Super clean easy to use. I went very early in the morning I think around 7:30 am. There was only one other person there when we left after 30 minute wash there were 5-6 more people using machines. I used only the washer our air bnb washer was down we still had a dryer. Pretty affordable and clean. read more

Big fan of this laundry mat. The machines are new, the owner is responsive, and the onsite attendant is very helpful. The attendant has all of the tricks to clean dirty items, ie Dawn dish soap and oxy mixtures. I've been back twice. Convenient to grab a drink next door too. They have Wi-Fi and sufficient seating. read more

Clean Quick and Easy! First time having to get laundry done on vacation. This place is clean! Machines are clean and surfaces seem to be cleaned regularly (was done while I was there). There are plenty of machines and dryers. Change machine and detergent machine was fully stocked and working properly. There are some cheaper machines and some quicker and more expensive. Plenty of carts and nice and quite! Bonus: sweet dogs relaxing on the floor ;) Operating well during COVID restrictions. Overall great experience! read more

Horrible business. They have employees who they pay to sit in there and do laundry all day long. Almost impossible to get a at a decent machine. They pay these employees to sit there and camp for open machines with massive piles of laundry that won't fit even after they take all the Big machines. You will spend a fortune using the oldest shot washers ever because they have to many employees doing laundry all day every day!!!! Don't go here!!!! read more

Great location and top drawer machines, if you can get one. Went in on a Sunday, which was a mistake, as there were 5 or 6 groups of businesses using the majority of the machines. Same thing happens regularly on Mondays. Would be nice to have some of the machines reserved for locals use/non business use instead of having to fight for washers or dryers with the businesses who are using The Lost Sock to make money! WIll head to Truckee in the future as there are more machines and the staff there are the ones running the laundry service instead of independents who may not care about locals. read more

Never thought I'd be reviewing a laundromat (or using one, for that matter) but here we are and I feel like it's necessary because I accidentally went to the only other laundromat here and it was a really bad experience where I lost all my quarters in a machine that insisted on washing all of my clothes on HOT. Yikes! So, if you're in Tahoe City and need to wash clothes come to this one. The machines work (I know, crazy!) and I only lost one quarter in a dryer that wouldn't work. (The rest of the quarters were returned) Plus they have a really cute sign with socks pinned to it. You know cuteness gets you everywhere! read more

I rarely need to use a laundry service but sometimes when we're traveling, it's nice to get stuff laundered. Lost Sock is clean, very accessible, has really nice equipment, and was an easy solution. Conveniently located in Tahoe City where we could get our laundry started and go just a block away to the Fat Cat Grill for lunch. Close enough that I dashed back to rotate my things into the dryer. I've been to a few laundries around the world while travelling, and this is amongst one of the best I have been to! It's got everything you need. Soap, change machine, lots of good quality machines, dryers, soda machine and a cushioned bench sit on. Even a few magazines and newspapers to read while you are waiting. From what I could see, the machines were all good quality. The one I used worked well. They also had machines for heavier wash loads and heavy duty. This would be handy for this area as there is a lot of camping, water sports and hiking to do. Very recreational. Well priced, one full load cost me $2.75 + dryer for around $2. Also, best part of going to a laundry like this is meeting the locals. We had some great conversations and assistance in checking out destinations around the lake. This is a great laundry mat! Just went there today and washed 3 big comforters, 3 blankets and it only took a little over an hour to do them all. Patrick is very helpful. Very pleasant experience (the resident dogs are so sweet) I put the app on my phone and paid for it with my Visa it was super easy. I had a positive experience here. The owner was in doing some maintenance and I found him to be helpful, courteous, and friendly. Be warned the video store lady will protect her parking spots like a German Shepard. I was there around lunch time in the Summer, mid-week. Popped a load in the wash and went a few doors down for lunch. Came back to transfer to the dryer before an ice cream. read more

Signs say that on M/W/F they have a service of washing, drying, and folding clothes between the hours of 10-5. I waited until 11 and still no one arrived. I called the phone number multiple times and left messages, and no response. Took my business down the street. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more
