The cauli-wings are so crunchy and flavorful. The sweet potato tacos were not my personal favorite, the jackfruit tacos not bad, but the buffalo chik'n sandwich? To DIE for. Potato wedges were nice and crispy as well. But seriously, can't even tell it was not real chicken. We were in Cape a few days to visit family and excited to find a vegan place on Yelp. We were greeted and asked if it was our first time in. As I'm gluten-free, I asked about options and was given guidance. I ordered the potato skins/fries. The serving size was ample, and they were tasty. My partner ordered tacos, which he also enjoyed. I appreciate that the tea is served in a French press. You get more than one cup. The space itself is fairly small, but it has a mod feel. While we were in, other patrons who clearly were regulars came in. It's great to have Trio in town. read more

We were last here just over four years ago (the last time we were passing through Cape Giradeau and I was happy to see they were still in business! A new owner took over a few years ago and we spent some time chatting with him. He has kept the menu the same and the food was as good as I remembered. This time I had the Jacked Up Tacos with jackfruit, spicy mayo, slaw, tomatoes, avocado, and crispy onions. Hubby had the chili style potato wedges and Caesar salad. If I can get my carnivore hubby into a vegan restaurant, it's always a win and as the owner related to us, he'd like to get more carnivores to try his restaurant out and hopefully get more converts once they try the food. Wow! 11/10 experience and would visit again! I visited Trio for a take-out order around noon on a Saturday. The restaurant was empty and the employee working the register was very helpful in suggesting several different options, including appetizers, main entrees and sides. I went with the jackfruit sandwich and sweet potato tots. The sandwich was so delicious! The sweet potato tots with the pairing of spicy mayo (which wasn't too spicy at all, and I am sensitive to spice) was perfect. The restaurant itself it small but has a good amount of seating and it was clean. Can't wait to visit again soon! read more

Trio is so so good! My girlfriend, who's not a vegetarian, loves the vwgan food at Trio. She highly recommends the quinoa nachos and sweet potato bites. I ordered the the buffalo wedges and thai chili cauliflower wings. The flavor of the wings reminded me of the ones from Applebee's, the ones I secretly miss the flavor of. They were so, so good that I wanted to taken an order of both to go. She offered some of her nachos and sweet potato bites and they both did not disappoint. I was not expecting to like the quinoa nachos as much as I did but delighted that I tried. The service was fast and friendly, especially since we went so close to closing time and the ambiance is so quaint. It could be an option for a cute lunch date with yourself or friends. Maybe even a choice for your weekly meatless/support local businesses meal for the week or month! Let's just say you wont be disappointed! Visiting Cape for a wedding, staying downtown. Lots of cute little places to eat down there but for us plant based people none compare to Trio. Food is excellent. Had the nachos the first day. Day two I walked around, looked at menus and kept thinking "there's a place where the food is just the way I like it" plant based, friendly owner, good menu, and it all tastes great. It is so nice that Cape Girardeau has one vegan safe haven for all the native and traveling vegans around. I've noticed it's a bit challenging eating out as a vegan in Cape. Trio is a great restaurant with fulfilling vegan options. We've all been in that "well, we have salad" situation. Nothing wrong with salads but there is a noticeable difference between a meat eater's idea of a salad and a vegan's idea of a salad. I usually post a great review of this place. Until Thursday December 9th all of the meals here have been wonderful vegan experiences. The cauliflower wings were tiny over breaded over fried floating in sauce. I could not even taste cauliflower. The potato wedges were thinly sliced potatoes not wedges and not served with any sauce. The golden standard drink was grainy, barely warm and had stuff slopped all over the outside. The brownie was 50 percent off and tasted great. I hope this is just a fluke and not what to expect when coming here again as this is the only vegan place in town. read more

Dirty floor, with an even dirtier guy going from table to kitchen. The guy is in basketball shorts and a sleeveless shirt. Just eating his food and casually going to the kitchen and talking to employees. Unprofessional is an understatement. No obvious sense of feel and flow for the space. The owner somehow happened to make a small dining room smaller with the layout. Obvious lack of logic as they have two cameras in one corner, facing the same direction. This is just the beginning. I knew I should have checked the place out before ordering online. Ordering online said food would take 20 minutes. Didn't mind the wait, usually good food takes time to make. Once I got in, cashier said they "didn't see" my online order. There was no one in the restaurant, floor and tables were cleaned POORLY so that tells me they're just f'ing around in the back. Workers are either incompetent, or the owner has no idea how to setup her network, or is too cheap to hire someone to do it right. Will never come back. It's been 40 minutes since my order and still no food. So sad, this place had such promise. No amount of quality food will bring me back. read more

I've never really known it to be very progressive, especially with food, but I'm super happy to see that is changing. I went here with a friend of mine and we shared our meals to get a sampling of a few things. The Buffalo Meet Chick'n sandwich, Macho Nachos, iced tea, U-Be You drink, and Strawberries and Cream Waffle Pop. My favorite wad the Buffalo Chick'n sandwich. Everything was well seasoned and I couldn't tell the chicken was plant-based which surprised me because I've personally tried to cook plant-based chicken and it was not very good, so I was very impressed by how good it was! I will definitely order that again. The nachos were also great, I loved the cashew sour cream, this was my first time having it. All the replacements were delicious. The strawberries and cream pop was great as well. They also sell Fitzs root beer which is the absolute best! I can't wait to come back when I visit Cape again. read more
