photo 20 hours ago…read moreNew I gave a 1 star as there was not a 0. I was in the store with my family March 27, 2026. While shopping, I sat down in an Oak Antique Wooden folding chair with Metal hinges at a desk we were interested in purchasing. When I scooted the chair forward to go under the desk, my left pinky finger caught in the rusted metal hinge. This resulted in the finger nail coming completely off, ripped from the nail bed and cutting the front top half and the back half of the finger wide open and in two pieces. My finger was bleeding profusely and the pain unbearable. I then went to the hospital via Ambulance. 4 hours later, no finger nail and the two pieces of my finger now back together with stitches were now in place. The next day we returned to pick up items we had on hold. Sydney, the owner, came out to the car only after my daughter said my mother is in the car if you would like to check on her (which was sad to have to be prompted to check on someone who hurt themselves on your property) and to see how I was. She said"does it hurt?" I was taken back by her words and lack of empathy and emotion. The employee was more concerned and compassionate than Sydney the owner, at the time of the incident. In addition, the next day, when we returned, my family went to see if the chair had been removed, due to it being extremely unsafe for anyone else to sit in. To our shock, my fingernail with my blood, was still hanging in the metal hinge, so we took a picture of the chair still on the sales floor. My entire finger nail and dried blood visible on the hinge. See attached photo. 2 months later the owner has ignored my attempts of communication to her and now my certified letters requesting only reimbursement of a small amount which was less than what my family spent in her store on several items. The amount requested was my insurance deductible of $671. I believe above everything that this is the right thing to do and is a small amount to pay for a traumatic, unsafe shopping environment. If this was my store and I the owner, I would not hesitate to make it right. I do hope as the owner you do the correct thing.

I have found several wonderful pieces I use as photography props - painted ladders, baskets,…read moreseasonal items, wooden children's chairs, old shutters, window panes, vases, etc. You have to dig for good deals and the really spectacular finds - it's a HUGE space - but that's half the fun. I love going and I always leave with something special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for something unusual, antique/vintage, and/or quirky to use to decorate or to photograph (costume jewelry, gumball machine, coke bottles, vintage ice skates, antique lantern, old quilt with character, are just a few examples). I check back in every few weeks to see the items that rotate through.
