I was a bit apprehensive at first because it was so much cheaper than the other private Pre-K schools we looked at but within the first few weeks we were impressed. The teachers were very engaged and my child, who is shy, took to the teachers right away. I loved that they would get homework and the arts and crafts they did were adorable. There were a lot of field trips and off-site events - awesome for kids. Security is very important here - buzzed in entry, visual recognition of caregiver before child can leave, etc. The class was very diverse. There were easily four or five bilingual children (Indian, Ukrainian, Spanish, Italian).

Good evening, I am writing as a deeply angry and disgusted…read moreparent. Today, when I picked up my son Leonardo, I was informed he had SLEPT ON THE COLD TILE FLOOR because he was "hot." That explanation alone is UNACCEPTABLE, but it gets worse. He was WET when I picked him up this afternoon--his hair, his pants, his coat--completely soaked. And when I asked why, not a single staff member could give me an answer. "I don't know" is NOT an acceptable response when a child is returned to their parent in that condition. The lack of accountability, the carelessness, and the indifference are beyond disappointing--they are DISGUSTING. As someone with experience working in multiple daycares and schools, I know that if a 3-year-old refuses to sleep on a cot, you don't allow them to lay on a cold, dirty floor like an animal. You comfort them, you redirect them, and you provide care. The fact that this didn't happen is a complete failure on your part. Even a dog gets a bed. My son deserved far better than this. And yes, I will say it--had Leonardo not been a young Black boy, I believe this situation may have been handled with more compassion and urgency. He was neglected. There's no other word for it. Let me ask you this: How would you feel if you found out your child took a nap on the cold floor? Or picking him up wet and not exactly given an actual clear explanation ? If he was uncomfortable, if he was upset, if something happened--WHY wasn't I called? As his mother, I should have been informed immediately. Instead, he was left in that condition, and no one took responsibility. This is not just poor care. This is unacceptable. This is disgusting. This is neglect. Leonardo will NOT be returning to your center. I will also be reporting this incident to corporate and taking further steps as necessary. I expect a written explanation, not excuses. Do better!!!!! His teachers have been phenomenal and so patient with him. Special thanks to Mariah and Diamond who had him in toddlers, Amy in Twos and Alyssa and Rachel in EP. Our son needed Birth to 3 services and all of the teachers adopted the strategies needed to help our son grow and thrive. They were even flexible with us about our continued enrollment after summer 2023 which gave us options as we planned for our son's transition to Pre-k and allowed us to breath a little. Everyone there is just absolutely lovely and such beautiful people. They have shown my children so much love and care. My daughter is a Velcro baby, meaning she's a literal baby koala. I can't thank Alexa, Rose, and Renee, in the infant room, enough for holding her when she wanted to be held, as long as she wanted. She then moved up to the waddler room, with new teachers, but they are as amazing as the infant room teachers. Sara, Susan, Chelsea, and Rebecca are literal angels. I just can't thank them enough for everything they've done for my daughter and us. They took such great care of her this past year. My son started in the toddler 2 room with Ms Mimi, Graciela, and Kristie. We absolutely love them! They're all such sweethearts! Ms Mimi is so good with the kids! She knows exactly how to take control of her class, which are all toddlers! Touché to her! Ms Mimi is also so loving and caring. I really couldn't have asked for a better school for my children. They've learned so much while being there and they've made such amazing friends and connections. I also love their security! It's gated, and you need a special passcode to enter the school. Although my children have only had the teachers listed above, everyone in that building is so friendly and welcoming. Ms Carmela is in charge of the toddler program, and she is just so amazing. She takes her time to meet families and hears any concerns you may have. If HCMS was on your list of schools to check out, go with it! You won't regret ever enrolling your kids there. This school is even more academically challenging than our last school and the administration and families have been even more welcoming than we could have imagined. Our children feel welcomed and feel a part of the school community. The administration and faculty care about all of the students and make an effort to know what is going on with all of the kids. Additionally, they have so many great extra curricular activities and special family events (like the Christmas Boutique, Coat Drive for a local Charity, Father Daughter Dance, etc.), that we all feel a part of the community. I can think of no better place than this school to teach my children the basic principles of Catholicism and generally how to be a good person, friend and community member. My only "complaint" is that we didn't find this school sooner.
