I believe they also do grooming in the back, but I haven't used them yet. Price and selection of foods seems to be better. This is another service I don't need as much, but it's nice to find the furchildren nice little goodies like Turducken wet food. What I appreciate them most about this place is the quality and price of their merchandise. I noticed the price of their cat trees have gone up, but they are still far superior to Pet Smart. Pet smart 'stack' their levels, where as the ones you buy here are 'staggered'. They sell buckle and better breakaway collars for less, with no stupid bells on them. Oh--and check out their awesome selection of all natural dog-treats!

I've got to admit I was a tad bit jelly wishing kitties had adorable baked treats but I understand the diets are entirely different. The layout of the store was easy to navigate with kitties in the back - saw what? Nobody puts kitty in a corner - just kidding! I highly recommend the CatIt line of toys she ball tracks - they build together and are always a winner with my kitty klan! They had a great selection of Oilers jerseys and bandanas for fury friends and collars and tags galore! There's a clearance section in the back left corner of the store just past the public washrooms. Be sure to sign up for their rewards program - first Tuesday of the month is 10% off regularly priced items. Load up a bunch, head to the till and it doesn't ring up on sale. Cashier calls a floor manager to check the shelf, who then checks with the store manager and apparently this was a Black Friday promo that had expired. Even with their mistake of the signage being left up they wouldn't honour the discount out of goodwill. Not even a few pieces. According to the floor manager they don't take part in the Code of Conduct, whatever that means. However if the company can afford to put it on sale for a price, they can afford to honour the sale when the employees haven't removed the signage a few days after the expiration. Incredibly disappointed with the service and likely won't be back.

They also don't come individually wrapped - they wrap them in paper towel and put them in a bag for you. This means they might get freezer burn or stuck together if you don't use them fast enough. So my suggestion is to only buy like 4 at a time instead of stocking up. I honestly think I will keep coming here for worms, but I'll stick to buying my rats elsewhere just for the price alone. You gotta come on Tues/Thurs to get the new worms! If you come on a Monday the selection isn't good and you might be buying 50 but then find that half are dead. So definitely try and come in for the fresh shipment. Sometimes I bring my babygirl Smaug (Bearded Dragon) here and the staff is so nice to here. They love seeing her and she likes to be out and about socializing with all the humans. I like that you can bring your animals here - even the reptiles. I come here just for the staff alone, they're always friendly and helpful. I feel like I get good service here. I also bought my ginger cat, Churchill, here! We saw him in the window a year ago and had to take him home with us! I can't believe that was almost two years ago now! Time flies!

Instead of gently picking him up to examine, she quickly snatched him out of the enclosure, hitting his head on a branch while doing so. She then dropped him onto the concrete as she was standing up. Quickly scooped him up again and then Dropped him into a 10 gallon tank with slightly larger, alert beardies. I asked her when she came back out what would be done for this little guy. "We will give him some calcium and uvb light" Sorry but after managing pet departments, I know this little guy was beyond just a little calcium. At the very least he should have a vet visit and likely some fluids and be force fed until he gets his strength back. Fail, petpros, huge fail. The only reason I made a purchase that day was because I NEEDED gecko food that other stores do not sell. I will now purchase said food online or at the reptile shows before I run out.

Terrible selection and mostly empty shelves. This monster bag should last me til June and I bet that location will be gone too. Unhelpful staff, terrible selection. I wish the St. Albert store was still there.
