They're a bit inconsistent. When they're good they're really good, but the last few times I ordered the food wasn't as flavorful as I'm accustomed to from them. The atmosphere is welcoming. This is my second time eating here and I can say that I'm truly satisfied with the food I received. I've only tried the oxtails and they are nicely seasoned and fall off the bone. The rice and peas are cooked to perfection and so is the cabbage. One of best patties I've had out here in Florida. The crust is seasoned to perfection, super flaky and meat is so tender. The mild heat is Perfect but I look forward in trying the spicy. My friend enjoys the curry chicken platter always. It's his favorite meal that this place makes. Went to Jerk Hut (Fowler location) on Sunday for the all-you-can-eat brunch. The food was amazing as usual, and the service was great. The only issue we had was that the live music was extremely loud, to the point where we had to be reseated. With it being Sunday brunch and a low crowd, it felt a bit overwhelming. The service here is just unacceptable you walk in and nobody greets you or even looks at you I placed a to go order and they gave me half of my food then had me wait an extra 35 minutes for the rest of the food which was just fries! Half of the items they kept saying they didn't even have. If they weren't so busy chatting it up maybe it could've been quicker this is just ashame the staff has ran this place to the ground it used to be so warm and inviting at the previous location in that area. Blah ... I was on a layover and stumbled upon this food truck in downtown Tampa. It's nesseled in the corner on N. Florida Ave. This may change considering it a mobile food station. But overall a great location, parking is based on the street price that day. The vibrant truck is fitting for it's Jamaican roots. It also comes with a nice little patio for you to dine and dash (after you pay) of course :) Customer service was on par with a Jamaican restaurant, dry and straight to the point...and I wouldn't have it any other way. The food however should not be so dry. The chicken portion I received was great. It just needed some type of juices or gravy. I was given this red sauce on the side but no only was it not fitting for the entree... But it wasn't nearly enough for the dry rice and pinto beans, and chicken. Overall I would give them another chance, but a little more attention to detail would make a dramatic difference in the quality of the food. Pro tip: If you don't want to eat here, there is a cool park with even more small tables and chairs with ample shade. The park itself is less than a 3 min walk, ask any local and they surely can point you to it. read more

I visited the Fowler location last week with my family because we heard the rum punch was delicious. Upon being seating we were greeted by my fellow country man Joseph . It was a pleasure to talk to him while reminiscing about Guyana. He convinced us to try the buffet and it did not disappoint. Everything was delicious including the rum punch we came for. Normally they are good, we have ordered thru there catering quite a few times but this time was DIFFERENT. Im not sure if it was a new cook. The cabbage didn't have ANY flavor this time. The jerk sauce was on the chicken instead of on the side normally when we get it the sauce is on the side. The rice was a little harder than normal. On the buffet line, there were different types of rice, curry chicken, pork, beans, salt fish, fried chicken, etc. Pretty much most Jamaican dishes, excluding goat and oxtails (there may have been some if we would have arrived earlier. We arrived around 1pm). The rum punch drinks were more on the punch side, so I'd skip the sugar next time; but I'd love to visit this location again.
