There was another review stating about how this "company is all about money" and I could not agree more. They barely pay their nurses the amount each one deserves as I'm sure the office personnel lives very well off instead. If you think they have customer service.... sorry to inform you, they don't. If you get to speak with anyone from the office, all you get is attitude. basically, it's their way or you are pretty much left with no other option. Unfortunately, There isn't honesty or integrity from the agency and if you don't have that from the office, most of the time you receive this from the nurses too. And it's funny to say that most nurses say the office made them lie. Example: one nurse was told to say she had been in contact with someone that had COVID (now remember how this is not even something anyone should joke about especially dealing with the elder) and only lied because she has to work another case. Can you imagine how we as the family felt knowing that our loved one could had been with a nurse who had been in contact with someone with Covid?! Not only our loved one but us ourselves had to all be tested just to find out the office and the nurse had lied to us!! Most nurses (definitely not all) are hard-working people and willing to adapt to the environment while others don't last a day with their new case. Each family is considered a "case". Again most nurses, want to work longer days or OT but this agency sends another nurse to a case they are not familiar with and without training. The agency's logical is completely a joke! Should a nurse willing to work OT, it makes more sense to send the same nurse to the same case they normally work rather then someone who can't be trained. The frustration level dealing with this agency has been less than professional. To the point where they don't even pick up your call (I'm sure they have caller ID) but even so they can't even return your call. Listen, I could keep going and reveal more on how this agency works however, the advice I give to those looking for someone to take care of your love one is to keep looking for another agency. At this point, I have had so much knowledge of what NOT to do that I could one day open up my own agency because the lack of EVERYTHING with this one is a total joke.

I felt like they were argumentative and abrasive in their meeting with me, and their reasons for wanting to move him were alarming and scary. I wish I had known at the time that as a family member you have the right to see the staff's written reports about your loved one, you don't have to take management's word for it. In my case, I installed a video camera in my dad's room which proved to me that their assessments of him were not accurate. They added unnecessary additional stress and worry to what is already an incredibly hard thing to go through, and they made me fearful because I could no longer trust them. I removed my dad from Brightview's care as quickly as I could and he is now living in a new community.

(One caregiver found my moms leg swollen and it was discovered she had a blod clot.) Had it not been for her looking out and paying attention to the leg change this could have turned into a stroke. Some examples of my experiences with them in the 8 days that we used them: We called the nurse there and was advised to take my husband to ER on a Sunday night. She advised us to cancel out aide the next day because my husband might be admitted. It turned out that the ER visit was not necessary so we returned home around 4:30am. I called their 24-hour hotline and was told by Patrick that he would contact the scheduler at 7:30am to see if we can get our aide back. When I finally got up in the morning after an exhausting night, I called back and found that Patrick didn't contact the scheduler at all. He only did it after I called and told me that the earliest time that an aide could come was 2:30pm. My husband's diaper/sheet was saturated with urine in the morning and I am not strong enough to change him. I had to call another agency to get help. They sent someone over in 40-minutes and helped me clean up my husband. That was an extremely unpleasant and stressful experience. We talked to Brightstar and one of the aides, hoping to have her sign up for more shifts with us. They insisted that it can't be done, but the aide was puzzled because she clearly had the availability. One aide was sleeping on the job, another one had many issues and I told them that I'd rather take care of my husband myself if she was the only one available. I emailed a few people at Brightstar (including the scheduler) about changing the hours from 12-hour per day to two 4-hour shifts. A few days later, I got the new schedule, it still showed 12-hour per day. They claimed that it's hard to get the same aides for the fixed shifts because they all work for different agencies. We had a revolving door of caregivers the first week. The new agency found fixed aides for us in less than 2 days and promised that they'll be the same for the remainder of the time that we still use them (unless any of them are sick or have emergencies - which is reasonable). It CAN be done! My husband (who is in hospice) is very happy with the new aides and I am relieved that I no longer have the headaches dealing with the issues associated with Brightstar.

I know this because we had cameras set up which we notified the agency of. We had a few caregivers who were lovely, but often time we had to ask for substitutions. When my Mother passed they didn't even have the decency to reach out to us. Even when I text one of my contacts with The Key to notify them of this I still never heard a single word. It is clear that they are a business and care more about making money then the care they provide. Very disappointed.

The final straw came when an aide failed to arrive for her all day shift this past Wednesday. Then, the same evening, the aide arrived more than an hour later. We were paying them about $10,000 a month for aide services. Imagine the "care" one would get from them if we were a smaller client.
