[[HIGHLIGHT]]I do not recommend anyone get tattooed by Maxx Slaughter. He is a person who does tattoos not a tattoo artist.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] He botched my tattoo and even though it's only a year old it looks 10 years old. He tried to blame it on my skin saying different areas take ink differently when the real problem was he didn't stretch the skin enough which led to spotty and inconsistent linework and he did a horrible job with shading it in which was pointed out to me by everyone with eyes. I've since had it fixed by Courtney at Hot Honey Tattoo​ who is an ARTIST who understands that she is PERMANENTLY altering someone's body. Piercing appointments are required even though the website says walk-ins are welcome. Not sure if the piercer had already left for the day, but the shop staff was very dismissive and told us to scan the QR code for piercing availability. Dee is the best! I'm so glad I ended up coming here to get a nose piercing. Dee is straight up, honest and nice. I was selecting my jewelry and mentioned I had a nose piercing before. She said that instead of getting it pierced she could probably just use the hole that was likely already there for cheaper! I had no idea. She knows what she's talking about! Sure enough, I had taken the jewelry out 5 years ago and she was able to locate the hole and use that, resulting in way less recovery time for me (6 weeks vs 6 months or so) and less $! We chatted for a bit after and she's just awesome. I highly recommend this spot for piercings. I'll definitely be back! read more

I'd had my nose pierced 20+ years ago and was excited to have the piercing re-done. Ms Dee was so friendly but she also clearly knows her craft and wants to share the joy it brings her. I took my 7 year old here to get her ears pierced for the first time. Ms. Dee was incredible for a nervous little one. She talked her through the entire process, made sure it was the child's desire to go through with it, and showed her everything she was doing along the way. I had an appointment for 4/1/22 1:30 pm. The day before I was sent an email confirmation and as well as a text reminder of the appointment. I arrived to the tattoo shop on time and no one was there--lights were out. There was no number for me to call, so I reached out to them via e-mail, and Instagram but to no avail. I received the following text at 1:51 from Ms Dee(tattoo artist): "This message is for Erika. This is Dee. I'm running a little late. I'll be at the shop in 5-10 minutes" I understand that things happen but this person had no respect for my time or the common courtesy to reach out earlier to let me know that they might be late. I had to work and couldn't start the appointment around 2pm. My point is that if you're going to charge for a service in advance, provided the service! I asked for my $15 back and they went ghost. The whole experience was unprofessional. I later went to Zebra in Berkeley, cheaper and professional service. read more

Went to get my nipple piercings changed and had an incredible experience. The piercer was knowledgeable (i forgot to get her name but she had long black hair and hella face piercings :)), quick, and so sweet. They had a wide variety of titanium jewelry so it wasn't hard to find the two I wanted. I will definitely be back if I need a tat or another piercing in the future. read more
