Awful smoothie. I get this smoothie all the time at other locations. I had dental work done here in Chesapeake so I needed something to make me feel better for my long trek home (I live in Yorktown). I frequent a few locations close to me and this is my go-to smoothie. Imagine my disappointment as I take my first sip 10 min into the trip and find out something was stale and gross in my smoothie. Initially, I thought it was an aftertaste from the dentist but as I kept trying to drink it, I realized it was the actual smoothie. It made my stomach hurt! The fam came in on a Sunday afternoon. Our picky 9'year old chose the kids grilled cheese, a banana, and a chocolate monkey smoothie. He loved his grilled cheese and ate it all, which is why I automatically give them a 5 star. Lol Hubby ordered an avocado grilled cheese and an avo colada smoothie. First time ordering at this location. I ordered through the app ! My confirmation email said my food would be ready at a certain time, I came into the cafe about 7 minutes earlier than that listed time. (Some locations make you stand in the regular line even if you ordered through the app so I went in early just incase I'd have to wait in line). When I went in my food was sitting on the counter with a receipt along with a few other orders that I assume were ordered through the app. My concern is 1. How long was my food sitting out in the open 2. Is there not a way to tell us that our food got done earlier than expected 3. Literally anybody can just grab your food off the counter because it's out in the open and the staff didn't double check if it was even mine . It's a win win situation in a sense. Two other locations that I've been to have the food kept behind the counter which means nobody can steal your food BUT you do have to wait for staff to assist you which takes forever. But with this location and the online orders being on the counter you don't have to wait in line BUT it's easy for people to steal your food if you don't come in earlier than the listed time sent in the confirmation email. My food and smoothie were pretty good but my cookie was stale and hard as a rock. Overall (this is based on my one experience at this location) I'll say bravo ! Just have to get used to the food being on the counter and definitely go inside earlier than the listed time ! But do not hand out those stale cookies anymore, I'd rather you tell me you ate them all than give me a rock. read more

Worst smoothie ever. Throwing it out. Either they used Splenda though I said no Splenda, or they are just bad smoothies. Splenda is linked to GI issues and inflammation. This is not something I particularly want to do right now, but I'm really pissed off. I order from this Tropical Smoothie in Greenbrier every single week for my daughter and her coworkers, sometimes twice a week. I always place the order directly from their app and they outsource the delivery to Doordash. Now the orders are not complicated, they're just fuckin smoothies. Now I'm a reasonable person, I understand that sometimes mistakes happen. About a month ago, I placed my usual order for my daughter and her coworkers...and they delivered everything, EXCEPT for my daughters order....ok, mistake one.. I called the store and about 45 minutes later they finally delivered her her smoothie. And today (Mon, 11/1/21) I ordered 7 smoothies. And once AGAIN, they failed to deliver my kids smoothie. Mistake #2. WTF? Everyone in her office got theirs but my daughter didn't get hers. What are yall doing over there Tropical Smoothie? This ain't rocket science. I ordered 7 smoothies, I expect 7 god damn smoothies...especially the one for my kid. I realize that Door Dash is the one doing the delivery, but Tropical Smoothie is the one ultimately responsible for making sure that the orders physically leaving the store is what's actually ordered. Both looked at each other with the look of which one of us is gonna do our job and assist the customer. Horrible experience went to this location for the 2nd time since its around the corner from my job and the customer service is HORRIBLE. Ordered a jetty punch that I waited 18 mins which made me late for work for NOTHING...Only customer left in the store as i watch all 3 employees walk right past my half made smoothie. One girl started it obviously didnt know how because she re did the smoothie 3 times until she just gave up then left it in the blender. Still I waited patiently as I see the smoothie sit in the blender while all 3 employees walk right past it...finally the guy on the shift stopped and asked what I ordered. Told him the order he proceeded to put the smoothie i order in the cup finally tasted it and it's like I was drinking a cup of water.
