I found the Fates' business advertised on a popular local trading website and gave them a call. They visited my house that same evening, looked at everything I needed, and sent me a detailed quote that same night. The Fates are very tech savvy, using online tools for estimating, signing contracts, and processing change orders. This made everything flow some much smoother. I told the Fates that I needed all the work done by 3:00 PM the following Thursday. They said they would do it and we arranged for them to show up at 7:00 AM on that Monday. The whole time they were working for me they stayed in communication so I always knew what they were doing. They worked some long hours, as needed, and were in constant, efficient motion getting it all done. And they were super clean! The did not leave a mess for me to deal with. And since it was during the 2020 covid-19 pandemic, they respectfully wore face masks the entire time. The Fates met my deadline, even though I added a couple of things along the way. They pulled out of my driveway at 3:15 PM on Thursday, just as the real estate agent's photographer arrived. I genuinely like and admire the Fates at both a professional and personal level. Rob was also but did come do a bid for us when a lot of the others either wouldn't or were 4 months out to just do the bid. We are so glad he did because they handled everything professionally, kept us up to date on progress and did a fantastic job. We highly recommend them and will use them again in the future.

He said he'd get his notes to me by the end of the day to make sure we were on the same page. No surprise, I didn't get that Email as promised. Days later, I get his notes. We confirm, YES this is what we want to do. We didn't hear back from him until a month later when we got an Email stating they aren't taking any new jobs. All I have to say is it's a damned good thing we gave up on contractors to get back to us and went with a conventional loan instead of the 203k we started with. What the hell is wrong with contractors in this area?? Nobody seems like they want to work. They all say they'll get back to you but it's crickets from there.

Long story short he completed the project on time on budget even after some change order work . Jerry's workmanship and professional ethics made me glad that Northwest Quality Finishes was there for the project. Jerry was always pleasant and accessible via phone or text. As a matter of fact he also completed additional contract work that was also done to high construction standards and I would highly recommend Jerry. After mediation I signed a waiver releasing stonewood of future issues. Fast forward to 2021 when mold appeared suddenly on my ceiling and drywall tape started separating. To my dismay, Stonewood Construction did not follow my city approved plans and the entire roof was not vented. Anyone familiar with a shed style roof knows that the venting is different then your traditional roof. The damage is extensive, estimated at $70,000 including removal of a large section of the roof. Stonewood Construction has chosen not to cover the damage, falling back on the old totally unrelated CCB agreement. This is their right. However they do not appear to have the ethical standards to pay for this repair. It was their huge mistake, and I believe that an excellent company would take care of this regardless of the CCB board ruling because it is the RIGHT thing to do. Buyer beware!!!!

They also vastly improved the deck with handsome railings and steps down to the yard. Actually, if I could, I would give FJC even more stars. Of all the contractors I have worked with over my lifetime, Fred was by far the most committed to ensuring that I got what I wanted, and the most collaborative. His suggestions and creative solutions vastly improved the ultimate design and saved me money in several areas. He also has excellent taste. The LVP flooring that he found and recommended to me is stunning. I spend a few minutes every single day just admiring my floors - yes, I actually do.
