Shannon is amazing! She cut my hair in a way that highlights my waves/curls, while at the same time being able to air dry and it look great... not only is she talented, but she's hilarious and makes you feel right at home... All I had done was a cut and style, but they also do stunning color and extensions. And for all you Curly Girls out there, they do have a Deva certified stylist! She also cut my hubby's and bebe's hair, which they get complimented on all the time! Parking is a bit sketchy, but it's not a deterrent. Had an appt and knew about cancellation policy 48 hours in advance. They take your cc when you book. Had something come up and tried to call 48 hrs before. No answer twice. Called 24 hours in advance next day and they would not cancel. Charged me $75 today. Things happen. I get that hairdressers have to make a living but really disappointed they could not work it out with me. I'll never go back and, frankly, both the front desk person yesterday and the owner today were rude on the phone. After all the whining she did on social media during the pandemic, like they were the only place affected, I had kind of soured on the place anyway. Called my bank. They will put hold on charge. Emily saved me from a horrible balayage from a different salon and I am absolutely in love with my hair! Once again, my fellow Yelpers did not disappoint. I recently moved to the Nashville area and needed to find a salon. It had been a while since I had cut or colored my hair and I was looking very sad to say the least. After reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided to give White Cactus Salon a try. I loved the option of being able to book my appointment online. I work in an open office environment and I really didn't need my colleagues to hear me making personal plans to get my hair cut. So definite bonus to not only pick my appointment but also choose from the online menu of services. The salon is very cute--totally airy, open and clean vibe. There was plenty of parking in front of the building. Definitely a bonus for me because I hate going to businesses that don't have adequate parking. Too stressful. Shannon was just awesome. Super friendly. She listened to what my needs were (basically needed EVERYTHING done to my hair) and then showed me her ideas for the color for my hair. The color turned out amazing. Completely love it. I left the cut and style in her hands and could not be happier. I have received so many compliments on my hair. I had a great afternoon with Shannon. DO NOT GO TO KENZIE FOR EXTENSIONS, COMPLETE FRAUD ! I use to go to Kenzie for my hairstyling needs. One time during my appointment I mentioned I always wanted to try extensions. She told me she "specialized" in them and even states it on her Instagram. Later on she said there was a "promotion deal". One she "never heard of them doing" and encouraged me to buy them. So, in March got them placed and within LESS than 24 hours the extensions were matted and looked SO cheap ( see photos)! I started getting bad migraines and the ends of the extensions was poking my scalp. I was embarrassed to even have them on my head. I got them taken out and was told it would take "usually two weeks" to get the refund. Fast forward to now, I still have not gotten my refund or my new hair. I have been reaching out to Kenzie multiple times, practically harassing her and I am blown off with a "its in the works". TO THIS DAY SHE STILL HAS MY 1300 and MY HAIR. I reached out to the manager regarding this issue. Manager of the salon is beyond rude and told me because she's an independent hairstylist so there is nothing she can do even though this "independent hairstylist" represents your company and is making you all look like clowns. i booked an appointment for a fresh spring trim. my normal hair dresser was booked until july. i've always seen this place from the road and it looked cute and had great reviews! figured it would be perfect for a simple trim. booked with morgan and we agreed after reviewing a few pics to cut the hair right at the middle of my chest so that when it's curled it would hit the top of my boob. as you can see from the photo, she went way beyond that length. i've also added the photo of what i showed her and what we discussed for inspiration. it was also so horribly styled that i had to immediately wash it when i got home to style it for myself. not what a girl hopes for the day she gets a haircut. I went here for the first time trying to find a new salon after just moving to Nashville. Sadly I am still looking. I did not like my cut and color but even if I did, I wouldn't go back. I felt trapped there with my hair in foils while several customers came in and got haircuts without a mask. 2 of the stylists had their masks below their nose so basically they were ineffective. At one point, one of the stylists took off her mask to cut her friend's hair who was also not wearing a mask. This is all ready a high risk activity so I was stressed the whole time watching people who were not concerned for my health or the health of their workers. If I had known this salon was not enforcing the mask ordnance I would have never gone. I certainly will not be back. read more

