My experience with this business is very pleasant and that's why I'm sharing this review with the world however you must know that this place is designed to be a place for individuals who are looking to spend some time in a quiet and beautiful zone you get to enjoy the beautiful lagoon, swim without any restrictions , the food they offer is really good but you can also rent a car witch I recommend so you can drive to the Bacalar town at anytime you feel like it's very safe. The service staff is extremely friendly and wanting to accommodate you in any way. The rooms are simple but comfortable and charming. They provide activities everyday which are highly recommended. The tour guides help explain history, social nuances and fun facts. The drives can be long (an hour one way) but are definitely worth it. They range from kayaking, ruin tours, city exploration, swimming in sink holes etc. They have surprise events sprinkled in throughout! This seems to be a more local Mexican destination vs international but I liked that. It felt special, authentic and unique from other Mexican resorts that cater to more partying and alcohol. The hotel is located on the Zocalo of Bacalar, just a few blocks from the lake and with plenty of dining options nearby. Our room was nicely decorated with a comfortable queen sized bed, air conditioning, and a kitchen area with dishware, coffee maker (but no coffee), a stove and refrigerator. Bottled water is also provided. Our private bathroom was clean and had good hot water in the shower. Veronica, the owner was very friendly and helpful during our stay. We were there in the high season of December and it was a relative bargain compared to other hotels that are right on the lagoon - we paid about $60 US/night. There are less expensive rooms but they do not have air conditioning and you have to share a bathroom. Laguna Bacalar is a beautiful place and I look forward to returning
