Really grateful to an amazing team that took such great care of my mom in her last few days of her life. I truly don't know what I would have done without their help!! 2/09/2024 My elderly mother was a patient with True Care Hospice, I'm sharing my experience in hopes that this will help your family decide if this facility is the right fit for you. The last thing families need during these difficult stressful times is added stress from terrible cavalier, and lacking service. They refuse to accept their horrible mistake which is the TRUTH. I did NOT have a problem with mom getting discharge I am very thankful for it as I am thankful she transitioned from hospice to home health, I did have a major problem with their disgusting discharge procedures, their refusal to take responsibility for the wrong information Maria gave me would affect my elderly mom's well being. My mother's discharge was atrocious and very poorly handled, yes she was given a 2 week supplies and equipment after discharge however this does NOT excuse them for the terrible treatment the last day. I would even consider it inhumane. 2 days before the medical equipment was supposed to be picked up a nurse named Maria informed me that NO date was actually set for moms medical equipment to be picked up. (Wrong information) 48 hrs. later and about 1 hour before mom's bed time a receptionist by the name of Samantha informs me by telephone that law enforcement would be called out if I did not surrender the hospital bed, I was shocked and panicked and in utter disbelief. Yes I elevated my voice I was outraged for the handling of their mistake and the misinformation they gave me and to be told the police would be called out if mom did not surrender the hospital bed. I had to call public health to investigate their terrible discharge practices, ** the investigator advised me on 2/16/2024 to share my experience so others would be made aware of my experience. They did NOT care when I informed them that mom would be sleeping on the floor because of their terrible mistake, the case manager named Vera korkanovic declined to speak to me to defuse this matter, or to find a resolution. The owner Tali Fayfel refused to speak to me as well. She later calls screaming at me. The receptionist screamed at me talked over me and repeatedly told me moms hospital bed was going to be picked up that evening no matter what! In panic and in the evening hours I began taking out some medical equipment outside, I had no idea how mom's health would be affected sleeping on the floor that night. ****The only nurse that stood out from everyone was a nurse named DAMARIS she was consistently caring, professional, and patient. ** I did email hospice to let them know I would be sharing this horrible experience so other families would not have to go through this. Sorry if you view this as threatening. * Social worker did not return calls/ text messages for days. * Case manager refused to take my calls a number of times when I needed guidance for discharge. We were so blessed to have True Care Hospice take care of our mother. Actually, our nurse, the bathing nurse and the many others who were just a phone call away, also administered care to us as well! They knew that our mom's time with us was special and her well-being affected her family. The care and time they took was just so professional as well as personal. Exactly a month ago we buried my husband's grandmother. She was the most beloved matriarch of the family, and our loss was very painful. Our 88 yo "Wonder Woman", aka, Mom, became suddenly incapacitated and was diagnosed with lung cancer which has metastisized to her liver. Without exception, we have been pleased by the incomparable care Mom had received thus far. My grandma had been a patient in true care hospice for a couple of month now. We were referred to true care by her primary physician and I'm so happy that he did. She was suffering from end stage liver disease and she was always in so much pain. Seeing a loved one in such misery can be devastating until true care took over. We were cared for at the comfort of our home with skillful nurses and case managers. There was never a moment with true care where requests from us weren't fulfilled. My 97 year old mother came to live with us, we really were not ready to take care of her we had no idea what to do. I decided to look up home care and what it would cost. I came across True Care and gave them a call. These people are true angels! They sent a nurse out right away and that afternoon I got all the equipment I needed. They were so kind every time I called with a new problem with my mom who was a handful. Towards the end when she was dying they had someone here 24/7. They were so kind to her and my family. If you are thinking of getting help at home call True Care, you don't have to have a disease or cancer you just need help, and there is no cost to you for anything. Everyone is wonderful. I am forever grateful for True Care Hospice. I didn't know where to turn when my grandfather was no longer able to take care of himself. My grandfather was diagnosed with heart disease many years ago and lived a wonderful life but in the last 3 months of his life, he drastically declined. It was heartbreaking for our family to deal with this. I found True Care Hospice online and called to ask about their service since I didn't know much about hospice. The friendly staff was more than happy to answer my questions even when I felt my questions were stupid. The company sent Tatiana to admit my grandfather into care. She was with us for 4 hours as she made sure to answer all our questions, make sure my grandfather had everything he needed and provided support to our grieving family. She was beyond caring and sweet. I cannot express how grateful I am that True Care Hospice was there for our family during the final months of his life. The nurses were wonderful, the bath aid was amazing. Medications got delivered directly to our door. I could call 24/7 if we had any concerns. My family truly is grateful. read more

