They proceeded to give me any eviction notice which I took them to court & WON, but they gave excuses to why they want me out of the house and gave me another eviction. They are rude and unprofessional. Janice the front desk lady was extremely rude. She hung up on me ran around questions and she also told me she didn't have to tell me anything after the courts told me I had to talk to them. No one knew anything when I called to ask no one notified me about the legal measures they took. I would not recommend this company to anyone. This was my first time renting and they gave me worst experience ever.

They will make you feel like you don't know what you're talking about, and even when you prove them wrong, they are unapologetic and unpleasant. I'm not sure how they got hired to work here. Or anywhere for that matter. ??? These people will try to rob you blind and charge you for things that clearly are not your responsibility. It's so obvious that these people are trying their best to take money from people and take advantage of any situation that they can. Believe the bad reviews. I'm relatively certain the good ones are only from people who work there.

However, contrary to what this site says, Glenn's office has been permanently closed since December 31, 2019. We thought they may have been on an extended holiday leave, as each call to the direct phone number kept getting us forwarded to the main call center. They would not give us any conclusive information on why we couldn't reach the office directly. On January 22, 2020, I searched my past emails for any correspondence from his office. I found an email from Lisa Lee, dated May of 2019. I took a chance and reached out to her. Thankfully, the next day, Lisa confirmed that the office had been closed at the end of last year, and that she is still associated with Allstate through the office of Glenn's former colleague. The new office is located at 817 2nd Loop Rd, Ste A, Florence, SC. I highly recommend that, if you were pleased with doing business with Glenn, then you should/could reach Lisa Lee at her new location above. Her new email address is LisaLee1@allstate.com. Maintaining your present policy is as easy as calling/emailing Lisa your policy number, including you general information, (name, address, etc.,) for a seamless transition. We stopped in and updated her new system with our Allstate policy information; and, frankly, to find out what happened. (All previous client information was not retrievable when Glenn's office computers were closed out; therefore, Lisa has no way of contacting his direct clients to let them know of her new location). I hope this information helps any of Glenn's previous clients, as well as those looking to start a policy with folks who absolutely have you in good hands. (Wait, didn't I hear that in a commercial somewhere?) Allison S.

    Assurant Group

I'm insured through a local insurance agent, but I'm required to deal with Assurant as a 3rd party…read more Other renters may have the same bad experience with Assurant that I've had. But I hope to attract the attention of building owners and landlords: if you opt to use Assurant, consider the impact on your own reputation with your renters. *** If you are a renter living in some state other than South Carolina, then even if you have an insurance policy through an agent you've chosen yourself, your landlord may require you to interact with Assurant. You may need to ask your insurer to add the South Carolina address of Assurant as the "interested party" (or similar term) on your insurance policy. Assurant sells insurance and also offers a service to check and approve insurance policies. You can see how this could lead to a conflict of interest. You may need to jump through Assurant hoops every year. They have opportunities to advertise to you and try to sell you insurance, but you get no additional benefit whatsoever. Just additional effort. And if you don't work within the time schedule they set, your insurance may *automatically* revert to Assurant. Jumping through Assurant hoops can mean requesting a PDF copy of your insurance policy, visiting the Assurant website, providing your contact information to Assurant (that I certainly don't want to provide), and then wait for their approval. It may sound easy, but why should I have to deal with this company at all? And if I want to talk to customer service? They may record the call "for training purposes." Training people? Training AI? The option to refuse the recording isn't offered, which skirts close to violating the law in states that require both parties to agree to a recording. What if I were to refuse to be recorded? Would I be denied access to customer service in any meaningful way? And the reason I want to complain to customer service is that every year Assurant will send a warning email: "Your Policy is Expired or Canceled." That isn't true: my policy, as is quite normal, renews annually. Same policy number, same agent, for many years now. Despite having my email address and proof of past insurance, Assurant doesn't send a reminder email a week or two in advance. So easy to do! And why should they send a reminder email? * They are a 3rd party. It costs me time (therefore money) to interact with them. Assurant could be replaced at any time by the building owner. * Sending reminder emails is a practice so commonplace that it's odd when a company of the size and means as Assurant doesn't do it. * It's exceedingly easy to tweak an email. Why not do it? In prebuttal to comments like "that's normal for customer service" or "that's just our process" or any other thought-terminating cliches, I'd say that it's not normal, and simple processes can be changed easily. My local insurance agent is more personable, responsive, and understanding than any person at Assurant I've contacted so far. As long as Assurant insurance is offered as a bundle with rental agreements, the company may have little to no incentive to change practices. About all I can do is commit to never buying their insurance. So if you're a building owner, landlord, or property manager, PLEASE consider whether bringing in Assurant as a 3rd party is worth the frustration on the part of your renters.
