I am so grateful to have found an amazing salon again! My semi-longtime hairdresser, that worked…read moreat Salon J, in Goshen, IN ended up moving to Tennessee, and although I am very happy for her, the move left me without anyone I knew I could rely on for beautiful hair. But thank God I found the Walk-In Salon.....
I am beyond impressed....and here's why:
1) I was able to schedule online with openings as early as the next day, selecting my preferred hairdresser or choosing any available.... I chose any available because I had never been there before and thus, had no preference. I also scheduled 2 days out from when I was actually making the appointment because I wanted the security of knowing I had my most recent paycheck in my account. I scheduled for 9am on Thursday, March 4th. I arrived and was told I'd have Nakia. (Don't know how to spell her name...sorry if it's incorrect!)
2) The man who greeted me, and Nakia were both very polite, COVID-conscious (I believe I have the power to keep myself well from COVID, as I understand that it's my personal thoughts and emotions that literally result in whether I'm in a state of illness or wellbeing {free will is the ultimate human right, is it not?}; however, I realize others are living within a completely different paradigm and I respect that...), they were also very helpful.
3) After explaining what I had previously had done with my hair and how I wanted it corrected, then personalized to my original image, Nakia was very honest with me about the realities of what I should be expecting within 1 hair appointment. (A Groupon deal ended up leaving me with a spotty yellow bowl cut.....)
4) She began by correcting the color....which I had no idea would take 2.5 hours just in itself....running me out of time before work to get anything else done with my hair. Nakia, however, was absolutely more than willing to do whatever was necessary to reach the color I wanted...without being concerned about how long it was taking. And she did JUST that.... I am a platinum blonde now and my color is even. Amazing!
5) With having to leave for work, I still needed a haircut so Nakia scheduled me again for the very NEXT morning, and was able to get me in at 9, 10, or 11.... so I chose 9. I woke up nearly half hour late this morning, and was about 15 minutes late to the appointment....but I called and told her what was going on, and she was very accommodating.
6) The actual cut - Nakia had remembered basically what I had explained the day before about what I wanted, and repeated it back to me to confirm.... she was NOT afraid to ask questions to clarify what I had really intended, and to be sure she understood (everyone says the same thing just a little differently, so I DEEPLY appreciated this about her...). The haircut is honestly probably the best one I have ever gotten - and DEFINITELY the best one I have ever gotten from a hairdresser I had never been to before!
All in all, I am SUPER impressed with my experience and I am GRATEFUL beyond words for Nakia's skills, experience, understanding, and willingness to accommodate. For everything she did, it cost me $115 plus the tip.... VERY REASONABLE! I am completely dedicated to this salon now! Thank you, thank you!