The past few months have been an extremely difficult time for me & my family as we experience the natural decline of my father's health. Throughout all of this Yolla, our daily wound care nurse, has been a true godsend, providing compassionate and extraordinary care, treating him as if he were her own father. She healed many serious pressure sores we didn't think were healable and always took the time to provide thorough, comprehensive treatment, as if we were her only client. Yolla's caring concern led her to consistently develop creative ways to treat the highly unusual health situations we faced, often formulating her suggestions/new treatment options on her own time. We hold her in the highest regard would recommend her without hesitation. We also highly recommend Noel, who provided my father with exceptional twice weekly bathing care during the entire period. Noel took the time to understand my father's unique skin situations and was consistently flexible as my dad's skin conditions changed. He was gentle yet thorough and very sensitive to my father's pain level and comfort. We thank God for Yolla and Noel. They made my father's final days pleasant and dignified. True Care exceeded my expectations at every step of the way of this most challenging time. Our RN Tatiana was outstanding, caring, and knowledgeable. Our LVNs were incredible, so experienced and able to confidently and sensitively walk us through each step. Clergy services were offered and Pastor Hector was super responsive, supporting us at a moment's notice and providing exactly what we needed. The social worker, office staff and everyone I encountered were highly professional, supportive, and sensitive. Communication was excellent all around, quick responses to texts, phone calls, and emails. I had to pick a hospice company for my Grandma, and I really wanted to make sure that she had the best care so I did some research. There are so many choices, and I had 24 hours to choose, so I figured that going by customer reviews would help me to make the best choice. True Care hospice had the most reviews and the best reviews, so I gave them a try. Looking back now, I wish I would have gone with the larger companies. I am now convinced that the only reason that this company could possibly have any good reviews is if all the friends and family of the workers are leaving yelp reviews. We had failures every step of the way with True care. They don't know how to handle a patient that has a port, the representatives who answer the phone are unprofessional and the company as a whole appears negligent and unprofessional. My grandpa asked the nurse to come back because he didn't want her to wake my grandma at that moment and she reported him to social services. Even after my grandma passed, the degenerate representatives who came to pick her up called the wrong number when they arrived (they were trying to reach my grandpa and called my mom), and my mom had to find out that her mother had died from a complete stranger. The whole experience was dissatisfying at the least. Probably more accurately described as a disaster, in what was already the most difficult time of our lives. Do not use this company. You will regret it if you do; trust me, your precious loved ones deserve so much better. read more

True Care Hospice was there for me when I needed them during my aunt's death. My aunt was on service with True Care Hospice for 4 days before she passed. I had so many questions about hospice and really needed emotional support more than anything. Accepting that my aunt needed hospice was a hard pill to swallow. The company sent a very sweet nurse named Tatiana. I can't even begin to tell you what a difference this made in my life and most importantly, to my aunt who got to live out the remainder of her short days without pain and suffering. Tatiana was an angel! She stayed with our family as long as it took during the admissions process. While we waited for additional family to arrive to our home, Tatiana didn't mind waiting and talking to us. The support from True Care Hospice was comforting. It really helped having someone who genuinely cared for my aunt. I hope people will read this review who are maybe looking for other Hospice choices, because this one was heaven sent. I am at a loss for words, reviewing the incomparable care my terminally ill sister has received from nurse Christina of True Care Hospice. That is because adequate words of praise have not been invented, and may never exist to accurately describe Christina's infinite compassion and dedication. I have seen my grandmother, then my mother being assisted in their transition from this world, have met exceptional, kind, and caring individuals, but never have I met and received help from anyone like Christina. She is young, yet mature and knowledgeable beyond her years; sweet, loving, and caring, yet relentless and firm, selfless and giving, yet wise and highly ethical. Watching her care for my sister, I realize that unlike most people, Christina genuinely and altruistically practices nursing for the good of her patients, quietly and steadfastly, never missing even the smallest detail that would make a difference in giving comfort and care. It was never about Christina, or about how good or caring she can demonstrate herself to be. It was all about her sick and afflicted patient. I keep pinching myself, wondering if I was really that lucky to have had such a nurse assigned to us. In everything she does, Christina combines expertise and humility, never bragging about how much she knows, or how good she is. I see it in the way she administers medication, how she bathes my sister, making sure to clean every inch of her body while avoiding to distress her. I could go ad infinitum about Christina, but will sum up with a quote from a French ecclesiastic, Jean-Baptiste Lacordaire, "Real excellence and humility are not incompatible one with the other, on the contrary, they are twin sisters." True Care Hospice is very fortunate to count Christina among its nursing staff, and our family is blessed to have met and received care from our beloved nurse Christina. She gives true meaning to the term hospice, and perhaps should be in charge of training newly arrived hospice nurses. More Christinas will make this a better world. read more

