Purchased vehicle on eBay. Even though they were paid within 24 hours in full, they went ahead and cancelled the eBay auction for payment not received. They are obviously doing that to avoid eBay buyer protection and to prevent having eBay issue them a form for taxes at year end on profits like any seller on eBay. Finally got it started and check engine light came on and trans started knocking. Turned off jeep and could get it to start back up after. There were other issue but told them I can't put my 16 in this. They said they are keeping deposit. Filed with BBB, disputing charge and next week is small claims filing. These people are criminals. I purchased a 2007 Element from their eBay site. All the pictures were doctored to hide all the defects which include: A major rear end collision, major interior water damage from a chronic leak (there was 1" of standing water on the floor when I received this vehicle), an terrible paint job (designed to hide all the defects...paint was crazed clear through to bar metal), huge gouges out of the dashboard, missing needles in the gauge cluster, floor damage and mold, non-working air conditioning and, to top it off, it was out of gas when I received it. I have contacted them multiple times and they will not respond in any way. I'm left with an unsellable vehicle that I will have to put thousands into to make it drive-able. This coming from a "1 owner 64K mile clean carfax" vehicle. It's actually been owned by 3 people, including an auction house. More lies. DO NOT buy from Trident Automotive/Used Cars. The seller, Susan takes your $999 (just under $1000) on purpose so she can keep it because it's under $1000. We won a bid from this company on ebay and they make all the pictures look perfect and say the vehicles have no issues. We drove 8hrs to hopefully buy this great looking vehicle only to be shocked with a piece of junk!! It has TONS of imperfections that were never mentioned over the phone. When asked of the vehicle ran well Susan said yes. When i test drove it the engine stuttered and lost power PLUS the brakes were highly glazed and barely stopped. I was so mad and felt cheated. I just purchased a 1995 F150 that was advertised as clean and low mileage, There were several pictures of the truck, all pictures looked great, They must have a magician for a photographer. These people should be arrested for scamming so many hard working people, and I am ashamed to admit that I am a victim as well. I bought a truck off of their USED CAR site on Ebay. There were at least twenty great pictures and even a clean CARFAX report. The posting said "if you are the winning bidder, please be legitimate. It costs us time and money to have to keep posting on Ebay. If you don't have positive feedback on Ebay, we have the right to inform Ebay that you are a fraudulant bidder". I won the auction, and called the next day to inform Used Cars and Kimberly + Danny that I was indeed legitimate and would do what an honest buyer would do, and bought the truck. After talking to both of them over the phone, and feeling reassured that the truck was in great condition, I agreed to sign my rights away and sent them my money. I paid for the shipping and was assured I would get a phone call when it was on its way. A few days went by and I started to get nervous so I sent Kimberly a text while I was at work. She replied and said: "it is in your driveway"' I thought oh good, I received my truck. When I got home, it wouldn't start. The battery wouldn't take a charge so I bought a new one. As soon as it started, the check engine light was on (not disclosed to me), I took it right away to my mechanic who informed me that the entire frame was rotten and could not be inspected for my state. I tried calling these assh0les back, but they wouldn't take my calls. Ebay would not protect me because the truck is more than 15 years old. Sharon and Trident Automotive are the worst to deal with after they receive your money. They have revived Pablo Picaso from the grave and provide wonderful looking pictures and what you get is completely opposite--severe rust, engine and transmission issues, etc. They all deserve to rot in jail or some street justice. File complaints with BBB, Maryland Motor Vehicle Department, sue them, etc. They are allowed to get away with this because no one has hauled them to court. Stay tuned as I have exhausted all routes and refuse for them to get away with this, even if I have to spend more money then what the car is worth, I will haul them into court. Absolutely horrible experience. Before I purchased a vehicle from them, I called and was promised that the vehicle was in great working order, had no issues and was 'safe to drive across the country', after all, they wouldn't sell a vehicle that was otherwise. I was also specifically told the A/C was working great. I moved forward with the purchase and had the vehicle shipped across country at my expense ($2500). I received the vehicle 17 days after I purchased it, and upon inspection I found the tires were over 10 years old, were dry rotted and cracked, the rear brakes were rusted and in pieces and the front brakes were repaired incorrectly; the drivers side rotor and pad was replaced but not the passenger side, so it would pull very hard when braking. I also found that the A/C did not work at all, the compressor would not engage and there was no freon in the system. After replacing the tires and brakes, I took the van on a short family road trip. Upon our return home, I noticed a creaking noise and I climbed underneath the front end to find catastrophic rust damage that was NOT disclosed to me. The drivers side subframe is so severely rusted, there is less than 1/2" of metal subframe left holding it together. A