In hindsight, expecting a hotel to be a place of rest across from a casino is never a good idea. Although the hotel room, itself and the staff we encountered were super helpful and friendly(shout out to both DeMarchi and Tammy), the other guests who were running through the halls; talking loudly and at times yelling; and the constant knocking on hotel doors, was the opposite of "quiet time". I understand now why a sign outside the elevator on our floor stated the time period designated as "quiet time". Next time we need a hotel stay I. 2.5*, but rounding up because I didn't actually bring up all the concerns while there to see how they could help. First, we stayed here because Arkansas was on the bucket list to visit and we were on a road trip. Thus, we couldn't stay in Memphis and we had Hilton points to use up by a certain time. Otherwise, it's fine for 1 night, but don't stay 4 nights like we did. Second, here's a list of the good, bad, and ugly... Good: Pooling heated, towels in the room, fairly empty so easy to use. They have a gym too, with everything working. Breakfast was on par for the brand, and I liked the yogurt machine. Their refillable water station was also convenient. Bad: Digital key for room stopped working after day 1 and they had no idea how to fix it. Physical key also stopped working after day 2 and we had to go reset them. Annoying and inconvient. They ran out of coffee one day, fine since I don't drink it, but annoying for some. Their tea selections were all caffeine, nothing for bedtime. They ran out of lids one day too, which is dangerous when trying to bring a hot beverage to your room. If you forget anything, you'll have to pay for it, so pack your toothpaste! Finally, their location on the highway is fine for going to Memphis, but super inconvient for getting back to the hotel or trying to visit the casino across the street since the service road is one way. Not their fault, but just FYI. The Ugly: Their house cleaning was non-existent. Free sticker on the bathroom mirror said every other day. Fine by me. Except they didn't come. So we called to ask and then had to go down ourselves to get towels that second night. Again on day 3, no one came. And again on day 4, no one came. The trash got a little icky and a giant pile of towels stacked up. Beds were not made. But that was still not the worst thing. The worst was the mold in the shower, around the fire sprinkler (maybe dirty?), and the ac unit. Which we had to run. So, if you really need a cheaper place with free parking (assuming they aren't too busy, it's a small lot) and don't need to eat when you stop (nothing much nearby) and you are just staying one night, it might be ok. But I was very disappointed in the hotel and it has tainted the brand for me. Gold status for Hilton doesn't matter if they don't make sure the service is decent and the rooms are good. read more

It's a kind of a motel where you can drive your car up to your door the old-fashioned kind that I just love. It was a stormy, late night but the staff came on within a minute and I was in my room within 10 minutes. My cat was allowed. The room was huge and had a sitting room the bedroom, big bathroom, vanity area, and a kitchen. It was great and reasonably priced and very safe I highly recommend it. read more

Stopped here for a night on the way to Memphis and Nashville. Pretty much not much around except a casino across the street, some gas stations, and a couple of other hotels. Room was clean and nice. Lady working the front was also really nice and friendly. They have an area downstairs where you can relax with some couches, chairs and tables, and a TV, pool table, and a giant connect four. Complimentary breakfast was pretty good. Eggs, ham, carbs, juices, cereal, etc. If you need a place to lay your head for a night, can't go wrong here. read more

I've now stayed here twice - just over a year apart. The experience is pretty consistently okay. These rooms are designed with simplicity in mind, packing a lot into a small space. The trouble comes in when the rooms, where every corner is used, are not kept clean and in good repair. This most recent time, there were issues with the shower and this eye-level cobweb next to the bed. Basic stuff. Be prepared for road noise all night from the interstate and the lights of the casino across the street. Staff are friendly, rooms are thoughtful without being overwrought. I've never encountered anyone here at all in the parking lot, so I'm not sure about the claims of rough neighborhood. read more

Clean, maybe antiseptic clean. Stiff, not warm comfort at all. The room felt like it was designed by Ikea and built with Legos. I know what Hilton is going after. They're trying to attract Millinneals by offering lower rates and simple unpretentious accommodations. They've succeeded in that respect. Their targeted market will feel right at home, as if they were back at college in their dorm room. Only there's no frat party down the hall. My room felt like a classroom with beds, which would be appropriate for me as I slept through most of my classes. There is, however, a happnin spot downstairs in the lobby where you can lounge, pick up a game of Foosball, or maybe the staff will let you use the ping pong table for a few rounds of beer pong. This place wasn't for me. Don't get me wrong, I was into all that back in the day, but I have since grown up. Gone is the need, or the want, to shack at a youth hostel. I carry my clothes in a suitcase now. The backpack served its purpose and now rests on a shelf in the garage, along with the hacky sack and beer bong. I distance myself from those days by seeking more upscale accommodations. I can afford it now. Fortunately, there were enough brain cells left for me to earn a decent wage and not have to live on a diet of pop tarts and top ramen. Or seek refuge from the night in a hospital ward. If the price for the room is beckoning you, I encourage you to give it a spin. After your stay, you may find yourself a bit more deaf when the call comes to save a buck. Quick Tip: This Tru sits across Interstate 40 from the Southland Casino. It's my recommendation that you forego that outing. The slots are tighter than your grip on reality. For if you don't heed this warning, the reality is that you may be forced to stay at Tru's for the remainder of your trip. read more

