I only recently discovered tropical café, and it's too close locations to me. Both offer a delicious smoothie. I just have to recount what just happened to me when I went to order an almond banana protein smoothie that I know was already taken off the menu. I was there two days ago and the gentleman told me it was taken off the menu and that he could make it for me anyway subbing peanut butter. I asked for that today and the girl behind the counter said she didn't remember how to make that almond butter one even though it was on the menu a week or two ago? Either way, the manager got involved and basically was snappy with. What do I want? And I said that I wanted the almond banana but just made with peanut butter and she said do you not understand that I do not even have a button??? I was so taken back by her rudeness that I said I would just go to Robinson. Maybe they have what I need. And she said yeah go ahead and go or good. Unfortunately, I won't be back to this location because one thing I can't tolerate in this life is disrespect among grown adults. read more

I stopped in for a smoothie on a Monday, around 2PM and they were rather busy. I was able to place an order with little wait. The place smelled like burnt bread or something, I tend to notice most of these joints smell like this, I wish they'd use better ventilation. Took about 5 minutes for my smoothie to come up. The girl serving it yelled a name, not mine and sat it on the counter and went back to doing something else. I assumed it was mine, the name she yelled was close to mine. I went up and asked if it was mine, with the add-in I requested, she said yeah and that was it. I then saw the label on the side and it had my name. The drink itself was OK... Rather non-sweet, mostly tasted like it had lots of ice and hardly any strawberry flavor, it definitely didn't taste like the flavors in the Strawberry Daquiri tho... Not at all. It's healthier than the Shake Factory next door... At least it's got one thing going for it. read more

For something with smoothie in the name, there didn't seem to be many choices. Only one size for smoothies. I had the pomegranate plunge and it was bitter and a little too runny. If there's a smoothie king nearby, I would 100% choose that over this, heck, I think I'd rather have a McDonalds smoothie. I didn't have food so can't comment on that. read more

Finally tired Tropical Smoothie Cafe after a trip to the gym. I had a coupon for $1.99 smoothie, so I knew I had to try it. When I entered, I was a bit overwhelmed with all of the options and wished I was offered some assistance. I went with the açaí berry boost smoothie and it was delicious! The cons: 1. I waited over 15 minutes for my smoothie... they were decently busy, but 15+ minutes is a bit much for a smoothie. 2. The smoothie was very big. They didn't have size options which is a big turn off for me. I don't always want a large portion. I wish I could give this cafe 3.5 stars, but I went with 4 since they are new and probably still trying to figure things out! I really enjoyed the smoothie that I got from Tropical Smoothie Cafe, it's close to your typical smoothie shop like Smoothie King or Jamba Juice. Their menu has a lot of options from typical smoothies to protein smoothies, and they offer food options too which is where they are different, their prices are actually better for the price and the amount of smoothie you get is a lot more than what you would get at some of their competitors. I also like the vibrant and clean store interior, the cashier was very polite and upbeat she explained to me about their mobile app, and the rewards system also how you can pre-order and have your order waiting there for you if your pressed for time which is a nice option that their competitors don't offer. All in all I will definitely be stopping back in I enjoyed the smoothie. read more

I stopped here for a quick lunch. I ordered the chicken quesadilla. It was ok, not amazing, but adequate. If I had to be critical it was very small. It tasted ok, but I could of eaten three of them. That being said, a quesadilla and a Diet Coke was only $8 and change. I would of paid $13 for a quarter pounder meal at McDonalds. The place was very clean and the staff very nice. This little plaza is getting a Jersey Mike's and a Milkshake factory. I really like Mike's so that's a good thing. I guess all in all it's worth stopping to try this place out. It seems very health conscious, if you're into being healthy this is probably a good option. Hopefully they will do well. We need a few more options for food by the old airport. read more

This is one of my favorite places! It's quick like fast food but soooo much better. They have a ton of different options from wraps to flatbreads to salads. It's all on the healthier side too! I had no idea Tropical Smoothie was in the area until recently and am SO EXCITED they are! I used to live off Tropical Smoothie when I lived in VA Beach. Delicious smoothies at a very fair price. Plus they have different sandwiches and wraps! Get the Sunrise Sunset smoothie to feel like you are on the beach basking in the sunshine. There is also the option to add different enhancements which is nice if you are looking for an energy or immune boost! If you are looking for lunch I recommend Caribbean jerk wrap. I placed an online pick up order and the website was really easy to use. I ordered the Baja chicken wrap, Apple slaw on the side and a Dragon fruit smoothie.
