This is where I stayed when I was visiting the Redwood Coast. I absolutely loved my time here. Trinidad Inn is a really cute quiet property nestled within the trees. It is located in the city of Trinidad just a short drive from the beach. The beds were cozy and I had a little kitchen with a table in my room. I was sick of eating out all the time on my trip and had the opportunity to cook myself a couple home-cooked meals in my kitchen. There is a grocery store nearby in the town area. I enjoyed going for some evening walks on the property. There is a gazebo with a picnic table at the center. They have a number of DVD's in the office that you can borrow if you want to watch movies in your room. This place is such a gem and I would totally book again. Great customer service too!

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, my family camped at Patrick's Point SP. My brother in law and his wife wanted to join us for the holiday, but did not want to camp. They were glad to find the Trinidad Inn, which is just a couple of miles south of Patrick's Point. The Inn is quaint, cute, and simple. Rooms are on the small side, but feature TVs, microwaves, minifridges, and private bathrooms. The Inn advertises that they are pet friendly; however, my brother in law received a phone call from the hotel that his dog was barking and bothering other guests while he was visiting us in our campsite. Not so much a "complaint" as much as an observation: The Redwood parks generally do not allow dogs on trails, so if you bring a dog on your trip, you can't really take them with you while you explore the parks. So when a motel advertises they are "dog friendly," you would hope they would account for dogs barking in rooms. The little cottages are small and close together, so I can see how a barking dog would be troublesome... but then, maybe don't advertise you're a dog-friendly place. All in all, seems like a nice little place for a quiet couple to get mostly off the grid for a couple days.

Last minute reservations on a whim. I'm so glad we stayed at this little gem of a hotel. Cottages were clean and had a small kitchenette. It was nice to be able to make us a nice breakfast before travels for the day. We especially liked that we had a private trail to hike through the beautiful forest to the beach.

This place was the perfect place we could have chosen to stay. Just the right amount of privacy and the scenery was beautiful. It's quiet in the rooms but you have the option of socializing at the fire pit, bbq, gazebo or basketball court. Adjacent trails to the inn in the redwood forest. Short journey to the heart of Trinidad and to the beach. The rooms were perfect size and clean, with a kitchenette. Plenty of towels and commodities. The inn keeper was helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

This chair was in the woods right behind our cottage.

We headed to Trinidad and on the way up we found this place on yelp. Once we finally got there we were pleased with the look of the place. It sits on the edge of the forest and scenic highway. The woman who ran the place was friendly and helpful. She was very accommodating. We stayed in the family unit which was clean and cozy. Outside of our unit there was a bbq and a firepit which we put to good use. I would highly recommend staying there is you are looking for a place in Trinidad. I give it a 5 star review because we had no complaints and the place was very reasonably priced.

This quiet, roadside inn is amazing. The best inn I've ever stayed at :) My husband and I needed a place to stay the day of for two nights and the lovely, soft spoken lady at the front desk (I'm so sorry I don't recall her name) was so accommodating and hooked us up with cabin 8 for the two nights! First of all, this property is amazing. A forest side, maple tree, fire pit garden dream! Just the quiet ambience of the forest is peaceful enough and then add the complimentary firewood and beautiful landscaping and you are in heaven. The cabin itself was just a cabin until we got in and lived in it for two nights. The heater and water pressure were on point but the best part was the makeup removal wipes and specific towels- so genius!!! And the wall hair dryer that doesn't look like much but my god, that is a mighty, tiny hair dryer :) The bed, couch and pillows were all so comfy and everything was so clean. This place is a gem amongst the Redwoods - we highly recommend you stay here. Plus the entire tiny town of Trinidad is one of the most beautiful places we'd never heard of until now :) Go, enjoy, and tread lightly to preserve this amazing place! Thank you Trinidad Inn!

After leaving an unacceptable lodging in Arcata, I found this lovely inn near the beautiful Trinidad beach area with walking trails, outdoor cooking and sitting areas, and very nice grounds. The room I had was large, clean, included coffee, tea, a small fridge, and working fireplace. The owner, Myra was very welcoming and informative. There are good room size options, all in the beautiful redwoods setting. Good restaurants are near by.