I've been going to see Morgan for 2 years and she is the only person I trust in Nash with my hair!!!!!! I will follow her to any salon. She always listens to exactly what I want and also gives me advice on how to make my hair healthier. I have really thin hair that breaks easily and Morg always handles it with care. In the 2 years I've been going to her (with getting my hair done every 3 months) she has never once messed it up and I have always been happy with the results. It has been a while since I had my hair cut and I have a wedding to attend to in a few days, so I looked for a salon on Yelp and came across White Cactus. It's a cute little boutique salon situated next to Calypso Cafe (which btw is really good!). I had Taryn and she is an awesome stylist! I was in and out in about 30 minutes, with shampoo, cut and blow dry. She paid attention to details and asked exactly what you want or envisioned so she could make it all happen. It was empty when I went (late Saturday afternoon) and it was only Taryn and I at the store front but she still made the whole experience comfortable and inviting. Note that you get $10 off as a new customer (which was a happy surprise to me) and $10 off for each referral to a friend, family member, etc. I had a great experience there and I would go back the next time my haircut is due! read more

Ya'll. This is a lengthy review, but it's only because I loved this place so much. You've been warned. Moving to Nashville & leaving behind your trusted hairstylist is TOUGH. It's a bit terrifying to step out of your comfort zone & try out new salons, & for the past 4 years, I've been on a hunt to find one I really love & feel comfortable with. Since moving here I've tried 5 different spots and with each one, something was missing. Either the cut was great but the prices weren't sustainable for my budget, or the prices were great but I didn't connect with my stylist. I decided to try again - 6th time's a charm - & this time, I expanded my search due to a recent move. That's when I found White Cactus. I was immediately impressed with their page. I saw great prices, experienced stylists, excellent reviews, beverage options (nothing makes you feel fancier during a haircut than a glass of wine in your hand!), & a shop dog named Frank. I was sold. Booking was really easy, & I immediately fell in love with the space when I showed up for my appointment. My stylist, Bree, was warm & friendly, & something I appreciated about her immediately was the way she took her time. She took time to get to know my hair before doing anything to it. She took time to ask about my hair vision, my daily maintenance level, & which products I currently use. I was surprised by her critique of my current products (which, admittedly, aren't super), but then was impressed when she took time to educate me about WHY those products weren't right for my hair type & the science behind hair follicle health. She also told me how it was so important to her to set her girls up for success inside & outside the salon, which I appreciated. She wants to make sure we have a style that is sustainable for our day-to-day lives & that we understand which products, & styling tools, are actually appropriate for our hair. She also made sure to emphasize that the goal is long-term hair health, & she's not into just putting a band-aid on to make it look alright for a day or two. Bree took her time washing & applying a leave-in treatment to my hair (which felt maaarvelous), & then spent time cutting it & blowing it out. I never felt rushed or got the impression that she had somewhere else to be, & we chatted easily the whole time. At the end of my appointment, my hair felt amazing & I asked about products she recommended. When I told her my budget & also that having cruelty-free hair care was important to me, she was respectful of my wishes & let me know that their salon only carried cruelty-free options. Two thumbs way up. She also advised a hair care plan for maximum health, & you better believe I already have another appointment in the books. When all was said & done, I paid $102 for a haircut, a leave-in treatment (which was $15), AND an awesome new shampoo & conditioner from the Verb line. The last place I went to I paid $100 JUST for the haircut, so I'm pretty happy with White Cactus prices. If you've made it to the end of my review, congrats. You're probably in need of a great salon yourself & have read my review to help you decide if this place is worth it! If that's the case, give White Cactus a shot. It most certainly is. read more

The White Cactus Salon is such a relaxed, friendly, and beautifully decorated environment. Immediately upon arriving for the first time, I was welcomed by stylists and offered a drink. My stylist, Kaylee U. did full highlights and root toning on me and I am SO obsessed with how it turned out. She took the time to understand exactly the color and style I was going for and then she exceeded my expectations. Short female haircuts can be tricky; it's a fine line between short and stylish and a men's haircut. Nashville makes it even harder - short female hair isn't nearly as popular as the wavy, highlighted country singer look. It took several tries, but thankfully finally found Kaylee at White Cactus. She can deliver the goods - a sharp haircut that is still feminine and looks professional enough to wear to work. No stray missed hairs to trim back at home, this woman is detail-oriented. I mentioned two things that specifically bothered me one being my roots & lack of blonde there.I've been getting foils for over 10 +years and I know how fresh highlights should look! Went to a new salon and new stylist last night. Immediately felt comfortable and had an easy report with Meghan. My hair had gotten quite long and I was wanting short, curly layers. This is where the story gets amazing. Meghan gave away her commission to her colleague, Taryn, who knows how to really work with curly hair. She was so super sweet, Meghan, and she set up my new appointment for this morning but because I was there last night and she felt bad, she gave me a shampoo and blow out for free.
