I wish there was a zero rating. My daughter had blood work one and never received a bill so we thought the labs where done inhouse at the doctors office. She got a text saying that she was sent to collections. She called thinking that it was a spam and they told her that it was my bill. I have never received a bill for the visit so I will probably get a collections letter and fee. Again this week, she got a text saying that she was sent to collections. She was told that her doctor requested a new set a tests done on her sample. She was told that her first bill was sent to collections because they could not contact her since her address had our PO Box number and her city since we don't live in the same town and it was sent back undeliverable. They could not even pull up her file or contact her doctor to verify the address. Every time anyone in our family does blood work with Tricore we are sent to collections. Went in for a blood test. They were very friendly and nice, but I had to get stuck four times; the last time a different person had to do it who was much better than the first. They tried my hand at one point and i ended up with nerve pain in my hand for two days which thankfully went away. After all that, they didn't even test for what was on the order from my doctor. So I still don't know my cholesterol level or any of the things I was hoping to find out. What a waste of time, pain and money. Go to St. Vincent's if at all possible! They use the smallest needles possible and are very understanding about my fear of needles. Unlike this place who didn't care about my fears, Because its "its too expensive for them to use a butterfly needle on an adult" or so the lady from the front desk told me. Not only wqs she rude about it but she seemed to try to make me feel like an idiot for even asking? That is just ridiculous. If a smaller needle makes me feel better than use it. St. Vincent's lab does what the other large lab in town doesn't. They show care, and compassion. They show that you are not just a number to make money from. They show you and make you feel like a person that matters. So i say avoid this place if possible. Because they won't give you the butterfly needle so matter how big your fear is. read more

Tricore has been a mainstay in supporting healthcare in New Mexico for decades. I had to get up and get some fasting lab work done this Saturday morning. I couldn't remember if they opened at 7am or 8 AM, so when I looked up their hours. Siri pulled the data from Yelp, and I noticed some bad reviews which I think are probably unjustified. I came in at 7:50 AM and I was out by 8:06 AM. The two employees I interacted with were very pleasant and efficient. I had a painless blood draw and I am on my way about my Saturday morning. I am a physician in town and I send hundreds of patients to Tricore. Occasionally a patient has a less than optimal experienced, but most of the time my patients are really satisfied with Tricore. At Christus one can get one's own lab results with no hassle- just log into patient portal. TRI doesn't offer this. And there's constant blaring from a commercial radio station as one waits at the Santa Fe TRI office. St Vincent's is a much more pleasant environment. I was the only one in the reception area, pulled my tag and still did not get a response from the front desk for ten minutes. The intake process was unpleasant and done in a unfriendly manner. This lab needs to have an understanding we go there for life altering blood tests. The receptionist, who did not have a name tag, was rude, fresh, nasty and cold. When she called my number to the back she proceeded, or so she thought, to take my blood. I told her no way in hell would I ever let someone so vindictive come toward me with a needle. She needs intense training in how to deal with people AND to understand we are not there by choice it is a medical condition that brings us there. I witnessed her with 2 other patients being flip and rude. The phlebotomist was amazing . . .but that horrible woman at the front needs help!!! read more

Yesterday I went to Tricore Santa Fe, NM for a blood-draw. There needs to be some kind of a basic medical dress-code for your techs. Sorry. There just has to be. The man who drew the blood was dressed as if he had just stepped off his patio from grilling steaks. Jeans, dingey T-shirt, baseball cap. Are you serious? Your techs should all be wearing immaculate lab coats or something close, no hats, shoes should be clean. Is this asking too much? There's a time and place to look like you're grilling steaks and and a time and place to look like a medical professional. And an establishment like Tricore is where the latter should be required. At least he wore disposable gloves, so that's a plus. Sigh. Talk about lowering the bar. read more

I took a number, waited a little while, went to the bathroom for only a minute, and apparently my name was called while I was in the bathroom and when I came out, a woman in the lobby asked me is my name was ...and I told her it was and so I went up to the receptionist to explain I was in the restroom and the freakin bitch made me take another number.....seriously! And by then, the line was MUCH longer and the wait time was MUCH longer than when I first came in.....So I ended up waiting an additional 45 minutes longer, all because I had to go pee. Received a balance due bill from them one year after date of service (invoice was not itemized enough for me to figure out what was going on). Tried to contact them with questions on why I was receiving this first notification one year after service, but was on hold for 35 minutes the first time (had to hang up) and 25 minutes the second time. Finally got a call back from a supervisor the next day and was told, basically, they discovered billing errors on a lot of their accounts and were sending out corrections - hence (probably), the extreme wait time for their billing dept. This, combined with my wife's experience of snippy attitude in the office, leads me to find another source for lab tests. Have also informed my doctor regarding their service. read more

I should know better but out of convenience I went again thinking that maybe, just maybe I had been unlucky with some inexperienced person. But NO! It's been 5 days and I am still so black and blue and my vein is sore. The people that work here are very inexperienced and irresponsible and we seem to be there quinea pigs. I decided to post because I saw some bad reviews and realized most people complain when things aren't perfect but don't review when things work as expected. Lab tests are important! Anyhow, this year I switched to Tricore from Quest because of a problem with an uncommon blood test where Quest messed up my test, did not notify me, and falsely told my doctor I didn't show up for retest. Their lack of communication and then deliberate (?) misinformation alarmed me. I then went to Tricore and they had the same problem -- old test vials gave no result. But they investigated the cause, changed their method and retested me correctly. Most important, they notified me promptly both when the results failed and when they were okay. They also answered the phone and returned calls as promised. Quest never did. Also, the Quest portal for me still is not up-to-date for my lab results although I paid extra to have my older records added. read more

My life style of lifting weights, and actively train in martial arts daily as well as web design has causing nerve inflimation and unblance issues that are now known as early warning signs to much MUCH worse issues. When they were over at Saint Victims they were considerably better IMO. I am extremly fortunate that my GPs and Acpucturist and TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) Doctors caught the error. They mixed up my lab resaults with someone else. Twice. Of course mistakes happen. But they didn't own them. What if the Acupuncturist wasn't also trained in european medicine (England if I understood her right). What if I hadn't had a briefe flare up at her office so as she could see: wait a second? AHA that's what you're trying to describe as the problem? She wrote up some variations of the last tests on a hunch. (Something to do with adreynal and harmones responsable for healing). TriCore tried to bill me 4 times for their mistake (first of all my insurance planS cover all of those) Those type of issues and the crappy demeaner of the staff, awkward weird locations etc is is why I love/hate them. And yes New Mexico has numerous issues. ^_^. I do agree it's hit and mis with the nurses and blood-drawing persons. One person was more woried about their phone than making sure the resaults go correctly.... Another said and I "Dayam! what's wrong wit you now, and shit what the fuck is going on with this fucking computer...you shure your doctors sent over that screening test, what do you meen you want to check on a immune system levels..you have the aids or something" (...what does...nevermind ) I don't know why that person thought double checking if routine vacines are working was a big to do.. read more
