Man who came out was nice for other things but they constantly drop the appointments so drag out work. we have had ac out for three weeks and they have dropped 4 appointments and say we never called in eventhough I have proof of a 24 min call and both my husband and I made apt. they are only sending someone out in another week to see if we do need a thermostat and what kind when I sent pics in and videos and they could bring the panel with them but after he looks he will still have to order and reschedule another week or so after that. they need to hire more maintenance men or outsource. and nobody or supervisors are available to talk. read more

Lived in a home for 3 years and I requested a walk through before move-out. The gentleman came and had an issue with the way we spackled the holes. He was specific on what to do to fix it, because "they don't want to do all that work". It was implied we were responsible for completely prepping the home for the next resident. We fixed everything he outlined for us to do, which was simply sanding and painting over the spackle. He left the sanding block and paint and we completed everything doing exactly what he stated, after he demonstrated himself. We were still charged $500 for "wall repair". Infuriating. We had very little issues with them throughout our lease but that is now completely void, since I've learned they will apply unsubstantiated charges at their whim. read more

Scammers. They take your $250 hold deposit, even without an approval and then keep for the next 10-15 business days. Asked why I was denied a rental, and from nothing else than credit. Mind you my wife and I scored high enough to be in a rental house that is more than the one we were looking to move into because of relocation. We've had absolutely nothing but issues with this company. We started renting from them back in November 12, 2024 and promptly learned that our refrigerators freezer side does not freeze and one stover burner would tick when turned on! So we swiftly called them (11/17/24) asking for someone to come check and fix it. The first visit (11/20/24) the man came and attempted to fix said problem, within the week we learned it did not work. On his second visit (12/04/24) he came back to try and fix it yet again and the same issues occur. Third visit (12/17/24) there was finally a fix to the stove!! But not so much for our freezer. We made another call for the freezer to be fixed on 12/18/24 and on 12/24/24 he deemed it was unrepairable and needed to be replaced. They called and told us we would receive a call from a 3rd party company on getting a new fridge within a week. So we waited. And waited. Until we had to out of town on a long military work trip (mid feb).. and still nothing.. during said work trip we had family check on our house every two weeks. When we finally made it home (mid June) the fridge had completely stopped working. Every piece of frozen meat and food had gone bad.. on top of the AC going out.. you can imagine our surprise to the heat and smell of our house on arrival.. so we called immediately and every time we tried to leave a voicemail it would repeat the companies hours. So we got a hotel and tried again the next day. Once we called we were assured that the AC would be deemed an emergency given the above 90s heat (realfeel well over 100 degrees) and that a third party company would call within 24 hours and that's where we're at now. I was to emphasize the people we've talked to and worked with have been very nice but that doesn't do much when we can't trust that they will provide quality services when we need them too with how much we pay in rent. read more

To the "Tricon Buisness owner" who commented on my first review, and to provide an example of what I'm talking about for everyone else. I provided weeks worth of proof, including emails, texts, phone calls, screenshots, and attempts to reach out to someone with all the issues I've been having and got in contact with one woman who said they could help me. I even emailed to follow up about the situation after about 5 Buisness days (I made sure to do so because of my experience with Tricon not getting anything done correctly). She said she would get back to me as soon as she fixed the issue and I have yet to be contacted, or notified of the situation. This was almost a week and a half ago now. So I feel that the situation is still not handled. This is a huge issue for me considering I've been trying my best over the last TWO months to be done with tricon and I keep getting the run around. read more

Our A/C unit went out the night before & with this San Antonio heat the house inside got up to 99 degrees. They happen yo be working on a home a few houses over so I asked for help. The worst rental company I have ever experienced. I was assigned a representative that does not respond to emails or returns phone calls. They overcharged me during my move and then proceeded to tell me they put the overpayment towards my rental deposit that was already paid. There is never a walk through when you first move in and then they proceed to charge you for everything damaged in the house when you move out. I cannot wait for my lease to end to never have to deal with this horrid company ever again. read more

The worst business I have EVER worked with in my entire life. I would give negative stars if I could. After the worst living experience of my life (including a broken toilet and flooded bathroom over the weekend because nobody was there to respond to EMERGENCY maintenance issues) they had the audacity to charge me for the required carpet cleaning even though I had the carpets cleaned by a professional company and provided the receipts. They provide sub-par service and when you call and they don't like what you have to say? Their customer service just hangs up. I have leased several clients at a Tricon home and I am always pleased with the customer service and the rents are reasonable. They have wonderful new homes and try to accommodate people as much as possible. In the last two months, I have placed three clients there. I speak with Julie Wilson to set up appointments and to follow up with applications, and ask questions. Julie answers her phone and if does not pick it up in two rings, she calls back with in half an hour. She is knowledgeable about the houses, responsive and is professional. Julie makes the application process appear seamless. There is also another lady named Renee Wiggins, who helped me with a client who needed extra attention in the application process and her assistance and responsiveness was also commendable. The houses have spacious yard and come with all appliances. Most recently they are even including washer and dryers. My clients love living in the neighborhood and love the houses they live in. I just rented a home in Kyle and the home was not in the best shape. The plastic fence had black mold and the vents intake and out were dirty. Makes me wonder what is in the ductwork. The dishwasher is not working bc the outlet under the sink is not working. I was told in the automated messaged that dirty vents and light fixtures are the responsibility of the tenant, yet it is supposed to be cleaned upon move-in date. I submitted pictures and explanation two weeks ago and have not received a response. I have been calling and no one answers. Right now I have been on hold for 18:26. I've had 6 leaks and pipe bursts in my house. They just patch it and do the minimal amount of work and come back for the next leak. My water bill has been crazy the whole time I've lived here and multiple things of mine have been ruined. Currently have water under the floor boards in my living room and I am bring home a newborn soon. There is no emergency line for maintenance and I don't feel comfortable having 2 kids in this house of theirs. read more