3 stars...... 2.5 isn't an option…read more Overall experience: It ended up being an acceptable time here. There are positives and some negatives that I will explain. Main concerns: * Overpriced for overall stay / experience * Unpleasant, extremely outdated decor; hard to ignore Positives: * Beautiful ocean view * Nice garden * Close to trailheads * Communal fridge filled with cold drinks; breakfast (I know it's a B&B but for this price, in-room coffee would've been nice.) * Very clean rooms * Hosts were kind, pleasant, informative Negatives: * Decor: The first impression was alarming at best. Online photos do leave you with the impression that the decor is dated but it is overwhelming to actually see once there. I had to walk back to the car and process whether I could actually stay here. After looking up availability of neighboring lodging and seeing no options (and considering the loss of money already spent here...), we decided to go inside. Instead of walking in the door, you have to use the old, outdated intercom where you're asked if you have a reservation. After being let in, we were still experiencing a lot of feelings ("creepy" is the word we kept repeating to each other and "Grandma's estate sale".). While the host was polite and informative, the environment / decor was so outdated, it was hard to get past or ignore. I spent half the day working to force myself to not feel uncomfortable here; I should feel good about the stay - not spend considerable vacation time talking myself into not feeling grossed out by it. * Cost of stay: Considering this was the most expensive option in the area, I expected more / better. Besides the overall decor, our bath towels had bleach stains on them. And be sure to bring your own bath supplies. The ones provided that are boasted about on the website.....looks like they bought Dollar store products, stuck old-fashioned-looking labels on and have refilled over and over. I did not feel comfortable using them at all. Summary: * Nice hosts. Great view. That's it. * Would I stay again or recommend to others: Hard no. You think it's obvious to want an ocean view but I'd easily pass on the view for a more comfortable place to stay. We actually left a day early. Could be good if recommendations here and in other reviews are taken and implemented. Relying solely on "the view" isn't cutting it.

I stayed here with my husband and our 2-month-old baby. While we checked out of our room at 11am, it was storming outside, so we took a seat in the lounge to wait out the weather for a short period of time and feed the baby. Within minutes, the innkeeper, Roger, came over to tell us, rather coldly, that "the reservation ended at 11." Despite being fully out of the room and sitting quietly in a shared space (where there was no one else, as the inn wasn't even full), we were asked to leave. His tone was passive-aggressive -- particularly unkind given the circumstances. That was one of a few negative interactions we had with him. In all our travels, we've never experienced such a lack of hospitality -- especially from a place that charges over $300 a night. Most properties are more than accommodating when guests are briefly using common areas after checkout, especially with a baby and during bad weather. After our stay, we noticed some other online reviews describing similarly negative interactions with Roger, scattered among the glowing 5-star ones. Sadly, that interaction left a lasting negative impression. As a result, we won't be returning and can't recommend this BnB to others who value genuine hospitality. It's a real shame, considering the views and location.

Upon arrival we were greeted by our innkeeper for the night and a snack plate that included cheese, crackers, dried fruit, nuts, and salmon was ready for us to take up to our room. This snack plate is prepared everyday. The room was very comfortable and we loved the attention to detail. We stayed in the Egret room and we had plenty of space. The bed was comfortable and could slightly hear the sea lions from our room. No t.v. in the room and it was nice to connect with nature and rest. There was an indoor heater in the closet that we turned on to heat up the room and turned off when we slept. The blankets kept us warm at night. One night after staying out at the fire pit to hang out with other guests, we got back to our room to shower and we didn't have hot water. One of the innkeeper's told us sometimes it happens when too many people are showering at once. Not a deal breaker, although I want to share because this is something that I'd want to know. Back to good stuff...their breakfast is delicious every morning. It tastes like it is made with love. There is a trail down to the beach and a fire pit where they have all the ingredients necessary to make smores. The view is spectacular here. Truly one of a kind.
