Extremely minimalist hotel - no coffee maker, microwave, or even closet in the rooms. I would have to go to lobby every time I needed hot water, and unfortunately the water in the Hot Water carafe was never warm. Each time, I would ask the front desk staff member if they could fill me a cup of hot water from the back. Overall, the rooms could have been cleaner, especially the bathroom, but it was nothing that I felt needed to be reported to the staff. The air conditioning unit was also loud, so I found myself turning it off at night, leading to an unwanted warm room in the morning. read more

Thought I'd try Tru. Won't be back. Waited ignored for 10 minutes while the desk clerk chatted up the people in front of me. The room was small and hardly any place was large enough for luggage. The worst part was the trash in the trash can from a previous guest. Unforgivable. read more

Was treated horribly by the manager as a Hilton diamond member I'll never be back the staff told me I couldn't re enter the room with all my belongings because I declined a charge that included a deposit when I've never paid a deposit as a Hilton diamond member. Minimalist. Does The Job. Great hotel for late night check-ins. Fantastic as a quick one night stay. When 11pm rolls around, all you need is to hit that sack & quickly. Especially when you are on a cross country trip! Front Desk staff is SUPER QUICK to check you in and SUPER HELPFUL. Put a smile on my face after a long day of driving. No drawers. So don't unpack. No point. Just take a shower in the AM & be on your way. IT FEELS VERY SAFE HERE. Love the well lit parking lot. HUGE TV's. With great movie channels like HBO. No extra fees. Ice Maker on 1st Floor. This was my first stay at a Tru. I am not sure if I fit the target demographic, but it was a very nice stay...albeit for only 1 night. This, I would describe it as, is "chic minimalism". The amenities are nice but in a no-frillls kind of way. No carpeted floors in the room, not a ton of "walking around" space (not that it's cramped) and more "industrial" fixtures. I have stayed in many Hilton brands and this one lives up to their standards cleanliness, comfort and customer centered sercice. But, I suppose I wasn't expecting this kind of room. I would probably stay at a Tru again, but if I had my druthers, I might find a little more Hilton-esque property. read more

The hotel is minimalist at best. The hotel is nice but honestly could be cleaner. Someone spilt coffee or something on the windowsill and it wasn't cleaned before us. The shower was clean. The floor felt Sandy but I guess aren't most hotel floors dirty? I did get a good night sleep. I had breakfast and coffee (they like strong coffee at hiltons). The bed was comfy. The room was a dusty and the sink drain was backing up (slow to drain). They need some maintenance. For $200 a night, it was high. I would think it should be closer to $150. For the $200, they should have very clean rooms that are maintained. That's still pushing it for the minimalist style you get. read more

Very clean hotel with friendly staff. The hotel is quiet and small. This is not the place for a long term stay but perfect for a short stay. CONS: My main qualms are that the rooms don't have a microwave and I couldn't use my FireTV on the TV in the room. Also, you have to go to the lobby to make some tea/coffee and the market items are extremely expensive. It costs $4 for a Luna protein bar. PROS: Quality hygiene products provided. Newer hotel with little wear. Digital check in and out. Complimentary flavored syrups for drinks. Bright lights in room and bathroom. Free plastic utensils and paper plates in market area 24/7. The entire hotel (rooms, fitness center) is small and minimal yet very functional. There is no pool or laundry on-site. Breakfast is okay, different, but not exceptional. I do not frequently stay in hotels but for the Price of $220 for a single room I expected much more. This is a one start hotel with a 4 star name. The only thing I enjoyed was the young lady who was very personable at the front ! The Room : 2/10 The room is a decent size but there are no amenities in your room outside of the television and the free shampoo. The complimentary wifi is extremely slow if you stay on the third floor so you will need to upgrade for a FEE. On top of multiple places in the room being dirty it was also a shame that the black out curtain was broken. Noise levels: 4:10 , for the earlier part of the days the hotel is quiet but around 9:30 it gets crunk ! You will here everything beside you and above you Parking : 6/10 the parking is compact fairly easily to navigate and they do have a couple of handicap spots. Good : when I arrived at 4:00pm the complimentary coffee was all cold so I did not bother to go to the breakfast. If this is a last minute choice like mine I highly encourage you to choose elsewhere. read more

Very comfortable, clean property. Free parking, lots of space, entertainment, functionality in the lobby. Free breakfast. Free coffee/hot tea 24/7. Friendly staff. Beds were very comfortable. I liked the effort of the room designs - felt very open and roomy. Some noise from either the hallway or other rooms (stomping, maybe because the floors have no carpet). The towels and washcloths felt very cheap, which was surprising considering this property is more expensive than others in the area. The washcloths had a dirty tinge to them and were rough. I didn't feel like I got the value I paid, mainly because of the area. It was a bit more expensive than it should have been. But having had a terrible hotel experience a few days before at another hotel, I was just happy to get a wonderful night's sleep at TRU. read more

