I love this chain, but this specific location is not the best. I usually order online with the app that they promote. My orders typically take much longer than the estimated time, and there is either something not right about my food order or they are out of what I order and I have to wait additional time for something different. I have never had the food here before so I can't judge based on that. Yea they do have food. I have tried just about every smoothie on the menu once, if not twice. The smoothies are great, but service can be hit or miss. Or miss and miss. They seem to have a lot of turnover in the staff because I have seen so many new faces working there in the past year. Sadly it can lead to inconsistencies in way your smoothie is made. Sometimes it is better than other times. The last time I was there I wasn't even greeted for a few minutes because they were busy working on others orders. There was only two employees that I saw. From my experience in customer service, it doesn't take much effort just to greet someone as soon as they walk in the door. Also the person who helped me had his pants almost down to his knees. I don't judge people on the way they are dressed but if they are preparing my food and drinks in an establishment I would prefer to not be able to see their underwear. Now the 3 stars cover how good the smoothies are most of the time. Sometimes not as good but still ok. Customer service can be hit or miss. Overall yes I will continue to go there. read more

Service was alright BUT! .. employees were not professional at all. Was not sanitary, no gloves were being used, saw one of the employees scratching her butt and then continued to make my order, no mask, also saw another employee vaping, and saw the manager lift his shirt completely up to wipe his face while exposing his HAIRY chest area. read more

I absolutely love Tropical Smoothie but this is by far the worst one I have ever been to. In fact the worst restaurant I have ever been to. They are incredibly slow. I have waited 20 minutes for a smoothie when there were only 2 other people in the cafe. The employees stand around laughing and looking at each other expecting the other one to complete the order or take it. They have also messed up my order multiple times where I have had to send it back because I clearly told them no strawberries because I am allergic to them but yet they don't listen every time. This cafe is 2 minutes away from me and I am going to start driving out of my to the cafe on Falls or creedmore. This is ridiculous read more

Did an online order, which seems pretty straightforward. The food was ready when I arrived, but no smoothies. They didn't even know which ones we ordered, I had to tell them. I asked about our side items and she pointed to the chips, assuming I was to get them myself. When we got home with our sandwiches, there were tomatoes in the wrap - and the receipt showed no tomatoes. Seems like they have a little bit of work to do here. read more

Of five workers, only one acknowledged my existence while the others chatted and flirted unabashedly...eventually getting around to helping the ONE girl who was actually doing her job. I like Tropical Smoothie Cafe and it's nice that we finally have one in wake forest but the last 4 times I have come here since they opened I have had to wait atleast 20 min for my food. There are too many people working behind the counter not willing to help, they would rather see me stand there for 5 min before someone finally helps me. Then there are dozens of other teenagers hanging out distracting the ones who are supposed to be serving, it's very irritating. Came in today and was not impressed. First the order was wrong on both my salad and my smoothie. Secondly, I counted 11 teenagers working behind the counter. However out of the 11 that were here only 4 were really working. One boy was constantly on his phone and 4 field were gossiping away. 3 other boys came to the guest tables and were playing on their phones. Seemed like total chaos. read more

I just left this tropical smoothie café and my experience was a good one. Yes, the workers were young, but they were polite and friendly to me. I saw five workers, two females and three males, but they were all working. The smoothie itself was pretty good, and the place was bright and clean. I've been to a lot of tropical smoothie's in multiple states that I have lived in and I have to say this one was the largest one that I've been to. i'm glad they opened one on the side of the triangle area. FYI: As a frequent guest twice a week I would suggest a tv screen so patrons can see when their order is up. It gets packed in there sometimes and even if the employees know in their heads how the orders are going the patrons do not. This would be helpful! read more

Corporate lunch ordered on a Tuesday for a Friday pick up. Received confirmation and they charged the credit card. I called to confirm on Friday morning so my boss wouldn't have to wait, good thing because they couldn't find the order. They told me I was wrong. Three employees said they couldn't find it, they wouldn't have accepted the order and I must've ordered it from somewhere else. I was looking at my confirmation email with their address, phone and amount and an order number. I was willing to put the billing issue aside, pay for the order again and just pick up as requested, which would've given them over an hour to prepare 20 lunches. They refused, saying they didn't have the staff - I asked if they had 20 customers walk in would they refuse them - they said no but they would need time to get their orders. I said they had over an hour - they still refused. I called PDQ and they were happy to take my order and get it prepared in the timeframe. The manager called me back to say she had finally found my order - would I still be interested in picking it up. I declined, thanked her for calling me and finding the order but told her her staff is rude, incompetent and unwilling to provide customer service. Still waiting for the refund... read more

LOVE the convenience of this new location! We desperately needed one in wake forest! The Kiwi kwencher has always been my fav smoothie from TSC! It just opened not to long ago, and already very busy with customers. I didn't have a very good experience upon my first visit because my order got lost multiple times and I had to wait almost 30 minutes for 1 smoothie. HOWEVER. I still give this business 5 stars because of the hustle of the team! There was one young man that was clearly a manager that definitely knew how to run a crew(even though they were all extremely young) I give you credit for trying and still accomplishing good customer service even though I had a wait. I went here and I asked for the Baja Chicken, they made it so small and unequal. They forgot a few ingredients. I asked for a water and they charged me for a warm water bottle. I brought to them the concerns and they didnt give me my money back or offer to make a new one. The workers were also very rude looking and gave rude looks. This was my fourth and final visit to this Tropical Smoothie location. This one is far closer than the ones on Creedmoor (always a good experience) and Falls of Neuse (often good). Each time I've been to this location, something is wrong with the order. On one occasion we had to drive back to the store because the wrap was not cooked through, it was still frozen on the inside), the food is very inconsistent. I ordered online. When I got to the store I was told they weren't doing online orders and my money would be returned on Sunday which was 3 days later. So I asked if I could get the smoothie anyway since it was already paid for and she said sure I could order one. I did and she said I would have to pay for it that the online site would refund all online orders. So I paid and waited to get my money back. I never did. I called and spoke to a shift manager and they were looking in to it. I called the franchise owner, Lena, and I didn't even get to explain all of what happened and she hung up on me. it has been 6 weeks and I still have not been refunded. Look, I get it. I worked at a Quizno's once and it was always a letdown when customers would come in 15-20 minutes before closing. But closing time is closing time and it's always a disappointment to have the floors mopped and swept around you while you eat with 12+ minutes to go before closing time. I visited this location once and was so excited that it finally opened. The service was not at all as good as what I have experienced at the Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Raleigh. I only ordered the Sunrise Sunset smoothie. Ordering was not a breeze to say the least.There was no menu near the register or anywhere to be seen that I could look at. I knew I wanted the smoothie but wanted to see what choices there were for add-in's. When I asked what I could add in the girl working the register only gave me about 2-3 options. I am not difficult or hard to please but just wanted to look at the menu with choices of add-in's. She seemed perplexed at my request but finally came up with the idea that she would give me one of their take out menus which did help but was not as convenient and legible as the big menu that they have at the Raleigh location. After ordering, I waited a while for my smoothie. I heard the girl that made it yell out the smoothie that I ordered so I started walking over there to pick up my smoothie and before I could get there another customer had taken my smoothie and left because she was not listening to exactly what was yelled out. Mine had protein in it, and the customer that took my smoothie did not , so I had to wait for them to make another smoothie. Hopefully this store is just still in the new phase and things will improve with time. I will give it another try in a few weeks. read more
