Unfortunately, they forgot to apply the same reminder system to their own barbers: I made an appointment two days prior and arrived to find my chosen barber in the middle (definitely not the end) of cutting someone else's hair! The co-owner does not care about the safety of his customers or coworkers. He refused to wear a mask and was extremely rude when I asked him to wear one. He told me he "didn't need to" and then stormed away. I talked to the other owner who seemed deeply embarrassed that his colleague acted this way. This is the first time I have ever left a one star review on all platform.This shop does not honor its' reservations. Here is what happened: Walked in around 5 for a haircut, it is all booked unitill 8 so I have to make a reservation, a kinda cool chubby baber with tatoo on his arm put my name and phone number on the system for a reservation of 8 or 8:30, I think his name is Chad said I will be expecting Wyatt on the second chair, by then I was still expecting the haircut based on the vibe of the shop and my last experience. At the time of 7:45, I called the barber shop trying to say I might be a couple minutes late for 8, but no one picked the phone and I thought probably all barbers are busy. Hurried to the baber shop at 8:15, the shop seems already closed and the door is locked. I understand there might be emergencies happened and have to close the shop ahead of time, but the least you can do I guess is give me a call or text me. And for the context, today is Feburary 2nd according to the Lunar calendar, and according to Chinese custom, all guys have to get a haircut on this day. I do not understand this custom enough(all I know is pray for the good luck)but I have kept getting my haircut on this particular day for the first 23 years of my life,and that is the reason I am more pissed than usual because I cannot find any other baber shop/hair saloon still open at 8:15 pm on Monday. And I am even more pissed when my parents text me to check if I actually get my haircut today. read more

I wandered into this place before it's official opening just to see what it was and loved the environment immediately. I'm one of those people who believe the art and beauty of life has started to disappear from our culture. People don't dress up to go to the movies anymore, we don't talk to people anymore unless it's through a screen, and we get our hair cut at the nearest Dollar Cuts or similar salon. That's all well and good, but if you're looking to return to the classy state of the gentleman, this is the place to start. I especially recommend Rich, as he is one of the nicest down-to-earth guys you'll ever meet. However, if he's not available, any of the guys there is a top-notch classy gentleman (or lady). At a regular salon, my haircuts have been hit or miss in the past. These guys have never given me a bad haircut and are more than happy to answer questions, address concerns, make recommendations about styles and/or products. Don't go here to get a haircut, you can do that anywhere. Go here to have an experience, to be treated like a gentleman and to feel like you're more than just another appointment in a long line of customers. I was passing through Salt Lake on my way back from a week in The Maze, Canyonlands last year. Hadn't shaved for a few weeks prior to that. I was rough! Booked online the night before with Fletcher for an early-morning birthday present to myself: Shave and Hair Cut. I'm a tough shave with a coarse beard. Fletcher was phenomenal! He tried to read my "Chris Stapleton" looks by accommodating with his music, only to find I was a 90s Grunge fan hiding below. Can't count the number of shaves I had with "professional barbers" that used a dull razor, left me bleeding or left islands of hair. Fletcher was worth every penny. Don't let Erin touch your hair. Unlike every other barber there (I have had 4 others) that does solid work, she does a quick shoddy job, and left me with a disappointing and uneven cut. As I know it must be tough to be a female barber in a mostly male shop, I wish I could give her the benefit of the doubt. I've have been with these guys from the ground up and can say they are the best of the best. Each one of them have their own unique style but still keeping it classy and up to date. When you visit the shop you are welcomed with a warm masculine feeling. Shoe shine booth, pictures of old shops back in the day, men talking with their barbers and not being rushed in the processes. I trust each one of these guys with my hair and have yet to let me down (no pressure guys ;) ). The price might be a little high for most but you get a lot for the money. Today my husband and son came here for the first time, and we never want to go anywhere else again. This is the absolute best barbershop in the Salt Lake Valley. The experience was flawless: we made appointments, and their barbers were ready for them as soon as we arrived. The place has a very classic, high-end feel. The haircuts were perfect, and the conversation during the haircut was great - comfortable, easy, and engaging. This place was recommended to us by someone who drives two hours to come here, and it is definitely worth the drive. The price is $20 for a kid's cut and $25 for a men's cut, but it is worth SO much more. We will be coming here from now on, I can't say enough about the quality of the haircut we got. Not a great experience. Beard trim left my boyfriend's neck bleeding and stubbly. The haircut was pretty terrible, and he left covered in hair. so much hair that he had to come home and shower, as he was leaving a trail of hair all around the house and in his car. His hair looks shapeless and odd, and they didn't really listen to what he was asking for. As this was supposed to be a fun pampering treat for him, we are both pretty disappointed. So I scheduled an appt for 11:30 am last Saturday, and as I'm getting ready to leave the house our son has a freak accident getting off our trampoline. I figure I can drop off my wife and son at the Salt Lake Instacare on 9th East and still be relatively close to the barbershop although at this point I doubt I'm going to arrive on time. Obviously the thought occurred that I should give them a call, but that's not always what happens when you're dealing with a screaming and bleeding 8 year old. So I pull up and run in 8 minutes late. I fully understand that Carlos is a master of his craft and the haircut most likely isn't happening, but I figure maybe they can fit me in later today or tomorrow. What I didn't expect is that I was going to be completely cold shouldered when I got there. Apparently they've been trained to assume that if someone arrives late, they've done it just to spite their existence. Literally I was a ghost to these people for nearly 10 minutes like they had taken it personally. I've been coming here for over a year and was starting to feel like something of a regular, I've gotten cuts from a little over half the barbers here, I've recommended countless family and friends to get their hair cut here. Jason was literally five feet in front of me cutting someone's hair and did't even acknowledge my presence, not a nod, no eye contact, not a simple hi. Chad was in the back corner and didn't say a thing, and another women I'm unfamiliar with was also near the back cleaning up but wouldn't acknowledge my presence either. So I stood there twiddling my thumbs for nearly ten minutes when the woman finally came over to tell me what I already knew. I thought times were tough for barbershops during these times, but apparently these guys have it figured out to the point where even regulars are treated like strangers. But who knows, maybe I'm setting the bar too high to expect that I be greeted or acknowledged where I choose to spend my money. read more
