This review is not for the childcare itself, but rather the management. We had chosen this daycare…read moresince I was six months pregnant and was promised a spot come the arrival of our son. Fast forward to this Fall, I met with the Director twice, turned in the contracts, submitted payment and even received a door code. Two weeks before my son was supposed to start daycare (and before I had to go back to work), I received a voicemail from a woman I had never worked with saying, "due to staffing issues, we are no longer able to take your son. Sorry." I understand issues come up, but how this news was delivered was completely unprofessional. We called to get answers to questions like "is there a waiting list?" And "are kids moving out of the class soon where there would be an opening?" To which they had no answers. The last correspondence I received was "oh no, we can't take him at all." As a first time mom, finding a day care is extremely stressful! This was locked in at six months pregnant, and was something I definitely didn't think I had to think about two weeks before going back to work. Thankfully, the KinderCare in Cary was so helpful and pointed us to towards some great alternatives (because they were booked) - Cary Early Learning Center, Bright Horizons, Lake Barrington Academy of Stars to name a few. Again, I understand things happen - but HOW this was handled was so disappointing. If you want peace of mind and confidence your child is taken care of, and your daycare won't leave you a message one day saying they can no longer take care of your child, I wouldn't recommend L4C.

My son has been attending KinderCare (Cary) since my wife went back to work after his birth and we…read morehave nothing but wonderful things to say. As a baby his caregiver gave us the impression that she loved him almost as much as we did. She was sad when he moved on as were we. And every class for 3+ years have all been the same. Like any kid he has his good days and his bad days, but when we drop him off on those bad days they never even bat an eyelash. They scoop him up, make him smile and get him involved. He never comes home unhappy and we never have to force him to school. He never fights with us. Which means to us he is cared for the way we would hope. We get reports about his eating and sleeping and behavior. On a day he may not be listening they let us know how they approached it and we take it from there at home. But by no means do we feel that he is mistreated or treated unfairly. Quite the opposite, as we think they truly care about his well being even after he leaves. We highly recommend everybody at Kindercare. They have been nothing but wonderful to our son and our family.

Are you looking for a preschool for your little one? LOOK NO FURTHER! Just register, you won't…read moreregret it. I researched all the local preschools from Barrington to Crystal Lake and St Barnabas was the best decision I could have made for my son. Immediately I felt at ease when talking with the director Kathy. She spent a lot of time talking with me and answering my questions (first timer with a lot). She was more than happy to show me around the school as well (it was summer time and they were closed). My son has febrile seizures so I also needed to put him someplace where I felt comfortable but also where they felt comfortable having a child there that this could possibly occur on their watch (lucky not to date). This was the place that made me feel most comfortable with his seizure disorder! My son is now in his second year of preschool and my youngest is already registered for next year to start in the 3T's program. It makes me so happy to see how my son looks forward to going to school each day. He has learned SO MUCH! He constantly comes home singing or telling me something that he's learned that day and it amazes me! But I love St Barnabas for the culture. The school environment is SO LOVING! It's like dropping him off with family. I know each time I leave he is in great hands. The staff have worked together for years and you can tell they all love what they do! What more could you want for in a preschool? This is the one! I know some have asked about the religious aspect in the school. Even if your NOT religious it's OK to still have your child attend preschool here. Religion is not forced upon you there. Yes it's faith based and my son can now tell me about Jesus and say prayers. It's not excessive. He tells me more about the months of the year and the days of the week.

I can't stress how great Kathy, Chris and everyone there is. They make you feel like family. I can't recommend them enough!!!