Worst rental experience of my life! Since moving in last November, we have had countless problems and the maintenance is awful!!! Examples: 1. Our washer hookup broke and was flooding our laundry room and kitchen. We called emergency maintenance and the guy said he wasn't coming because he was drunk. We had to turn our water off and go with no water for days. It took over a week for them to fix the problem. The problem ended up being a huge plumbing issue that made all our bathrooms unusable. I was 36 weeks pregnant with no running water or usable bathrooms in my home. Not to mention our tubs backed up with sewer water and I had literal feces in my bathtubs for days. They were insensitive and never offered to have someone clean the tubs either. These living conditions should be illegal. 2. Our back door was leaking during a storm and flooding our dining room and living room. They said the rain would stop soon so it wasn't an emergency and no one would be coming. It was at least a week before they finally came to fix it. 3. Our weather stripping fell off the front door and caused the door to not seal. A guy came to fix it, but didn't end up fixing it at all. Bugs were getting in and it was causing our house to stay incredibly hot and making our AC constantly run. We had a $500 electric bill because of it. It's been months and it still is not fixed. 4. We currently have been without a dishwasher for a month. We've been waiting and today they finally delivered a new one but did not install it. They instead left it in the middle of my kitchen and cut the drain to my sink so I have no useable water in my kitchen. I have a 4 month old baby and have to wash her bottles in the bathtub. 5. Called emergency maintenance for help, was put on hold for 1 hour and 5 minutes and then was hung up on. Never once was helped. These are only SOME of the problems. I have issues with this company at least monthly and they do the bare minimum or sometimes even less! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! They don't care about their residents and you will 100% regret living here! Run!!! read more

Our experience with Tricon was good. We did have alot of issues with our rental house. Leaks that seemed pretty serious and in the long run is ruining the house. It was "fixed" 4 times, which was crazy! I think I called about something relating to the house falling apart once a month at least. But tricon was really good about sending Maintenance. I was more disappointed that when we moved in we never had a walk thru and after the year we lived there we were stood up for our last walk thru. Nobody showed up as this was scheduled 3 weeks in advance. That made our last taste of this company pretty sour. read more

Tricon has become the worst rental company I've ever used. In Jacksonville, Tricon was amazing which is the reason why when I received my PCS, it was a no brainer to continue to lease with them. Since I've been in San Antonio it has been a mess. We currently have 3 refrigerators in this house because the one that was here has a broken compressor. When they dropped off the loaner they stated they would leave the old one to fix. Imagine my surprise when I came home for a treadmill delivery, a delivery for a brand new fridge showed up. No call, no text, or email despite the receipt saying call an hour before delivery. No one has called to say hey we will fix this and trying to get through the website/customer service maze is exhausting. And to add insult to injury, we have an infestation of Acrobat Ants. I called a pest control company to come and inspect and the gentleman found decayed wood outside as the source of them. Tricon had the unmitigated gall to not come clear this up but these ants are a direct reflection of this run down home. It isn't because the house is dirty because we have it cleaned professionally and have been. In Jacksonville we were told they never see houses in such great condition upon move out. Now we have these ants that are a nuisance, a bursted pipe outside that will likely continue this infestation and tricon is slothful and slow in responding. I'm disappointed and disgusted and will never recommend this company to anyone else again. read more

My fiancé and I recently applied to rent out a home through Tricon American Homes. She was initially told by Miriam, who is I'm assuming the person assigned to the house, that there would be an issue validating her proof of income as she is a bartender. This is understandable especially with bartenders not getting paystubs to prove their income. The problem arises from being told that we have 3 pets. Which keeps us from renting the home because they only allow 2 pets. I have a registered and fully documented service animal that they are considering to be a pet. This company is refusing to allow us to move in because that would put three 'pets' in our home. After speaking with Miriam, and getting quite upset myself over being told that she has a service animal and the ONLY thing that the the paperwork helps with is to avoid pet fees. Hearing this infuriated me, because I took this to imply that the only reason I have my service dog is to avoid pet fees. Her ignorance and attitude that she was doing us a favor and allowing an exception to allow my fiancé's bank statements for proof of income as opposed to check stubs, and that she or the company couldn't allow any other 'exceptions' is unbelievable. I highly suggest not renting through these people. Update: The application we put in was turned down and we cancelled because they couldn't allow anymore 'exceptions' as I mentioned in my post above. I just received an automated email saying that my application was 'based in whole or in part' of a credit review from an outside consumer-reporting agency. That is laughable, this company is a joke! read more