We have been on an extended road trip where some hotels have met expectations and some definitely did NOT match the description on the website. I'm happy to report that this hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room was clean, the bathroom was amazing and they had a convenient dog walking area behind the hotel complete with bags and trash cans. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because the breakfast was ok and a few areas weren't working (one of the coffee pots, the yogurt station). Also it was pouring rain when we were leaving and there is no awning or covering by the front door so we got pretty wet packing up our belongings. This is our first experience with a Tru by Hilton hotel and we will definitely be back. read more

We did remote checkin and got the digital key. The room was spacious and nice. But they had a terribly stained chair, the room was missing a tv remote. The hair dryer was extremely dirty to even hold in your hands. How can a reputed hotel such bad housekeeping. The rooms walls were paper thin. We had neighbors blasting the volume on their television at midnight and had to call the front desk about it. They have a nice play area in the lobby for littles . The breakfast was decent. I had a good stay. Loved the spacious room and the design, although masculine. This hotel seems to be designed by geek millennials for millennials. It's perfect for traveling remote workers. The rolling desk and chair can be moved anywhere. Lots of parking, right across the street from a casino. Location is convenient to freeways and downtown Memphis. Front desk was inviting and helpful when needed. I also loved the full size Not Soap brand lotion, hand soap and shower gel. The scents are so fresh and so clean clean! My only issue during my visit was the noise from the freeway, difficulty connecting to internet, and I was provided ZERO face towels. Also, there is no microwave in any of the rooms. Although, there is a community microwave in the cafeteria, this is not ideal for people with food allergies, especially shellfish and peanuts. I would still stay in this hotel again, knowing what I know now and being prepared. Tip: If you're a light sleeper, get a odd number room or room not facing the freeway. read more

Location was very close to downtown Memphis and the Casino.Hotel itself was very clean and smelled clean, i checked in around 7pm and had no issues finding parking and it was already very quiet in main areas, if you bring your dog you can walk them from the side of the building all the way around the back to the other side which i liked as well. I gave 3-stars because although the level of cleanliness was okay for me and my room i stayed in, i feel like i absolutely got no sleep. I'm not sure if they assigned every one to the same hall but all i heard all night and morning was doors to rooms opening and closing, i could hear the guy in the room next to me coughing, i feel like i woke up every hour because of course my dog was up and alert with every noise. My dog hardly makes a peep but the stay here he kept pacing and growling cus the noise coming from the halls all night (again it was mainly the doors). To top off my restless night of sleep the alarm in my room decides to go off at 6am, not sure if someone set that from the stay before or if the hotel does it. After that i was basically up for the day even after trying to stay in bed a bit longer because every room seemed to be getting up and leaving for the day (more slammed doors). I booked this place being that it had late check out but i ended up leaving feeling tired and like i didn't sleep all night. Do not book here if you're a light sleeper or bring ear plugs. Check in was fast like it always is @ Hilton's and the room was clean and nice and cold & the shower had decent pressure. The bed was plush but not too soft so that was decent. Where this stay went to hell was getting trapped in the elevator for 15 dang minutes. The call button wasn't working and after about 10 minutes I was able to pry the door open about 6 inches but I discovered it was between floors. Naturally @ this point I was literally soaked in sweat and extremely frustrated. Out of nowhere it did start moving and was able to get out on the first floor to people standing there saying we could hear u but couldn't do anything. Naturally u know where I went & that's straight to the front desk saying wth is with your elevator and all she would say is yes we know it's having issues & my response was ok so why the crap don't u block it so your customers don't get stuck in it like I just did. She just gave me the deer in headlight look. I'm being very generous with a 3-star rating. First, the price on the website was $107/night. When we booked it, the price was $182/night! Wow! How much taxes does west Memphis charge in taxes? Obviously not that much! Feels like a little deceptive advertising going on! When we get to the room, sure, it's clean enough for our comfort but some of the lights don't work and there's exposed wiring... expected far more for $182/night!!! Brand new hotel in Arkansas, on the border of Memphis, Tennessee, just a few miles from the Mississippi River. Bright, airy lobby, friendly reception, gorgeous gym, serene indoor pool with interior and exterior access; for a small hotel, it's teeming with amenities. The rooms are super clean and even have mini fridges! Bathrooms are spotless and spacious. The beds are a bit bouncy, but very comfortable. First visit here, but I'm a Tru Hilton fan. I recommend staying here, especially if you're driving through town. Initially, I was hesitant to stay here. The exit from HWY 40 is tricky and the side roads are horrible. I didn't see any convenient places to eat around the are, though it was in the evening and I was focused on checking in and getting some rest. My room was warm upon entering, which was nice touch. Bathroom was clean and there was a lot of space for 1 guest. Keyless entry via phone app was convenient and preferred. Check in and out via app was also very convenient. PS- I'm not a fan of apps, but the Hilton one is on my top 10 for convenience and user friendliness. I suggest you download it because it helped me with driving directions, keyless entry, check in/out, and picking my room. Breakfast snacks and coffee in the morning are greatly appreciated. read more