Another hotel with tough-ass beds. lol I just left one place with extremely firm beds, only to come to this place with tough firm beds. I wish Hilton would have an option for those who don't need firm beds. This place was clean and.... modern. Compared to Hampton Inn, where I typically stay so I can get breakfast for my family, this place has the best. They had grits and bacon. The waffle iron was to make like waffle boats, which is pretty cool. So you can dip them in sauces or you can make little boats out of them and put yogurt or different sauces. They had nutella, bacon jam, pepper jelly, apple pie "syrup", etc. There was crushed pineapple for the yogurt maybe. They even had crushed oreos. For what? I don't know. I had some eggs (which I typically don't eat cause they taste fake), but I put some salsa verde and cheese on it, and it tasted okay. The bacon is thin, but at least it's there. They had games and TV's in the lobby. Noise-canceling booths, which is good for when you're trying to make a call and there are loud people around in the lobby. This location is pretty close to Walmart and other shops. I'd stay here for a night or two. Other than the beds, which is typical of hotels, you can't get too much better than this. read more

Just want to compliment the staff! The Lady at the front desk this morning was so professional and top notch! I forgot my key and went to the desk for a duplicate. She politely asked for ID (thank you for keeping all rooms secure) and I politely left to get it. When I came back with it, there was a line. But she knew i'd be back and had prepared the key in advance. So when she saw me in line, she multi tasked like a beast: waved me over, validated my Id, handed me my key, said thank you, continued to process the other patrons check-in and kept everyone smiling. This is my 2nd time staying in a Tru by Hilton (the first horrible experience was in Vegas). The McDonough location redeemed my Vegas experience. Customer service was excellent except for at check-in the representative did not recognize my Diamond status until I asked for water. At that point is when she thanked me for being a Diamond member. Outside of that customer service was excellent our entire 3 day stay. The room: very clean and modern. The only thing we did not like is that it is extremely minimalist, meaning that there are no drawers, dressers, and a very small "closet" (a bar above the small fridge to hang clothes). For one person this may not be an issue, but for 2 people for 3 days, clothes are everywhere unless you keep everything, except for what you hang, in your suitcase. So essentially all your undergarments are out on display for housekeeping unless you keep them in your suitcase. Outside of the lack of drawers, this location is great. Nice gym and breakfast options. read more

There are 2 hotels on this property. One is the Hilton TRU, The other is a Hampton in by Hilton. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn, but unable to find it, or add it, on Yelp. The Hampton Inn is clean. The Lobby area is very nice. The staff is very friendly. The building is not new. It is not perfect. It is, however, very well maintained. Compared to other Hampton Inns, in other areas of the country, it is a bit pricey. Compared to other places in the Atlanta area - it's comparable. I did not ask for AAAor other discounts. Discounts are probably an option. I arrived in the middle of the night - in the rain. It was easy to find, but the driveway off the road could be better illuminated. The property is very well lit, once you get on the driveway. The parking lot on the properties are not large, not large enough for a large truck, coach, or RV. If you are driving one, there may be an area to park them nearby, you should call beforehand to verify, and to see if it is close enough for you to walk. There are truck stops at this and nearby exits; also plenty of shops and eateries. I like this Hampton Inn. It is comparable to other Hampton Inns. read more

Second time staying at a Tru branded hotel. Place is hip but lacking function. Let's start with checking in. Staff was pleasant but when we got to the room we noticed the toilet seat up and the sheets didn't look fresh (but the bed was made). We pulled back the sheets to find numerous hairs and old sheets from previous guest. We went downstairs and they were able to swap our room, but still gross nonetheless. Room doesn't have a microwave, dresser or wardrobe. No real place to put your clothes. Place would be fine for a couple of days, but not longer. Room is smaller than most hotels with a little table instead of a desk. Would be okay if you aren't trying to work. TV is huge. Tip pick a room with a lower room number to be further away from the Interstate. Amenities are great pool table in the lobby and open environment. Breakfast was also above average. read more