bump or low speed collision would completely collapse the subframe. The rust extends to the bumper and passenger side subframe, which is missing chunks of metal. I found the vehicle on Ebay and there were plenty of pictures, even some of the undercarriage, but zero images of the front end (I believe intentionally). I was also not told about the rust during my phone conversation. I immediately called Trident and spoke with the sales manager who apologized profusely. I was given her managers email address and I sent him details of the rust as well as images. The next day the sales manager called me back and said the manager offered to buy the vehicle back minus a 20% buyback fee, and I would have to ship it back to him at my cost ($2500). If I accept this 'deal' and after the initial purchase, new tires, brakes, shipping both ways, tax/title/registration, I would lose over $9000. I then asked if he would help pay for the repair (help, not pay for all of) and he flat out refused. This is unacceptable. This vehicle was intentionally misrepresented and not as advertised. I have filed complaints with the AG of my state and his state, filed complaints with the FBI IC3, the better business bureau and am working with my own personal attorney. The vehicle is currently a lawn ornament because it is simply not safe to drive (even though they promised me it was). read more

They bid on their own items from other accounts and when they "sell", they leave themselves positive feedback and repost the vehicles for sale again. Worst part of this transaction is that the sellers agreed to pay for reimbursement and have never taken my calls again. They auction cars on ebay under several different names and sell other BS cheap products under those names to get their ratings up. I made a deposit to "Buy It Now" to end an auction on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler and drove to the dealer to buy it. It looked OK to us and we took it to a local garage to have them inspect it. They told us the entire frame was rusted and there was evidence the entire vehicle had been submerged in water. When we got back to the garage Sharon told us that she had no idea what had happened to the car and she just "sits behind a desk". THEY LIE. The garage told me that had inspected about 30+ vehicles from Trident Auto from other prospective buyers and 100% of them were garbage. Notice you see nothing naming "Trident Auto" in any of the ebay listings. It is because their TRUE reviews are linked to that name. They kept our $500 deposit of course. Lesson learned. I worked with them for a couple days, after providing them a "non-refundable deposit", they decided to sell the car the same day to someone else. I guess the "non-refundable" part of the deposit, is only "non-refundable" if you decide you want to go somewhere else, then they can keep your money, but your deposit doesn't do anything for holding the car. Please don't buy a car from here. I went in to purchase a car on October 3, 2016. First, I was there for a whole hour before they told me the car I came to purchase was gone. They showed me another car just like the one I wanted just a little older I decided to take it as I am a single mother and needed a vehicle. My car has been back there for things going wrong at least 5 times. On the 28th day of me having the car I decided to take it for an oil change and get the complimentary inspection of my car. On my way to the oil change place my driver side front wheel came off my car while I was driving. I git it towed to Trident. They put the tire back on and did a half baked job of an alignment and now my car goes to the tight while driving. So I made another appointment for an oil change and they told me my drive shaft from front to rear was not on the vehicle at all and my radiator was crack and leaking and needed to be replaced. Also the owners wife who sold me my vehicle had put 3 things on a WE OWE YOU Paper and they only fixed 2 of the things and first they told me they would put the drive shaft up then then when I dropped my car off and called to see if it was ready he told me they want going to fix it because somebody either took it off my car or it fell off while I was driving. So needless to say I am in the process of filing a complaint with the MVA and contacting a lawyer. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM. read more

A friend of mine went to Trident Automotive to get a car. She told me good things and how they worked with her to get the car she wanted. I too am looking for a car and was going to Trident Automotive, but there is absolutely no way I'll ever go there. Here's why: my friend bought her car 2 months ago and week and half after purchase, the breaks were grinding. She took the car back to Trident Automotive, but they said they never did the back breaks only the front.  It has been smoking underneath the car. My friend took the car back to them. Trident kept the car a week and "fixed" the issue but car is still smoking. She called Trident about the smoke again, and they told her her warranty was over and there was nothing they can do. Also, the car broke down on the highway a month after purchase. The car jerked, then stopped and smoke started coming from the hood. She checked under the hood to find that there was no coolant. She had the car towed, and had an outside party look at the car. She was told there was a crack in the radiator. She messaged Trident via Facebook inbox and Trident called the next morning wanting to come get the car to fix the car (last Monday 8/15.) On thursday, the car was returned to her. Today 8/23 the car is still smoking underneath. The car has a laundry list of things that are wrong with it, such as it shaking and weird nosies.
