About 10 minutes into the pastor's message I felt a warm feeling of home and it has been our church for over three years at the time of this post. The people are welcoming, the message is what we need to hear, and the church really cares about our family. We have been stationed several places and this is absolutely our favorite church.

My dear wife announced that this is our Saturday activity. Lots of free parking, and visited during Christmas tour; our tour guide was a lovely lady from Centerville, who decorated the huge 60 feet tall altar. Loved the tour, and loved this church. This is the church my mom and aunts went to as kids with my German grandparents. They attended the…read moreelementary school as well. This is also where my aunt and one of my cousins got married, and where my second cousin was baptized. My family has some history here. Now, the church is in a not-so-nice neighborhood. There aren't as many parishoners, but it still fills up at Christmas time. They put up beautiful decorations (my mom and aunt included in "they") and a huge antique nativity. This past year, twin opera singers were doing the music...it was beautiful. The community center (where the school used to be...the school is no more) is in pretty good shape. However, if you are looking for a church to go to... The priest is from Africa. I had no idea what he was saying for 90% of the Christmas mass. He is extremely hard to understand. The church itself is beautiful. There are paintings on the ceilings and walls, the altar is amazing. It's very old school. It's very traditional looking inside, ornate, with a huge organ in the choir loft. If I remember right, they have pot luck carry-ins and uh...traditional Catholic meals...like sausage and fish fries. Amazing stained-glass windows too.