Hum... Not too sure what to say here other than I'm completely disappointed in the care. They are wonderful at leading people on with promises of hope. (At least in my case) They do act as if they care, but when the actual care took place i was taken back in full surprise. Most of what they they told me was a lie or at least really embellished. The hospital and my doctors took better care of me than, True Care hospice. The owner, a lady who tells people she's just a nurse, absolutely refuses to talk with the patient. I'm in far more pain now that I'm under their care than I was before being involved with them. They directly lied to me and kept me in the dark, leading me on with false promises o of ease in my near future. I can't visit an ER or see my doctors while under their care and they won't and don't help me with the passion I experience (in fact, they cut my pain meds back a lot leaving me in more pain than I was already in.) Since they would be responsible for my medical bill I'm not allowed to go too ER our see my regular doctors. When I'm in pain they send a nurse who says she wishes she could take better care of me. Then I find out she tells Thee company I'm doing well and my pain is under control according to her own personal standards. (Yes, she told me this info over the phone herself.) I'm reporting this company to the better business bureau because they should not get away with such business practices. Their practices are beyond my disappointment with regards to my care. I'm at the end stage of my life and I should never be treated in this manner they've chosen. No one should subjected too this. Maybe it's just my hospice nurse playing God. (Perhaps it's not everyone in this company, but since I can't talk with anyone in charge, I'm forced to see the company as a whole.) I'm not saying they are bad to everyone, but they certainly came off caring to me, but I feel I was being told was a nest of lies. I'm about to switch hospice care or leave it all together. I hope if you choose them they take better care with you. I see lots of people seem satisfied. Perhaps it's just my regular hospice nurse, but regardless I'm growing to hate the treatment from this company. I feel you have a right too know all sides of the care given at such a important time in life. Lots of people share how great they are and I wanted you to feel another side and I've personally experienced this behavior from them. Honestly, I'd rather pass away today than to deal with them another day. I'm here to share a story so you can make a choice on something that is very important to every person. This is the end stage of my life and it affects my family as I'm sure the whole exterior ence well effect yours as you take the journey. I've been very patient with all that they asked of me to try. Before I ever reached into social media to tell my story I tried what they asked, I tried to talk with someone in charge and I was refused a conversation with the owner (who misleads people too believe she's only a nurse.) My goal is to share another side of their company that I hope you and your loved ones don't fall victim to. There's more to my story, but as I said... I'm not here to complain. I want too help educate you with some of the most important decisions you make with your family. I hope some part of this message speaks to you and your family. I have first hand experience dealing with True Care Hospice when I was caring for a dear friend of my as power of attorney while he was passing away, they brought a 24 hour nurse that was so sensitive to his needs. They were available on call at any moment, their staff was truly wonderful and caring. They arranged for more oxygen tanks, air pressure for the hospital bed mattress to help with bed sores , and arranging for 24 hour registered nurse for end of life care who was truly a very sensitive, experienced professional man. He took us outside to talk about end of life matters, arrangements not to speak in front of my friend who was passing, I was so moved by that. Yana was always available for my calls and helpful with all the needs. It's a tough job but thank you so much for being there to make the transition so much easier. I cannot say enough positive things about True Care Hospice. After six years of dementia my mother finally hit end stage dementia and hospice was recommended . As my mother was a Kaiser member we started with Kaiser hospice. That was a nightmare. The doctors at Kaiser were very good but the visiting nurse was also the Case Manager and she was horrible for me and for the Board and Care to deal with so we switched to True Care Hospice. It was like night and day. True Care had several excellent nurses who visited my mother. frequently. My main contact was Vera, the case manager, also a nurse but she stayed in the office and fielded calls. I felt Vera supported me and my mother 100%. Dr. Kea did not visit as often as the Kaiser doctors but if there was a significant change, he came in addition to his regular pattern. I also felt very supported by him. During the last year of my mother's life there was unfortunately a significant amount of conflict with the Board and Care due to various factors. This conflict was understandable under the circumstance: however it put me and my mother and brother in a very difficult position. I was concerned that since the hospice was chosen by the Board and Care that the hospice would "take their side" but instead they we wonderful mediators trying to help find solutions that would work for both the Board and Care and my mother and I.So, Vera, Dr. Kea and all the nurses were amazing. I would have liked more involvement by the social worker Mariya and the bereavement psychologist Olga. Their roles were minimal. read more
