Not sure what's with all the negative reviews, but this is my most frequently visited Tropical Smoothie location, and I have no complaints. We've been back here at least four or five times in the last month and the smoothies are consistently good. We've had the detox, Island Green, cranberry truffle, and other fruity smoothies. The pesto chicken sandwich is not oily and tastes very fresh and mild. The only problem is that nearly all of the smoothies contain huge amount of sugar and I wish they could somehow decrease this and not lose the flavor. The only exception is the detox has no added sugar. You really have to watch out for the calories. I have to remember to ask them if they create customized smoothies from scratch. For a first visit this was pretty good. I travel in this area often and honestly never even knew this Tropical Smoothie was there. The location is just off the corner of General Booth and Nimmo Parkway in a strip. The lot and walks were clear of debris. There is parking in directly front for full size and compact parking in front close to the road. The dining room is large! Probably the largest I've ever seen in a Tropical Smoothie. It features a fireplace which is cool and a large communal table. All the tables and floor was clear of debris. There was a large group of military that was just clearing as we entered. I hit up the men's restroom which is in the rear. I found that it had proper supplies and everything worked. The underside of the toilet seat was dirty. My daughter was the only one eating. Her order a cheese quesadilla and a Jetty Punch smoothie. The young male staff was efficient in taking the order. The app worked flawlessly which provides rewards and pays for the transaction. The order was called out within 5 minutes, or so with the smoothie first. My daughter reported both drink and food good. I would return and a 3.5 seems a better fit. Let me let you guys in on a secret, I'm falling in love all over again with this place. I been away for a little while ( not too long but long enough ). The have smoothies for $2.99 before 9 which in my opinion is a good deal especially when they're normally $4.99 ( so I guess we all can agree $2.00 off is not that bad of a deal ) most of us would agree anyway. So if you're near a tropical smoothie cafe and if it's before 9 am, take advantage of this deal and even if it's later than 9 don't let that stop you from checking this establishment out!. When I'm outnumbered 2-1 on where we get lunch, I'm sometimes forced to get what I don't want. Today, I settled for a Thai chicken wrap and Peaches and Silk smoothie at my least favorite TS location. I offered to pick up after we ordered online. I noticed that they have updated inside. They opened the space to make room for more tables and they even have a small kids booth which was being taken advantage of. It's a nice improvement, but really doesn't make me think any better of this location. The cleanliness of the servers and the quality of the food and smoothies hasn't improved. The young man who helped me at the counter today spent most of the time he was helping guests, scratching at his dreads. Please, God, I pray he doesn't come anywhere near the food prep areas or blenders. Speaking of food, I enjoyed the taste of my smoothie - the part that was actually smoothie. Considering their prices have jumped recently, I was disappointed that mine wasn't full and contained a good 1/2 cup of solid ice chunks. My Thai chicken wrap was tasty, but I had asked for the dressing to be on the side and it was slathered in dressing anyway.. with a side cup to go with it. I can totally agree with the reviews noting the staff; however, the past couple of times I've come in the staff has been completely different (in a good way). My food was good, my smoothie was good, and my service was good. Also, this store has a new look and it's really nice. It makes you wanna eat there and not just grab and go. Nothing was said to me although we made eye contact. I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. Finally, one of the ladies asked another to take my order. I grew up in VB just down the street from this TSC and came into town to visit. I go to TSC frequently where I live now but every time I come to this TSC there is almost always an issue with my order being wrong, forgetting to put part of my order in the bag, etc. Yesterday I ordered my usual island green smoothie and before I took a sip I knew something was wrong because it was a very pale green. Low and behold it tasted mainly like ice, no sweetness, there was no way it had mango or pineapple in it. I get this smoothie all the time at other TSCs and this was definitely not it. When I looked at my quesadilla some of the chicken pieces were discolored and slimey. I would have asked for a different smoothie and shown them the chicken but it took over 20 minutes to get my order and based on my past experiences here it just wasn't worth the wait. They seemed young so not sure if the lack of respect comes from a bad upbringing or if it wasn't taught during new employee training. It's 5:24pm so it also may be the shift. So I see this location only has 3 stars but today's visit has be wondering why. I had THE BEST wrap I've ever had at a trop smoo smoo (that's what I call it) today. As you can see, it wasn't tightly wrapped but it tasted so amazing. I always ask to toast my wraps twice since I like it hot all the way through and today I was not disappointed. I also ordered my usual avocolada with no sweetener because I'm sweet enough and it was so creamy and has no kale chunks like some locations leave. It was pretty busy and the team rocked it! I love TS, I just think they need more people working to speed things up a bit. And they also need a manager that's over 18.The line at this location is always long. This TSC is nice. Service is always quick and people are friendly. Enjoy the open space and plenty of seating. Place is clean and I have never had an issue with an order or the food itself. Trying to call ahead sometimes can be hard to get through but the line moves fast. The options are endless and smoothies and food are always made to order and very delicious. Waited more than 30 minutes for two smoothies and four people that were behind me got their smoothies before me. One of the girls noticed I was still standing, waiting for my smoothies, and asked me what I got. They obviously lost the ticket and forgot about my smoothies. I also noticed that people kept coming in and waited to order and not one crew member greeted them or told the guest they'll be right with them, that is horrible customer service. The crew members were also joking around and gossiping instead of focusing on all the smoothies they had, or else you wouldn't have forgot some smoothies. I love tropical smoothie. One of my favorite places to go. But the one on general both has been one of my worst experiences. I got there at 11 with many people waiting around. I didn't end up leaving till about 11:45 and I only ordered two smoothies. There were three people working and moving at a very slow pace. And I've seen other workers at other locations with only two people getting orders in and out. When I got my smoothie, it tasted like there were thousands of seeds. And when my mother got her smoothie, it looked outright disgusting. It was no where near blended. There were so many chunks. It was way too sweet. It was sweet because they got the order wrong. Customer Service is Horrible. Last night I arrived at 7pm, was not greated by the young man cleaning up by the register, who then walked back to talk to his co-workers. Sometimes, a simple "Hi, ill be right with you" goes a long way. It seems like everytime i go to this location, whoever is working is not happy, or gives any effort in a pleasant exchange.