I checked in first of July 21 the room 309 was nice/clean but the door handle was loose (security). The bathroom one of two recess lights were out, one of two of the vanity mirror lights were going out it was a little dark at the mirror, and low water pressure at the shower. We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly. The hotel was very clean and our room and bed were comfortable. The breakfast was standard but good. We really liked the water bottle filler and ice machine on the main level and filled our bottles each day before going out. It's easy to get to from the west, a little bit weird coming from the east but GPS takes you directly there. We would ask for a room on the backside next time VS interstate side. I don't typically take time to leave negative ratings, but I think people need to understand what they are getting at this location. The staff is VERY friendly and helpful; however, the cleanliness and safety is questionable. The bathroom was filthy and the toilet seat was up when I entered my room. The base of the toilet was covered in urine. When I mentioned the cleanliness to the front staff I was told they've had issues with the house keepers. Idiots at the front desk charged me twice even AFTER I explained to them that when I book through the app I am charged the room rate and incidental so if they run my credit card separate it will be charged a second time but the front desk gal thinks she knows *everything* and insisted. Well guess what - I got charged twice as I suspected and now I have to wait until their manager is available to assist. Also, I'm a diamond member with this hotel chain and have never been treated so poorly. Diamond member is nothing special although it does mean I exclusively stay with this Hilton group but this ONE hotel is certainly giving them a bad name. The woman working the front desk was extremely accommodating, and walked me to multiple rooms trying to find one that wasn't absolutely saturated in toxic air freshener. Unfortunately, all were. I have been traveling all day with two babies and can't bear to keep driving but this is just unacceptable. Whatever person decided poisoning the air of this entire hotel should be fired and never allowed to "clean" anything ever again. The front desk staff are super nice and made me feel welcome. I enjoy the lobby area. The lobby area is pretty chilled and relaxing. Now let's get to the nitty gritty. My room was okay. Upon entering the room for the first time I noticed a sticky spot in the middle of the floor in the room not far from the AC. I'm not sure what it was, but this is why I always wear slides or sandals in hotels. I could hear the sticky sound under my slides. The restroom was okay, it looked a little outdated. My room was literally not far from the ice machine and I hated it. I was next door neighbors to a bunch of loud, young, ghetto, females. I could hear them yelling, talking loud, cursing, etc. I was not happy about that! I guess it's hard to get a nice and quiet room these days, especially when you drove way from Texas. Maybe I wasn't so lucky idk but that was a downer for me. The walls are very thin and in my room, I shared a door that doesn't open with my loud neighbors. I'm sure every room is probably set up that way. Another thing I didn't like is that there are no microwaves. So much for wanting to eat leftovers, unless you don't mind it being cold. The parking is tight, especially at nights and weekends. It is easy to pass this hotel if you are not used to the area, so be sure to slow down when you are close to it. I think next time I go to Arkansas, I will stay somewhere else. The cons outweighed the pros for me. I also have yet to see the deposit back on my account smh. I confirmed with the hotel that there were no issues with my room once I left. But yet I don't see my deposit. This is why I hate putting a card on file. Hotels probably feel like people would jack them, but yet hotels also jack people as well. Oh and during the night if you go outside, it does smell like sewage. Not much parking - especially late at night. Service was poor from the start. The room looked and felt cheap and as if it hadn't been cleaned well. The walls were paper thin and we were awakened by loud music and talking from the room directly next to us. We could also hear a lot of noise from the hallway. My husband and son stayed here while he played in a golf tournament. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect! When they arrived home my son realized he left his laptop and wallet. So he called the hotel manager and she told him they were found and she had them. She put them in the mail for him and it even had all his cash when he received them. I am truly grateful for the staff at Tru for being so honest. And a perfect learning experience for my son.
