The hotel provides breakfast every morning in their 2nd floor terrace; variation of fruits, oatmeal, toast, avocado and eggs however you like them. They also offer massages; we booked an hour massage for 2 on our last day. They came and did them directly in our room! It was very convenient and the prices are excellent. I didn't get many pictures because I mostly took videos. Rooms are beautifully decorated, very clean and AC worked perfect.

You want to disconnect from civilization without sacrificing luxury, this is your place. Located within the Mayan jungle, it is a juxtaposition of modern meets old and wilderness with a nice touch of delicious food and drinks. One can tell that they poured everything into creating this dream of a paradise; from their excellent customer service, beautiful resort, breathtaking location (the lagoon of the 7 colors is AMAZING!), delicious food to and all the little details that make a stay unforgettable. I don't see the problem of not having activities besides relaxing in the middle of the jungle and swimming in a crystal clear cenote lagoon...that's why one goes to the Mayan peninsula! The hotel is located on the Zocalo of Bacalar, just a few blocks from the lake and with plenty of dining options nearby. Our room was nicely decorated with a comfortable queen sized bed, air conditioning, and a kitchen area with dishware, coffee maker (but no coffee), a stove and refrigerator. Bottled water is also provided. Our private bathroom was clean and had good hot water in the shower. Veronica, the owner was very friendly and helpful during our stay. We were there in the high season of December and it was a relative bargain compared to other hotels that are right on the lagoon - we paid about $60 US/night. There are less expensive rooms but they do not have air conditioning and you have to share a bathroom. Laguna Bacalar is a beautiful place and I look forward to returning

The…read morefirst night I spoke with receptionist and after arguing with me and evading my questions, he told me that it was only on Saturdays. Okay, so I didn't try to check out and book someplace else, but the same thing happened again. Also they tried to put us in the wrong room when we arrived (didn't match the pictures at all) until I insisted, and then the room we were supposed to have wasn't set up- didn't have the bottled water we were promised or even a blanket (just sheets). When I went to ask for a blanket, the one I was given was damp and I had to make the bed myself. They also haven't given me the correct size towels and the terrace isn't set up- cushions are in a pile and the chairs aren't in a usable arrangement, plus half of it is so dark at night that I couldn't see to read a book. A lot of the decor is also not in great shape and it's dated, which I probably could overlook if I weren't so sleep deprived.
