Lauren helped me create an entirely new wardrobe. We started by defining my personal style, which was something I never thought about. It helped me get clear about how I wanted to look and feel. Next we went through my closet to purge all the items that no longer suited me. It was really helpful to have her guidance when deciding what items to keep and donate. She consigned and donated all the items I no longer wanted which was a huge help. And I made some money! Shopping was surprisingly easy and pain free! TL:DR - I loved working with Lauren and now have a closet full of clothes I'm excited to wear! As someone with a short/curvy body, shopping has always been a frustrating experience, usually involving tears. Most of what I was wearing to my job in the finance industry were clothes from college or ill-fitting dresses I had grabbed out of desperation at TJ Maxx. My mom had suggested several times that I look into a personal styling service, but I felt silly seeking out something I thought only celebrities or really wealthy business execs did. Finally, my mom ignored my protestations and gifted me Lauren's "Curated Closet" package as a Christmas/birthday present. This turned out to be the best present I have ever received. After an initial phone consultation in which I explained how my wardrobe wasn't serving me and what it would take to make it functional, Lauren schlepped up to Brooklyn to go through my closet. I felt really anxious about this (I knew my clothes were far from stylish!), but Lauren's kind presence set me right at ease, and my self-consciousness quickly disappeared. Lauren guided me through which pieces from my closet I should keep and which it was time to part with. She then boxed up and handled donating all of my discarded clothes. Next, I met Lauren at King of Prussia Mall where she had already filled several stores' dressing rooms with clothes for me to try on. You guys. This was a life changing shopping trip. No hours spent wandering through stores unsure of what style/size to pick up! Lauren found me a ton of basic staples as well as some fun statement pieces. Somehow she managed to also keep me below budget. A week or so later, Lauren came back up to Brooklyn. We went through every piece of clothing in my closet (old and new) and discussed all the different ways I could style them. She took pictures of all of these looks and sent me my very own "look book." This is perfect to scroll through in bed at night so I can decide what to wear the next day. Since working with Lauren, getting dressed takes less time, I feel comfortable experimenting with different styles, I receive compliments on my outfits, and I know I have something to wear for any occasion. Perhaps the most unexpected benefit of working with Lauren is that I feel more confident shopping on my own. Although I may need new clothes in a few years, that confidence will last me forever. I can't say enough about how amazing Trousseau Style is! I met Lauren at a networking function where I heard about her professional styling service. After a long time of feeling like I still looked like a college student, I finally worked up my courage and as my 34th birthday approached, I decided to take the plunge and email Lauren. She explained how the process would work to me and still on my high, I happily obliged to the very reasonable consulting fee. The night before our first session, I freaked out and was very close to canceling. I was so fearful of the cost implications and the idea that I'd been doing everything wrong for years! Fortunately, I didn't back out and after just seconds into our first meeting, I felt completely at ease. All of my concerns were immediately lifted after chatting with Lauren for only a few minutes. We talked about my wardrobe from a personal and professional perspective and how things would align. She asked me questions about my vision for my wardrobe, style icons (which I didn't even know I had until I talked to her) and how I wanted to feel when I stepped out of the house each day. I had never thought about these things until she asked these questions, but now before I buy a piece (even a $12 pair of flats from Target), I ask myself if it will align with my goals. The closet clean out was so refreshing. I had been holding onto so many things that didn't make me feel good and hadn't been worn in years. The shopping session was even better! Then, our final styling session took the cake! We styled all of my new and old pieces together and separately so I could plan some go to outfits for mornings when I didn't have the time or energy to figure it out. She taught me simple tricks from tucking my shirt to wearing a scarf, or changing up my hair which make me look "put together" even when I am not feeling my best! I worked with Trousseau Style on a closet clean out this summer. I had recently started a new business and was struggling with what to wear day to day. Lauren is like your stylist BFF who keeps the process fun and friendly while still giving it to you straight. I shared a few looks I loved on pinterest, and she helped me narrow down my look. Then we went through my closet (I probably kept only half my clothes... but it was time) and she helped me make piles for Goodwill, Greene St consignment shop, and Plato's Closet. So helpful!! I loved working with Lauren at Trousseau. I'd been neglecting my wardrobe for a few years after having my kids, and she helped me go through my closet and purge the outdated/poorly fitting, replacing them with clothes that fit my style so much better. I wanted to feel more polished and she was great providing guidance on what actually fit and would be easy to put together. At first, I wasn't interested in doing the wardrobe edit (I thought I could go through everything in my closet myself), but I'm so glad I did. It was the most helpful part of the process because it gave me a clean slate to see what I really had to work with.
