they always forget to add nutella to my acai bowl even though I will order an acai bowl with nutella. I will also ask for nutella to be added onto other bowls and I will get charged but there wont be nutella drizzled ontop. If i pay for nutella, id like nutella to be on my bowl. read more

I see Tropical Smoothie around town, and we were talking about it at work recently, so I thought I would give it a try. I wasn't sure what to make of this place, but I'm kind of glad I did. I did the drive through since I was in a rush. I wasn't sure what to get, but I knew I didn't want any food and just a smoothie. I will say, they do have a fabulous selection of drink choices here, which I was impressed with. I can't remember the name of it, but I went with the banana strawberry drink which was $5.71. The drink itself was huge, so it kind of validates the prices, and it was surprisingly good. My coworker had gotten me the Mocha one at work last week, which was fabulous as well. I don't know that I'm brave enough to eat the food here, but maybe in the future. I glanced at the menu, but wasn't really interested in anything at this time. Staff here is efficient and friendly, and overall not a bad place. Not the cheapest in town, but really hit the spot and I could imagine myself coming here more in the summertime for a nice cool smoothie when it's hot. Thank you Tropical Smoothie! I don't come to Tropical Smoothie too often, or at all really but every now and a blue moon I stop by with a friend or for a smoothie to go. I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted and my surgeon gave me a free smoothie coupon for this location so on my way home from surgery I stopped by and picked up "Jetty Punch", which is just a strawberry banana smoothie and I normally love those so I figured I couldn't go wrong. The smoothies here are quite large and full while also being very flavorful. My partner got one too, but his was the "Mocha Madness" and he drank about half his. I don't think he really liked it too much, although I did enjoy mine a lot. My partner would have probably preferred the "chocolate chimp" and if I wasn't so foggy from my recent anesthesia I would have probably told him to get that instead. This place was extremely clean and there was no inside seating, everything had one long single file line (thankfully it was not busy when we went) and it was all neat and tidy. I have called corporate once, emailed corporate twice. I believe this is an independent ownership. I've been a huge fan of this company for years. However, the service (not attitudes, but timing) is terrible. I have sat in the drive through for over 5 minutes on so many occasions with no communication. Not even a "hi I'll be right with you". I want to see this business thrive but it's been over a year now and I disappointed because I want to give my business to this place and they do nothing to improve. Great Smoothies; Horrible Customer Service! I was in line at the ill-designed drive thru, too far away to hear the speaker. When I was able to move forward I was greeted with, " WELL ARE YOU GOING TO ORDER OR JUST SIT THERE?" When I told her I never heard her ask me anything, she proceeded to argue and get even more rude!! I will never go back there. From reading the reviews this seems to be a trend. Good vibes inside the restaurant and nice employees to interact with both face to face and in the drive through. The drive through however is pretty tight and if you dont turn perfectly you might scratch your car. The food is fairly good- I often have a lot of modifications on my order and I've never had an issue with that. The smoothies are excellent. Tropical cafe is probably my favorite place to go to when I don't want to eat but I have to eat something kind of mood. I love the idea of meals in a cup and smoothies are definitely a bonus. I usually have a great experience at Tropical Smoothie but this location disappointed me. I didn't have the best experience with the lady taking my order. Aside from that, they were out of my normal side and drink which was fine so I just ordered the food. I ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla and when I opened it there was no salsa which normally comes with it, no chicken in the quesadilla (the sticker did say chicken and cheese quesadilla) and the quesadilla itself had barley any cheese in it and the cheese that was in there was practically unmelted. Until today, my service has here has been generally a good experience. I got done working out and had stopped in for a protein smoothie. It was decently busy, but the customer service was as if they were stormed with people. I ordered two smoothies, one for my boyfriend and I, watched them be blended, and sat there. There were two people that placed orders after me inside the building and they received theirs before I received one. My wait was over 15 minutes for two smoothies and a majority of that time, the smoothies sat there already blended. By the time I received them the ice had started melting within the smoothie. I really like the products here, but unfortunately I agree with the problem with long wait times. Initially I thought it was just because it was a busy location, but about a month ago I went inside and waited and observed the staff. Employees who were just punched out were sitting at the counter talking to and distracting employees that were working. They were laughing loudly, flirting, and I wanted to tell them to just let him work so he can get the smoothies done. I know I was a teenager once and probably behaved that way myself, but it's discouraging to the customers who are standing there waiting. I was not the only customer that noticed this. Have been here a few times now. If you're looking for a much healthier option to eat out and get something closer to a "fast food" timing on getting your order and out the door, this is a great option. All the ingredients are always fresh, and almost every item on their menu is made from scratch. The team that works here have always been in a good mood and had great attitudes for my 4-5 visits so far. Max was especially helpful and energetic. While most items have the allure of a healthier approach, almost all of the smoothies will get you with their high sugar content. Just order 1/2 - 1/3 of the sugar, and you'll mitigate this from a carb and calorie standpoint, (you can also order Splenda instead, if preferred), most smoothies will have plenty of sweetness and flavor with their core ingredients anyway. This tropical smoothie is the worst one I go to. I love Tropical Smoothie, but this location is not good at all. I occasionally come here and every time they mess up my food or smoothie. They just gave me a smoothie 3/4 of the way full and it was barely blended. Last time I went the quesadilla looked like a 5 year old slapped it together.
