Terrible experience here on a Friday morning. The "manager" who looks all of 18 years old is super rude. She asked us to move chairs back after our baby had moved them. The store was empty and our intent was to put everything back before we left. But this rude "manager" was so lazy. And had to interrupt her time in the back. Even our 5 year old commented on the fact that "nobody works there" caz they were in the back. God forbid the lazy manager has to actually move her body. I ordered two Bahama mama smoothies and neither of them were made correctly it tastes like a banana smoothie when bananas aren't even included in the recipe I've also had multiple issues with this specific tropical smoothie in the past!! I highly recommend going to a different location if you want your drinks/food made correctly , please teach your workers how to make things correctly I used to work at a tropical smoothie location and it truly is not that hard to work there!! read more

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here because this tropical smoothie location in Friendswood is great! I've become at least a weekly regular here for a post workout protein smoothie. The customer service has been nothing but friendly, and they always make a good recommendation when I want to try something new. So far my favorite smoothies are their island green, avocolada, detox island green, triple berry oat, and acai berry boost. I've also tried their Thai crunch island flatbread with a side of their kale/apple slaw, and that was surprisingly good too. The smoothies here all use fresh fruits from what I saw them use. Tropical smoothie cafe also has a relatively easy to use app that makes ordering ahead a lot easier so you can quickly just pick it up when you're on the go. This Friendswood location is very clean, and conveniently located near a lot of different gyms. My goal is to try all of their smoothies at least once haha enjoy! read more

I came in Wednesday to grab my smoothie after my run and was greeted by the manager I'm pretty sure her name was Sam, I asked her name but can't 100% remember her name, But I had the best encounter with her not only did she make my smoothie fast and get it out to me as soon as possible but she held a conversation with me like she knew me and it's just refreshing to see that good people still work in the food industry I hope this girl gets what she deserves in this store as i know how toxic some restaurant environments can be. The girl ( long brunette, VERY skinny very alternative looking with bangs ) didn't interact with me at all aside from "cash or card". There wasn't a friendly atmosphere even with the bright colors and playful music. I sit down and less than 2 min. Later I get a bag of my açaí bowl even though I'm comfortably sat at a table and never said to go(felt very much like a "we don't want you or really anyone to stay ) and my açaí bowl is LACKING. It's literally the worst açaí bowl I've ever had , there was basically no smoothie part and the fruit was unappetizing . Charged me $11 and some change for a very small childs bowl. 0/10 would actually recommend to not come by this business. read more

Staff super nice, except for this one guy his face just made me mad it was uncanny looking and i think his name started with a D. He gave me a lot of stuff on my acai bowl though so were even. The acai bowls are so good the other reviews just came on a bad day. oh how my experience was a 100/10! FIRST OF ALL, I never ever go into business 20 mins prior to closing because I feel as if that could be sort of rude to order near closing time when there's probably much to clean and prep. But the past week I've been dealing with a recent diagnosis of chronic illness. Been out of work and can only eat and drink certain things and so I was desperate for something on the healthier side to fulfill tonight's cravings. Not only did the staff practically looked JOYFUL that I was coming in, they looked happy to serve me. Both male and female behind the counter have such great energy and customer service. After ordering I chose to sit down due to pain and after my smoothie was finished pretty quickly they even went around the corner and presented It to me without calling my order from the counter and having to get up! Extremely unsanitary. One of the employees jumped on the counter to reach something, with the bottom of her shoes touching the counter-space where food is handled. She was also rubbing her face and nose, touched the cash register and money, did not change her gloves-- and proceeded to handle the food. On top of that, grabbed the granola with the same dirty gloves and put it in the açaí bowl. If they do this in FRONT of the customers, imagine what they do when they are not in the store! Was very clean and accomodating to small food restrictions I have post-surgery. I normally wouldn't have asked for modifications but they were weird small things I couldn't eat, I was really hungry and wouldn't be able to get home for four hours. The thai wrap was well made minus what I couldn't eat and I had a choice of a banana as a side. It was a nice ripe banana. The sandwich was very fresh and very good. I omitted the wontons and had very light sauce added on. I would definitely come again. I didn't have a smoothie because I like to eat my calories instead of drinking them. Place was spotless and clean when I walked in! Was greeted immediately by the staff. I asked for recommendations and she was very thorough describing the items and how the combos worked. We got a island green smoothie, a Bahama mama and a couple quesadillas. Everything was delicious and FRESH. I usually love this place and I frequent it quite often. However, I called just now to ask a question (clearly and politely) and was talked to like I'm stupid which was highly unwarranted. The (presumably teenage) girl I spoke with didn't understand my question so instead of asking for clarification just kept saying "oh... Kay???". I rephrased and broke it down 3 separate times, to no avail. Not sure what there was to not understand or be belittling about. I've tried this place three separate times, the first time I got me and few others smoothies, mine was very dull in flavor I will say it had a great after taste, but the main thing it left me and the two other people that got smoothies, with horrible bloating, migraines, and a fever. The second time I ordered, I ordered a smoothie and a wrap, normally when I order wraps from places the meat is a nice warm temp so the lettuce and other condiments aren't soggy and wilted, this wrap was piping hot the lettuce was slimy as all get out, and the smoothie I had ordered I made sure it wasn't one that had any pineapple(severe allergy) well after drinking a 1/4 of it I started to realize I was having a small allergic reaction like I was eating pineapple, and I went and double checked the ingredient list to make sure there was no pineapple, and there wasn't so with that being my only major food allergy it's to the bottom of there was probably trace amounts in the blender that didn't get properly rinsed. Third time I don't think they actually cared and just threw everything in the blender and called it a day, I ordered the watermelon mojito and about halfway through the cup all I got was watermelon, and the rest of it was full on mint that's all you could taste and on top of that every sip of the smoothie was very grainy and was picking at my teeth all day. And my biggest thing is the customer service no one says anything when you come in and it feels like no one wants to be there and the attitude you get is very off putting. read more
