Okay. Bottom Line Up…read moreFront: Dr Clarkson is a righteous dude. I just wish he practiced more kinds of medicine so we could all go see him for everything. I'm an amateur hypochondriac with at least one friend who is a professional hypochondriac, and I've also had a series of long illnesses in my extended family in the last five years. Further, we have moved from one coast to the other and back, thus completely changing the cast twice. I mention this in the service of saying that I have a lot of experience dealing with a lot of doctors about a lot of different kinds of illnesses, symptoms, treatments, and etc. Dr Clarkson is grade A, five star beef. All wool and a yard wide. Out of the forty-odd docs with whom I have had meaningful experience, he's in the top three, and he may very well be the best of all of them. He is attentive to the patients and considers carefully before answering questions. He is calm, unhurried, and rational, and he explains what he is thinking as well as what he is not thinking in a considerate, structured, and clear way, rather than just handing down a snap verdict, writing a prescription, and peacing out. Facts, people. Facts.

Dr. Clarkson and his staff are the most efficient that I have seen. He should teach a class on how…read moreto run a practice. I never have to wait even when I am 15 minutes early. Don't know how they do it. He is one sharp guy. Asks excellent questions to figure out what is going on. Very logical in his approach. He operated on me in 2005 and it could not have gone better. One of the best Docs that I have been too. Stacey O.

This was my first time here. Unfortunately, my health insurance company is fighting with my normal…read moremedical group. So, I had to quickly find another provider. When making the appointment, the scheduler initially told me there were no appointments until after January 2026. She heard the desperation in my voice and found me an appointment with Dr. Michael Armstrong for a few days later. I went to my appt & his nurse, Angela, was so sweet. She was empathetic and understanding. I was able to get what I needed & didn't have to spend much time there. I liked Dr. Armstrong. He was a gentle & very friendly. I don't usually see male gynecologists, but I'm thinking of seeing him from now on just because of this experience. I didn't give them a 5-star because the waiting room wasn't clean and tidy, and my appt was early in the morning. I also had to wait for the young lady to get off of social media to check-out. I literally had to knock on the glass. That's unacceptable. Outside of that, all went well.

Warning: If you are coming to this location to discuss symptoms or treatment of TMJ…read more(Temporomandibular Joint Disorder), your visit will NOT be covered if you have a Cigna health insurance plan. I had to pay $256 for a brief visit with a physician assistant (not the doctor, who was on vacation) about my TMJ symptoms (my jaw locking up and not opening more than a 1/2 inch). There was a brief inspection of my mouth and jaw, along with a short discussion about my options (trying a prescription to help with jaw relaxation and purchasing an over-the-counter mouthguard to help with teeth grinding). Since the visit was coded with TMJ, my health insurance plan refused to cover it, as it was not surgical. And yes, I appealed 3 times, submitting documentation, and discussing this issue for hours with both WakeMed's billing offices and Cigna customer service. I am SO disappointed with how this whole process unfolded with WakeMed that I will never be going to this location again.

BUT... even though my frequency hearing test was only 5 days old and I'd given her a copy of the results, Dr. Jenkins gave me another test, anyway. (Are the doctors here required to follow set procedures no matter what?) Ever since that test, I've been worse than I was before I saw Dr. Jenkins. Once again, I've trusted a doctor and been worse after I saw her than before I did. I do NOT recommend Dr. Jenkins or the Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center to help with tinnitus.

I had initially gone to Raleigh Hearing when I got my hearing aids. I was initially impressed. That…read morewas more than four years ago. Recently, I needed to have my aids reprogrammed. I called another provider here in Chapel Hill, as they were so close by. I was told they would service them, as they serviced Starkey for the life of the hearing aid. Also I was told to bring my wife in, so they could better adjust the aids for her voice. They actually had no intention of helping me with my existing hearing aids, but rather, went straight into a sales pitch, and it became apparant that they wanted my wife along so they could increase the effort. I was not happy. BUT- I went back to Raleigh Hearing and Tinnitus Center as a result. The help I got there was excellent. They tested my heaing, gave me an honest reccomendation, and repaired part of the problem with my hearing aids. We ordered the remaining parts necessary to get them fully up to speed. No sales pitch. No false representation. Just solid professional assistance. I will not go anywhere else again. I can promise you that.
