Yale Electric on the Manheim Pike has the best selection HANDS DOWN! Not only is their selection a step above the competition, but their employees are professional and extremely accommodating! I had the pleasure of working with their sales associate Becky and she was AMAZING! She took her time to be thorough with me in explaining the different types of lighting, my options and was very knowledgeable in design concepts. Becky definitely sets standards for others in her field to emulate and is a real assets to the Yale Electric's sales team! I came in to inquire about having some PVC conduit delivered for my business. I was told by the guy at the counter that there was currently a shortage due to COVID and he'd have to check to see if he could sell me how much I was asking for (a couple thousand feet, which Is typical for what we use in a week). When he returned after checking with Jim in the back, he apologized and told me that he couldn't sell me ANY conduit. I asked why he couldn't sell me ANY at all and he told me that Jim told him that he has to save it all for his "good customers". Meanwhile, I was parked in front of pallets of PVC conduit out front in parking the lot. So, I asked to speak to Jim directly, figuring perhaps I could convince him to at least sell me some to get me by. He came up front and was very arrogant with me right off the bat, as if I had the nerve to even question him about it. Jim told me that he wasn't going to sell to me because "it's a commodity" and he has to "save it for his 'GOOD' customers". Jim then advised me that he was "refusing my order" and then he simply walked away from me and returned to the back room. It seems pretty obvious to me now why they keep Jim in the back since he doesn't know how to deal with customers or be professional at all. Also, he had signs on the door requiring anyone entering to wear a mask, meanwhile he and his staff inside were NOT. My recommendation is to go to Billows Electric Supply for your needs, as I will continue to do for now on. They treat ALL of their customers like 'GOOD' customers.

I REALLY don't recommend getting a lamp repaired here at all…read more I needed a new lampshade harp for a vintage lamp I was giving as a gift. The existing harp (lampshade holder) was too tall and permanently attached so it could not be just swapped out. I contracted to have a new harp and saddle (the part the new harp locks into) installed that would work with my shade. When I got home after picking up the lamp, I noticed the harp was not locking into the saddle because the saddle bracket was way too small. Meaning the thing the lampshade would sit on was not being held securely in place. Immediately called and took the lamp back to the store and they tried different parts, all of which had the same problem. They ended up telling me "that's just the way it is now with parts". They expected me to accept inferior parts and service! During that time I spoke with both the CEO and the President of the store, long story short, they told me they knew the pieces did not fit together as intended and rather than being upfront about it before the work was done, kept blaming it on "Chinese manufacturing" rather than finding a better supplier that made parts that actually fit together. Bottom line is now I'm left with a harp does not completely fit into it's bracket, with no way to lock it into place, short of soldering or gluing them together. They refunded my money for the harp and holder (not the labor of course). But now I have a lamp that was intended as a gift with an insecure lampshade holder and will be looking to find another lamp to cannibalize for the parts and perform the work myself in order to give it as a gift. -- They are perfectly content to use inferior parts that they know are not compatible with each other and blaming it on manufacturing. What kind of business integrity is that? * Harp - the piece a lamp shade sits on * Saddle - the piece the harp locks into for stability

I was served by Paul, a wonderful, soft-spoken fellow. Paul was knowledgeable and steady, despite my emotional exhaustion over this plumbing debacle, and I now trust him. Before I'd spent half a sentence describing my fixtures, Paul knew exactly the type I was talking about and was already on the trail of the needed (albeit very expensive) replacement hardware. The porcelain would be saved. Despite my frothing at the bit, he gently suggested I NOT buy the replacement right away, but measure at home first. He was right - I would have bought something that wouldn't work. Another dead end, thought I, and I was ready to give up. But Paul, that trail cold, made a call to Kohler, sent me a spec sheet for the right parts, and had the parts on my doorstep *less than 24 hours* after I returned the credit card authorization form. One drawback, either Ferguson's or Paul (or the whole plumbing industry?) is stuck in the fax age and wary of email. I can't remember the last time I had to interact with a fax machine.

A different sales person was there and i told him i wanted to return the shades since they did not work for me. The sales person told me they do not take returns after 7 days. I informed him that it was only six days, in addition I was never told that at the time of sale. He continued to say he could place a special order because he can't give a return. He grabbed the lamp shades without giving me a refund. I stopped him from taking them until I received my refund. He refused to give me a refund for at least 45 minutes! I even called my credit card company to find a way to cancel my purchase. The sales person was taking pictures of me while I was on the phone with the credit card company. The person on the phone could hear parts of the conversation and was concerned. I asked for his name. He refused to give it to me. I asked if he owned the store. He did not, so I asked for the name of the owner and how to contact her or him. Was told the owners name was Steve Yack and I could reach Steve by calling the store, but he was not there, or email him at chesterlighting503@gmail.com. As I was writing an email while in the store, the unnamed salesperson insisted he would give me a refund if I signed a blank piece of paper. I did not. Finally he processed the return. I also took pictures of the sales person after I saw him videoing me or taking pictures while I was on the phone with my credit card company. This was the most abysmal customer experience. A quick 5 minute exchange turned into an unnecessary 45 minute fiasco. I always try and support local small businesses however this business is one I strongly advise you avoid. I did send the email to the owner but did not yet receive a response. Very sad.
