 2-2.5 hr surgery. After over 3 hours I thought I'd go check just in case I missed the call or something. She told me I couldn't be in the waiting room and someone MIGHT call me when he's done. WHAT!?! MIGHT? And then she told me "maybe try keeping your phone on". Horrible customer service and zero compassion for people who are a little stressed out. It may just be orthopedic surgery, but it's still surgery and I just want to know if my husband is ok. And the fact I can't wait in the surgery waiting room (no one else was there)...while I'm in a boot and can't walk very well...ridiculous. read more

I've had way too many trips to TRIA and really all but one of them has been a good experience. Everything from hand therapy to a knee replacement has been delivered with care and understanding. There are more than a few standout doctors and therapists here. I've been treated with respect and my treatments have been top notch.
