I've been in a lot of laundry mats in my adult years and I can easily say it was a privilege to use Truckee Laundry last week when my husband and I were visiting. The staff is helpful with everything from which machines are best to use for the type of laundry you're doing (bedding, towels or clothing) to providing detergent with no scent or dyes. The people in the laundry mat were friendly, a true reflection of the amazing staff that works there. The laundry mat is clean, there are convenient tables for folding laundry and chairs to relax in while you're waiting. There are also nearby services (a CVS, a sandwich shop and other stores) conveniently located to the laundry mat. If you need a clean, friendly, easy place to do your laundry I highly recommend you go to Truckee Laundry. They've earned their 5 star rating. read more

Clean, clean, clean. This place just opened in 2015 and nearly all the machines work well (I saw one with an out of order tag). You can use a credit card for most washers and a few dryers - and coins of course. I could not get the credit card machine to work on dryer, but it was simple for the washers. I came to wash several blankets and one came out COVERED in dog hair (we don't have a dog!). I switched machines and rewashed. Luckily one of the owners happened to come in and immediately refunded my wash (I was just letting him know there was an issue). My favorite part is the wide range of washing machine sizes - single loads up to 8x loads. Perfect for winter blankets. There is a bathroom and wifi, although not sure how to get the password.... Also two TVs. I like supporting local businesses - this one is owned by three families. read more

Immaculately clean including bathroom, friendly and super helpful staff, and their mail service is very reliable. High tech machines that accept both cash bills and coins as well as credit card. Fast WiFi too. Laundry is never a task I look forward to but making the trip is because seeing Aaron and Scott is always a pleasure! read more

This is the newest, cleanest and most modern laundromat I have ever been in!We were camping at Donner SP and had 2 weeks worth of laundry. They have washers that handle single up to capacities of 8 loads. We used a triple and a quad and only had two loads to deal with. You can also use credit cards to pay. I had a problem getting the dryers to take my credit card. The attendant helped me with it and actually put quarters in to pay for the dryers and didn't charge us. He said he felt bad about the credit card option not working which hadn't happened before. read more

I was able to fit 4 comforters in one washer/dryer and 12 pillows in another. As a bonus, the car wash is just across the street. Eat at flame of India across the street too. Truckee laundry is a great place! I needed to launder 8 comforters, 1 blanket and two throw rugs from our rental property. I found Truckee Laundry on Yelp. It deserves the 5 star rating. The facility is clean with clean machines that can handle any level of laundry you have. I was able to wash all of my laundry in two 8 load machines and dry them in two dryers. I didn't need a load of quarters because the machines take credit cards. Beyond that, Maya who was the attendant on duty, helped me to understand how to properly load and use the machines. After I transferred my laundry to the dryers, I waited outside. What I didn't learn until later was that Maya graciously checked my laundry in the dryers and separated the comforters when they got balled up. I had no idea I needed to do that. She did it without me even knowing! Thank you Maya! You were such a blessing to me! I highly recommend Truckee Laundry and their staff! read more

Got a great referral from a coworker for the newly opened Truckee Laundry. After my cat left me a present on my comforter I decided to check it out. I was lucky enough to meet Scott one of the owners. He was very nice and went out if his way to help me select the best machine for the job (they have a very large selection of machines.) I had no idea that using to small of a machine could damage my comforter. We decided to go with the 80lbs capacity machine. It came great and looking new! With WiFi and HD television the time flew by. Almost as comfortable as my living room. I have never Yelp reviewed before, I actually signed up just to do so for this review. Good job TL! read more

(Last load must be in by 9pm; they close at 10pm) As someone who has to drive from Squaw once every week or two to do his laundry, I've been living in a state of laundry depression until recently, when this place opened. Truckee Laundry is a breath of fresh air. It is hands down the cleanest and most awesome laundromat in town. There are tons of brand new machines, HDTVs with news or sports playing, free WiFi, and every time I'm there, Aaron one of the owners is in there striking up friendly conversations with customers. The first time I ever did my laundry there, he followed me out and hollered "thanks for coming in!" on the way to my car. Washing machines range from $2.50-4.50 and the dryer I used took care of two medium-sized wash loads in 40 min or so. Best laundry in the truckee/Tahoe area by far! We are so glad we found Truckee Laundry as the laundry mat we were going to was always dirty and leaving our clothes damaged. We drive from the west shore (30 minutes) just to go here because it's that good. Always clean, free wifi, brand new washers and dryers, conveniently located by groceries and restaurants and did I mention the two TVs? I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Aaron, while I was doing my laundry here recently. I was about to use a jumbo machine for $10 and he kindly advised me that I could use a smaller, less expensive, machine for my large load. I heard him give this advice to another person who came in behind me. He wanted to help us save money! This is a business ethic that one rarely sees these days. I can't say enough great things about Truckee Laundry. I had a huge number of bed linens and towels: 36 sheets, 16 pillowcases, 14 bath towels, 14 hand towels, washcloths to launder. Thanks to the guidance and hands-on help of the proprietors, Aaron and Scott, I washed, dried, folded and was out the door within two hours. While I was there, I observed how cordial the owners were with customers, offering help and answering questions. They have modern machines of every size and it's very convenient that many of their machines accept credit cards. The facilities are kept extremely clean, there are ample laundry carts and folding tables. Their customer service exceeds expectations. Everything is first rate. read more