We stayed here the week of Christmas visiting family. This place is very clean and has very friendly staff. Pros: pool table and board games down stairs for the whole family to enjoy. 24/7 snack access (pricey but worth it if you need it), all day fresh coffee access, plenty of seating downstairs in play area. Small refrigerator in rooms. Cons: BRING EAR PLUGS! The traffic you hear at night is TERRIBLE! I didn't go to sleep until after 4 the first night even after downloading 3 fan apps on my phone ear plugs worked wonders the next 2 nights and the walls are very thin. I heard the neighbors tv all day and night on one side and a couple fussing on the other side. The Hampton Inn 50 feet behind it we've stayed in 10 times and NEVER hear traffic or the neighbors. But the staff said they are suppose to fix the traffic problem this month. Fingers crossed. No onsite laundry room , no microwave in rooms but one available 24/7 downstairs. Overall it was very nice. I decided to stay here; it's a Hilton property that I haven't been to. Walking in, it's clean, bright, airy and the staff was great. The rooms, modern and funky; in a good way. It was small but it's not like I'm moving in long term. The toiletries were in tubes; took me a second to figure it out. Obviously the directions telling you to "squeeze the tube" weren't enough for me. Slow on the uptake I guess. There wasn't a desk in the room; since I was traveling for work kind of missed that. There was a "hospital" like table you could use but it wasn't the same. I'm guessing the concept was to encourage you to use the communal space downstairs. There is plenty of seating and outlets in the lobby, pool table and TV's. For me, I can't work that way; too many distractions. A final plus, you can buy beer and wine there. There is also a great Mexican Restaurant just around the corner; try the Steak Fajita Nachos. read more

It appears Tru Hilton values money over their customers safety. Due to many extended traffic delays, accidents, etc. on the road beyond our control we were unable to reach the Tru by Hilton in McDonough, Ga without driving 14+ hours. We felt that it would be best for us to stay the night at the Tru by Hilton in Macon. The General Manager of the Tru by Hilton in McDonough refused to change our reservation without charging the entire rate for the room. Reaching out to the General Manager by email only resulted in a flippant response from her. There seems to be little or no benefit to being a loyal Hilton Rewards member or to even make reservations at all. As a long time Hilton customer that travels to and from Florida to Tennessee several times a year I will be choosing another hotel chain for my future trips from now on. I've always recommended Tru by Hilton to many of my friends, family and to anyone asking for a recommendation but I will definitely make them aware that Hilton values money over their safety EDIT: Corporate Hilton Reservations and Customer Care issued a refund after the hotel General Manager refused to help us and wished us 'luck' in dealing with the Corporate office. If we were to stay at a Tru by Hilton again we would never stay at the McDonough location read more

Convenient and comfortable with new tech to satisfy everyone. They have 4 Tesla charging stations which look to be in good working order. Bedding was very soft. While it's very close to the interstate the noise level was minimal. The standard room is an efficient size, but has everything you'd need. USB plugs, large flat panel TV, and blackout blinds. Me and my sister stayed her while visiting Atlanta and was very pleased with our room and the service. We really wished there was a pool But I guess it was my fault as I assumed they would have one. The place is fairly new, clean and well kept. I love that the floors in the room were tiled because I hate to walk on carpet in motel rooms. The continental breakfast was Okay. Staff was friendly. But the room wasn't as clean as expected for a Hilton property. Bed wasn't properly made up and there were some stains on the sheets and pillow cases. This new hotel opened June 15th, 2017, and is one of the first in a new brand for Hilton, Tru. Walking in it felt exactly like Aloft from Starwood hotels with the circular check in station surrounded by snacks for purchase and even had a pool table/gaming are in lobby. This hotel sucked. I'm a travel nurse and have to stay here for 10 days. I'm currently 7 days into my 10 day stay and i cannot wait to leave. The beds are hard and uncomfortable, the pillows are awful. This is the smallest hotel room that I've ever seen in my life. There is no microwave in the room so you have to go to the lobby to microwave your leftovers. 2/10 would not recommend!! We were super impressed by this hotel. We arrived at 2:00 am and the check-in person was so friendly and got us in a room quickly. The lobby was fresh and clean with games, lounging areas, and coffee. Our room was great! No carpet at all!! Very clean and comfortable. Great soap and shampoo. The management and staff was very friendly the hotel is way different from the typical Hilton. I am calling it the tech hotel for sure straight lines a huge tv in the room and all the cable channels was available they had this cool lobby area with a swing chair I enjoyed plenary of space to work and relax a pook table to the vibe as well a game area did I mention the staff was nice and friendly had one issue it was taken care immediately and the breakfast bar was a life saver just hope for oatmeal next time see ya next month unless the one in Lawrenceville is open upon my next two visits thank you read more

People were very very nice but the hotel has some growing to do. Our room was so humid and loud we could not sleep. The ac did not work properly. The automatic doors literally shut closed only my five year old daughter , something is wrong with the sensors. Their system wasn't working when we checked in and we didn't get any keys.
