When it was time for post season, we immediately paid the fees for the post season/nationals a month before it was scheduled to start. When it turned out that our team would not be able to do post-season due to other team members' unavailability for the summer the business would not refund what we paid. They offered a temporary position on another team which we didn't want. We just wanted a refund for the fees for something that we did not receive. Other families who hadn't paid yet weren't required to pay, but because we had already paid, they somehow thought we did not need to be treated equally. They continually denied a refund. Lesson learned, it will cost you a thousand dollars to be prompt, in the future don't pay until the very last minute.

It teaches them to be a team player and to also take the lead if the ball falls in their court. My son has never really looked forward to any sports aside from Flag Football and gymnastics. So when he found out it was time to register, he was elated. He started off playing tackle at age 5 and he didn't like it at all. I made him play. His coach then and now is Coach Kevin. I am super elated we still have a bond from years back. Octavian trusts him in the game as they have that initial connection. I was team Mom for the Alameda Pirates circa 2013. Zaiah, my daughter is super elated she can still play. She loves to follow in her brothers footsteps all the while maintaining her own identity here and in gymnastics. I like the fact that they bond friendships with their teammates. Looking forward to another season of fun.

I love playing soccer, but I was intimidated to play in other leagues because I don't have a lot of experience. The Albany league is casual, yet highly organized. Its fun for everyone from beginners to seasoned players. You can get a great workout, meet new friends and reduce stress at the same time! The refs are very fair and make sure that a clean game is played to minimize injuries. The other nice thing about soccer is that it's co-ed 5-on-5 with open subbing (teams are usually made up of 8-10 people). So there's not a lot of pressure to put a big team together and it's usually ok if you have to miss a week or two. The registration fees are very fair. If you've ever thought about playing a team sport, I'd definitely look into this. They will even help match you up with a team. It's a great opportunity for people who are new to the Bay Area. The kids had an area where 2 high school coaches led a sort of "obstacle course" relay and there was a room where they kicked soccer goals at a screen and collected points. They had a table set up and pizza delivered. All in all, it was pretty bare bones. The kids had fun, but all in, pretty basic. The did have about 10 boys, so it was at a group capacity, seemingly. From pics, potentially more engaging activities like batting, with maybe less kids? Overall, I'm not quite sure how much it cost, but it was solid. I wouldn't book for my kid who is more active and athletic than what was provided and felt a bit bored, but it could be more fun for those not as into sports but still wanting an active bday party venue indoors. It has tunnels (not cages) set up for ADVANCED hitting -- a super high tech pitching machine that can throw 40 - 90 mph softball or baseball pitches, curves, sliders, and fastballs. It has a remote, so if you are in there with your coach, you can stop the machine and work on your technique. And if hitting isn't all that you need to work on, there is a portable pitching mound to get you out of your slump. Ok...and now for those who are just starting their softball/baseball careers, there is an entire section for little sluggers. This area has tees, a pitching machine that spits out whiffle balls the size of golf balls. YOU HAVE GOT TO CHECK THIS PLACE OUT -- THERE IS NOTHING LIKE IT ANYWHERE IN THE BAY AREA!!!!

My son was hit, punched, called names, he was even pushed and when he fell down the boy jumped on my sons back with his cleats on. That night my son complained of his back hurting and I looked. There was cleat mark bruising on my sons back.I brought it up continually to the team mom because it was her son. When I finally told her i was tired of her son bullying my child she got defensive because I said he was bullying. I pulled my son from tball today. After trying to explain th situation to the president as he kept deflecting the situation, I realized it was because they are all old friends. He mentioned my son isnt innocent he was pouring gatorade on the ground last game and playing with friends. How you can compare that to physical abuse? The board members, coaches and team mom. This group is too tight knit. The president had his mind made up before he even spoke to me it was clear. Very sad situation, very unfair. I feel I failed my son, I should of pulled him out sooner.

So many memories, like winning a state championship and rock climbing with my friends. The Bladium was an experience: to drink, to play sports, to work out, to have fun. I recently came back after finishing college, just to find the main football field and a majority of the weight room gone to pickleball. At first, I did not mind, however, it feels like the only people who come in are pickleball players. Its sad to see my friend's old family business being made into a pickleball center. Even the new company's logo shows where their priority is at. Heartbreaking to see. I will always remember the sounds the floorboards made.
