I'm a new customer at Tropical Smoothie Café in Tinley Park Illinois. The restaurant is located on 183rd street near Harlem Avenue. The restaurant is clean, tidy, and well lit. They need to replace the door because it is very difficult to open. I've ordered the HAWAIIAN BBQ ISLAND FLAT, and it cost around 9 dollars. The flavor was decent. This flatbread had a few small pieces of chicken, melted mozzarella & cheddar, BBQ sauce, roasted pineapple salsa & scallions on a toasted flatbread. This Flatbread is extremely small and not worth the money! It came with a tiny cup of Kale apple slaw, which was delicious. I regularly order the Detox Island Green Smoothie. It cost about 7 dollars plus tax, and the cup is huge! It's delicious and I'm a fan. This smoothie includes spinach, kale, mango, pineapple, banana & fresh ginger and it is naturally sweetened. The smoothies are made fresh in front of you, and they have many add ins that you can add into you smoothie for extra health benefits. In conclusion, I love the smoothies and will continue to order them! I will not order the food again. The food items are pricey and not worth the money. read more

Order a detox green smoothie there was more ice/water than fruit. It tasted like ginger water. The jerk chicken wrap was doused with so much jerk sauce that I couldn't eat it. Perhaps this was just a bad server but I can't see myself going back anytime soon. read more

THE OWNER NEEDS TO ENABLE TIPPING ON THE APP FOR THIS LOCATION!!! I come here almost every morning before work, and am always greeted by the wonderful employees here. They are kind, accommodating, and extremely hard-working! That said, I always have to BRING CASH TO TIP, as this seems to be the only Tropical Smoothie store that I know of that does not allow tipping through the app. The employees here work so hard, and they do their jobs so well! Yet, they only receive a fraction of the tips that they would (should) be getting if the owner of this location cared enough to allow this happen through the app. Seriously, there is another TS store about 10 minutes away that has somehow managed to figure it out... Regardless, I look forward to my next visit here. I hope, someday soon, the employees here can get the tips that they so rightfully deserve. read more

Tried Tropical Smoothie Café, specifically the triple berry oats with turbino sugar subbing the Splenda. Got this specifically to help lactation as flax seed and oats are magic to milk production (added ENERGY supplement, because who ever gets sleep with a one year old right?!). Let me tell you, this hit the spot! I'm not one to start getting addicted to caffeine and this fits the bill for my energy boost provider! I ordered the Chicken Bacon Ranch and Açaí Berry blast. The Food was delicious and portioned perfectly. It was at a point where you would get satisfied and not get messy. Also, you know it's perfectly portioned when the bread along with the vegetables, chicken, and bacon inside doesn't break apart. The Açaí Berry blast was great too! This is my favorite place and location but today I had the WORST smoothie. There wasn't any peanut butter in my smoothie so it tasted like bananas and a hint of chocolate. On top of that I can't even drink the smoothie normally without it getting stopped halfway up the straw due to chunks of ice in it to the point where I'm basically eating my smoothie. For the past twelve months I have gone to this location 3-4x/month. Smoothies have been a bright spot at the end of the day and weekends during this challenging period. The past two or more months there is an employee named Maya with a terrible attitude that i can only presume resents being asked to prepare a special order (Swap one fruit for another). As result, in addition to being just plain rude she has prepared orders with too much water, less sweetener, smaller quantities of ice so your smoothie ends up short, tasteless or watery. Tonight was the worst I've had. I am compelled to write this review tonight because after forgiving this behavior for a couple of months $7.45 is too much to continue to pay for a couple ladles of fruit, two scoops of ice, some water that is consistently served with an ugly disposition, poor treatment, and dark spirit. Others seem to enjoy their work and when i compliment their expert preparation. I also always walk in with a tip ready.
