The food was just average. The curry is better than the oxtail, which was oddly sweet. Plantains has been left out too long and were hard and dry. The owner was also oddly unfriendly. I asked a few questions about the food and her answers were short and disinterested. I found the price to be be expensive for Caribbean food- for $20- large combo order- I got 2 scoops of rice and peas, three small pieces of curry chicken and three small pieces of oxtail and 3 pieces of plantains. We got this on UberEATS because of the reviews on here. We were super under impressed and it was not appealing. My husband got the jerk chicken and I got the jerk pork it was all fat pieces and tons of bones in it. The rice has no flavor nor did the plantains that were rock hard. I have been in the Brandon/Riverview/Tampa Bay area for over three years and have been on a quest to find a good Jamaican food restuarant. I've literally thrown my plate in the trash after tasting a spoon ah di dry rice,etc. In the past I've been driving 40 mins all the way to Jamaica Jamaica in Town and country. Now I can save gas and time and be satisfied. This is hands down the best Jamaican food in the area. If you're looking for true authentic Jamaican food- you've food your spot. I was born in Jamaica so trust me when I tell you its authentic. Even my jafacain husband like his food. I'm leaving a negative comment because tropical Rhythm really messed up. I didn't even get a chance to try the food because I ordered off bite squad and they failed to notify bite squad that they didn't have what I ordered so I waited an hour and a half and got a call from bite squad telling me that my order that I've been waiting on, they don't have anymore I guess. Which my thing is if you're out of something why did you accept the order! Great, authentic, Island cuisine! Family owned and operated for an endearing feel! My wife and I have had beef patties all over the city, and these are by far the best. Great food! My boo is Guyanese and since moving to the Tampa Bay area we have had no luck finding the type of food he loves, We came across this place on a fluke and he LOVES it. He loves their beef patties, and soups and the jerk chicken. I am not one to favor this type of food but even I like the jerk chicken and their gravy from the stew chicken is out of this world! I am a fan of their food, however their Mac n cheese was not to my liking. Also, the customer service was poor. I placed a call for a pickup order, and the response given was "Okay, be on your way" in a nonchalant manner. NOT a time frame of when the food would be prepared, which would have been more appropriate. Seeing how the associate wouldn't know my distance of traveling to the restaurant. Ok, so here is the low down ball stank on this place: This is a order take-out sorta joint, all though you can dine inside at a few of their tables, but when I'm going full chow on some jerky chicken I like to strap the feed bag on in my own crib, you feels me? So get the large , cause that gets you basically a giant portion of jerk chicken (or meat of your choosing) and rice. They do add like a small serving of plantains or cabbage on top, but it so small you could miss it. They gave me extra some oxtail sauce and jerk sauce, both of which were delightful. We tried this place on recommendation of friends of ours. Food was excellent. I had the curry goat. My wife and son had curry chicken and jerk chicken. Both were really good as well. As time goes on , I'm starting to feel so disappointed. Ackee and Saltfish is cooked with no scotch bonnet or much flavor . They might be boiling the salt out of the fish for too long , Idk .
