Decoration and styling presented one of the biggest challenges leading up to our backyard wedding reception, as we both did not have a clear vision as to what we wanted even after talking to multiple decorators and doing research/homework on looks. We were referred to Dan by AV Party Rentals because we originally thought we needed extensive pipe and drape for our wedding decoration. Dan organized our thoughts into a coherent vision and beautiful look for our backyard space. To say that Dan was pivotal is an understatement. He took initiative in ways that answered questions we didn't even know we had and communicated clearly and in a timely manner. First and foremost... DAN IS THE BOMB! I don't even know where to begin! My fiancé, now husband, and I were postponed several times at our original venue due to the pandemic, and my father was terminally ill so we did not have the luxury of time to postpone any further. So we made the hard decision to cut our guest list to our immediate family and closest friends and we were on the hunt for a new venue that could help us in a short amount of time. We were so stressed and getting extremely worried that we wouldn't find a local venue that could accommodate us. And then we found Dan and his dreamy venue. From the centerpieces, the flowers, decorations, backdrop, the bartender Bear (who was amazing), the DJ Chris (he is so talented and kept the dance floor jumping), catering, lighting and soooo much more. I cannot thank him enough for giving us the wedding of our dreams. He was so flexible, helpful, understanding, HONEST, and patient. I think I might be jealous! I was just reading another review and I thought I was the only one you did all this for!!! It warms my heart to see that others feel the same way about you that I do. As I read her review, I kept thinking about how many events we have done over the years and how you have done all these same things for me. You have talked me off the ledge more times than I can count. You have brought my visions to reality and made the people's jaws drop with your gift of imagination and creativity. Dan has taken my ugly backyard and driveway and transformed it into a club! You would never know you are in the driveway! Dan, I need a 50 foot bar but that will cost too much! "No it won't! Watch and see!" And like magic, a 50 foot bar made from a gazillion milk crates covered with beautiful black stretch fabric at a party with 500 guests! If you want to make your wedding special and do it for the most reasonable budget ever AND find someone who is more than just a vendor but a partner in the process of styling, florals, decor, vibe, art, all these minor details that you don't want to delegate to a family member or 5 different vendors, HIRE DAN. Seriously, he's beyond talented and capable at what he does - this is coming from a total Bridezilla. We got married August 22nd, 2015 at Saddlerock Ranch and I worked with Dan from Feb 2015 until the wedding. By profession, I'm a TV producer/executive and my wedding was nothing short of a production in EVERY way. There's a flow to a wedding and if you want people to talk about it being the most magical night, then you have to produce it like a TV show. Everyone who was at the wedding was stunned at how well "produced" it was and the amount of detail that went into it...I have to say that all the details that I added were very US and Dan took "US" to a new level in terms of details. He added so many special touches and went above and beyond to work within my budget and steer me away from frivolous spending, which you won't get from other wedding vendors. Most people try to take advantage of you as soon as you say the word 'wedding,' Dan does not do that, he's just an honest guy. He's so beyond good at what he does and he will make your night YOUR fairytale. He also has no real boundaries when it comes to creativity and is willing to pitch in and help style everything and anything -- which is key because you don't need to hire a vendor for the arch, a vendor for the florals, a coordinator (we had a great one but he does that too), a vendor for rentals to do the touches (like a lounge made of old trunks and rustic furniture), the set up of the welcome tables, etc. The other thing that he did was he listened and looked at the Pinterest pics I sent him and said, okay, I see what you're going for, he's how we can achieve X for a more reasonable budget than what they probably had here. I also sent him pics of the bouquet I wanted and the one for the bridesmaids and he replicated it and made it better with small touches to make it pop even more, which I was really nervous about...he kept saying it would look the same, but I didn't believe him until I saw it, and ya, it was exactly what I wanted. He's great at getting to know his clients and anticipating what they will want when it comes to the details. There's not really another vendor that I've come across who does this...but that's the other big difference between him and the rest of the vendors out there. Lastly, he also made us cool signs for our chairs that said Co-Executive Producer under our names, which I thought was so cool and unique. It went with our TV theme! I looked at 2 dozen vendors before I found Dan (by accident on Yelp while trying to look for a chandelier to rent)...seriously one of the best hires of the ENTIRE wedding and he made our wedding perfect. If you're getting married, hire Dan/his Trightymite team! He loves what he does and he's not your typical vendor who has some cookie cutter pricing sheet and a way of doing things that is by the book. I hired Dan and his team to build a Canopy over my sweetheart table as well as a Gobo light with the bride and grooms name for my wedding on March 30th. The Canopy was AMAZING. Dan was responsive, professional, and delivered exactly what I envisioned for my wedding. I cried when I walked into the room! That's how pleased I was with the work done by Dan and his team. I don't live in California and I didn't have a chance to meet Dan until after the reception. The great thing about him, was that he was very responsive to emails. I basically had to plan my entire wedding via email so that was really important to me. Also I was amazed at what I could get in my budget. He explained that it didn't take a lot to make a room beautiful and he was correct. The backdrop, drapery and lights were perfect. Hiring Dan was the best decision my husband and I made for our wedding!!!! Not only is he extremely creative and resourceful, he is also very honest and reasonable; something that is rare in the wedding industry. We paid for our wedding out of pocket and didn't think we could afford a full blown themed wedding, let alone having a planner.
